Great spot to come grab a drink in a part of New Orleans history. A lot of seating options (inside and out). Service was always quick too!

Great drinks and friendly staff! The location is very cool, it's a historically important bar. For the most part it is candle lit at night and they have a live pianist. I would definitely return!

This is a hilarious place to people watch, and the carriage tours with the donkeys come around every 15 minutes and provide ample additional people watching. Even the locals come by to wet their whistle and get a laugh.

This is a well-known spot and people often take videos and photos so if you’re sitting anywhere near the outside be expected that your photo is going to be taken hundreds of times.

Didn’t dig the price of a drink and a water which was close to $20 but that seems to happen a lot here.

Awesome bar on Bourbon Street. The oldest bar in New Orleans pleases the crowd with phenomenal drinks and a spectacular set up for the piano to interact with the crowd.
Go for a great time and sing with the crowd.

This bar is worth checking out. Cool vibe and they serve the purple drank, which is a grape flavored frozen drink. I'm not a fan of grape flavored things but I had to try it, and it wasn't bad.

Love the atmosphere, super chill and welcoming. Tried the hurricane, purple voodoo, and the cherry bomber. I highly recommended this location.

Great place! I wish they had more craft beer but we really came for the atmosphere. We got a great patio seat and enjoyed the people walking by. It is worth a stop in!

Located on Bourbon Street, Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar is a historic gem approaching its remarkable 300th birthday.

Constructed between 1722 and 1732, this iconic brick and beam Creole cottage holds the distinction of being the oldest building used as a bar in the U.S.

Woven with tales of resilience, Lafitte's survived two great fires in the 18th century, thanks to its slate roofing.

Steeped in history, it's believed to have been the storehouse of New Orleans full time pirate and part time hero Jean Lafitte.

Located in the lower Bourbon area providing a unique haven for those seeking a genuine New Orleans experience.

Simplicity reigns here, encouraging patrons to revel in straightforward, classic drinks.

Lafitte's stands out with reasonably priced drinks compared to its Bourbon Street counterparts, offering a sanctuary for those seeking a break from the lively chaos.

It's your best bet on Bourbon Street, especially if your feet are tired from exploring and you've had your fill of raucous mayhem.

More than just a place, Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar is a living chapter of New Orleans history, inviting you to immerse yourself in its timeless charm and become a part of the narrative that has withstood the test of time.

Said to be the oldest bar in Louisiana (and one the oldest in the good ol’ US of A), it definitely had a rustic charm. The Sazerac I received from the friendly bartender was on point, and my wife loved the giant frozen purple drank thing she ordered. This is a popular spot, for sure. We got there early afternoon on a weekday and it wasn’t too crowded, but we passed by a couple times later over the weekend and it was crazy busy - which is probably alright if you like that kind of vibe. Definitely check it off your list when you’re in NOLA.

A must go place in NOLA. It’s historic and the atmosphere is amazing here. The bartenders are here are very kind. Was able to sit down here for hours and just enjoy my company.

It's definitely a place to go to when you are visiting the city. The only downside which I kind of wish someone would address is when people come to the piano, and then just scream talk to eachother the entire time, so you can't fully enjoy the experience of relaxing with a drink listening to music. I attached a photo of the incredibly disrespectful crowd near the piano on Jan 10th 2024. If you know them, please tell them to take it outside next time. You could tell the pianist and the rest of the crowd were annoyed at these people.

The best Purple drink! The BF and I have had 1 or 2 a day or maybe more on our 10 day vacation here in New Orleans.
I still believe we turned purple by the end of our vacation. 💜😁

This is an extremely old building, oldest continuous bar in New Orleans. You go there for the historical value, you go there to be able to say that you were at the oldest bar in New orleans! It is dark dingy brick and very historic. A fun stop on your trip to the French quarter

Great bar with a very relaxed vibe. Can be a little noisy, but the piano man starts at 8 PM and that added to the fun. Great way to end a stroll down Bourbon Street.

This was a fun little place to stop in, have a few drinks, sit on the balcony and watch the people go by! They have a bar upstairs & downstairs so you never need to go far to get your favorite beverage refilled! The service and staff was outstanding. So good that we wound up back at this place several times during our weekend in NOLA! FYI, if you drink Deep Eddy's lemon vodka? This is one of only a couple of bars that serve it in NOLA! 😎

The LaFitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar is a classic French Quarter location and no trip to the city would be complete without a visit. They offer inside and outdoor bars as well as the classic sit out front tables. The drinks are strong and reasonably priced. The service varies, but no one seems to mind. I have not seen food offered here but it’s a nice historic spot for a drink.

I believe this is one of the oldest bars in New Orleans. Went there for a drink after dinner. Even though the bar was a few blocks down from the busy part of Bourbon Street, it was hopping. Great atmosphere and really nice cocktails. Definitely worth coming for a drink or two.
