Umi Sushi & Hibachi Grill

Great Hibachi Restaurant. The food is amazing 😋💫✨

I set by the Hibachi Grill and placed an order of the Grilled Salmon dinner with Hibachi rice, vegetables, grilled shrimp and a Plum Sake drink.

I love the taste of Sake and tried the Plum flavor for the first time 🤩 nice and smooth taste.

The cook was very impressive and entertaining while cooking 🧑‍🍳 the dishes.

He gave a sample of the rice to make sure it was great to my liking.

I will be back again.

I usually only come to Umi for their sushi, which is consistently delicious - I’d recommend their Chocolate City roll (spicy tuna, snow crab, avocado, topped with seared tuna, wrapped in soy paper, and chef’s sauce) or their normal Philadelphia Roll. But we sat at their hibachi table this time. This is how much food I had leftover after eating an entire meal’s worth at the table!
The chef was a lot of fun and the hibachi itself was as good as it gets. And nice service too!
Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely my go to for sushi, soup, salad, Salmon, Salmon skin's, hibachi you name it . It's right here in Chalmette! Order online, phone, or dine in. Wheelchair accessible! All in all child and grown up friendly. Private area, front row seats, booths! It's a great place!

Best sushi place around hands down! Superior service, excellent food, and beautiful and relaxing atmosphere! It's a must for me every time I visit Louisiana.

My 6 year ok lo son has a fave cook. Super friendly staff. They check on you constantly but is not in an overwhelming or annoying way. I tried the tropical rolls. I will definitely try more. It's one of the family's favorite place to grab a bite, relax and enjoy.

My 1st time there...and will be going back! Hostess was very patient and knowledgeable of the many dishes on the menu. The food was plentiful AND delicious! You won't go wrong choosing to eat there! Heck...you just might meet me there! 😁

Bring an appetite! The portions are enormous. Plan on bringing home food. Hibachi combination dinner was excellent. Truthfully, two people could split a meal or just ask for one hibachi rice instead of two. Noodles, shrimp, soup, and salad are complimentary. The only thing I was not pleased with was the salad. It left a lot to be desired. But the Hibachi made up for it. Good sushi as well. Try the white fish sushi or New Orleans Roll.

We come here for the Sushi. Best in Da Parish. Servers are a little young and inexperienced , but a couple really do try.

Food was amazing. Wish this place was closer to Metairie area. Crab Rangoon were amazing tasting, hibachi rice and veggies were great. Accidently burned my mouth on the soup so didn't get a real taste for that but I do plan on coming back. Looking at the building from the outside, it doesn't look great, but inside was much better on the eyes.

Service sucks. Everyone there acts like they don't want to be there. Not friendly at all.

Reading reviews I was very skeptical but decided to give them a chance and I’m so glad I did. The Hibachi food was amazing and very plentiful. Be prepared to to take home a lot of it. Our chef Dede was very entertaining and kept smiles on our kids face. There were many alcoholic beverage options and so tasty. Our waitress was very attentive and always asked if we were okay. My family and I will definitely be back!

I've eaten here plenty of times. Never had an issue with my food or service. The hibachi is REALLY GOOD!

A ton of sushi for your money. Fish was fresh and the rolls were unique.

Stopped in for lunch. Left with dinner too.Prices are right and portions are large our hibachi cook Augusteen was super good even did a few tricks I haven't seen before .he's super personable and makes sure the kids at the table have a smile on their face . 10 out of 10 thank you !
