M-Power Fitness

I am from Kingsport, TN and used to a much larger powerlifting gym. With that being said, I love this place. Small but gets the job done and has everything I need. I have a gym for short workouts at my apartment, but when I want to do deads, or have serious sessions I know I have a new home gym to come to. From a small town TN girl to a relatively large city in comparison, I’m happy to have found a place that gives me all the benefits of powerlifting and also being 24/7 that wasn’t planet fitness. No hate to that place, just doesn’t give me what I need. Kingsport Fitness will always be my first love, but M Power is definitely stealing a lil piece of my heart and helping me in my transition to a new city. 🖤

we actually came here to rent a U-haul but we had a lovely experience and it seemed like a really great place to come work out! the person who helped us was so friendly and considerate, there is a pretty large selection of snacks and chilled drinks and even meal preps available! It really seemed like the people there work very hard to create the best possible environment for their members

You want to lift and be serious about It? You need that push in a workout to get you to the next level? THIS is the place. Set in one of the most memorable buildings in Roanoke. I love going there.

Excellent community. If you are serious about fitness goals it’s the place to be.

A great "hole in the wall" raw gym! Always adding more/ new equipment and ensuring the place is kept tidy and clean. Tommy and April are pleasant owners that interact with their customers which makes Titan have a personal touch other gyms just don't have. 💪

So I noticed there is a severe lack of an updated review. SO! Here we go.

I have been a member of Titan Fit for over a year now, and I have been a member for the full duration of their transition from their old location to their new one. I am going to be covering several points here.

Location: The Gym is located in a less than stellar part of town, and there is no denying that gym is parked right next to a section 8 neighborhood. However the gym is not difficult to get to by any stretch of the imagination and the neighbors keep to themselves. The gym also has a locked door and a fenced in parking area which is very nice. The building has been totally renovated and continuously receives upgrades and updates to various areas. At the time of writing this there is substantial work being done to create a boxing/wrestling section of the gym with punching bags and floor mats. There is no AC but fans are always running, and during the colder months there is a powerful ceiling mounted heating unit.

Equipment: This gym has a lot going for it! Amazing how a small gym has more equipment (and guess what... all of it works... i'm looking at you EVERY GOLDS GYM ON THE PLANET) This gym focuses primarily on body building and strength conditioning --> so you wont find a lot of machines that have you wasting away with body movements while never getting anywhere closer to your goals. There are two dedicated Olympic style bench presses, an incline bench and a basic flat bench. He has two really nice power-racks and more basic power-rack set up which can of course also be used for bench press so in a way... the guy has 6 bench presses... No lines... no wait...

Those power-racks are also squat friendly for everyone who remembers leg day.

There are 3 dedicated dead lifting pads. No LUNK ALARMS or gym staff telling you to not dead lift. He also allows you to dead lift without shoes on - so no twisted ankles from being forced to dead lift in running shoes.

If you feel like getting athletic, the guy has battle ropes, a climbing rope, medicine balls, a push/pull sled and a lengthy stretch of turf. The owner really encourages getting up off the exercise bike and working out like an athlete.

Weights - weights - and more weights. There isn't a shortage of bars, dumbbells, plates etc in the whole gym.

There are cable machines available with several attachments.

Last note on equipment - there is a severe lack of cardio equipment. The gym isn't designed to be a treadmill gym where you just stare at a TV and walk for 20 minutes and leave... however... I will say that honestly it would be nice to have something like a treadmill for those who want to get a jog/run in. The owner isn't against bringing in new equipment, voice your opinion and he does listen.There is a row-machine, two bicycle style exercise bikes and larger compound-exercise style bike available.

Amenities:
There are two bathrooms that have a toilet, sink and shower each. One bathroom has a small locker set up for those who wish to secure their equipment, though I would argue that for the time being there is no need to be concerned about your fellow gym partners. There is a water fountain that runs through a heavy filter and cools the water - so you aren't drinking straight up tap water out of a public water fountain. There are small towels available for cleanup, but anything more than wiping your face or wiping down a bench --> you have to provide your own towel.

All in all, if I had to grade the gym on a 10 point scale, I give a 9. I feel that the areas where the gym is lacking now will go away in the future!

This is a real hard core gym. Won’t find a tread mill here. If you like to grunt and clang 45s, this is your place! Big fan of Titan Fit

Was traveling from Canada, had to get my workout done. The best welcome I had in a long time, old school vibe and great people.

Great gym and training studio. Staff is knowledgeable and professional. Convenient to downtown Roanoke and lots of onsite parking.

Great facility, knowledgeable trainer, challenging workouts. Highly recommended!

Can't see myself at any other gym!! It's my home away from home.
