Interlock Metal Roofing

We cannot be more pleased with our roof and our experience with Interlock. The whole interlock team was knowledgeable, responsive, flexible, and professional. I especially want to call out Fernando and Luis, our installers. These guys are not just installers, they're artisians. The interlock roofing system is seemily simple, but our roof was not, and clearly required special expertise to get it right. Fernando and Luis were incredibly meticulous and clearly strove for perfection. We also had some complex archetectual challenges that Allen and Fernando found creative and quality solutions to that turned out great. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then see below!

The installation team of Interlock did a fantastic job. fernando and his team were great. He was meticulous and exceptionally skillful. The new roof looks gorgeous. The house is now shining. Neighbours stop and ask us what type of roofing that is (although the Interlock sign is on the lawn!). We are very happy about the aluminium roofing. A great investment that will pay off but we have started to enjoy it already!

The process of selecting the roof design and color was quick and easy. The installation crew did a great job and cleaned up every day. We get compliments on the new roof often and our neighbors think it's slate.
Our winter had a lot of snow and the roof performed perfectly. We are so happy with the solution that we plan to install an Interlock roof on a new addition we are putting on our home.

Peter was wonderful from the beginning to end. He was honest, and thorough. I decided on the slate looking roof and it is absolutely beautiful beyond my expectations. We had a fantastic experience with Interlock from the initial consultation with Peter, to the ongoing scheduling / billing communication with May, to working with Allen the project manager, to the roofing crew Fernando and Luis; they were all great to work with. Fernando and Luis were extremely hardworking, skilled, honest, conscientious, kind, and meticulously attentive to detail. During the demo of our old roof, the guys discovered some issues that we were not initially aware of. They communicated in a timely and effective manner, in addition to taking a lot of pictures in order to show us exactly what they found. We also received communication from Allen to ensure he was in the loop and we were all on the same page. Our new roof truly looks fantastic!! We have seen multiple neighbors stop to admire our roof as well as take down the contact info posted on the bright Interlock sign in our yard. Thanks, again!

John Mondschean was our contact guy! John was remarkably helpful with the process from day one. He coordinated the whole procedure! The Installation guys were a great team too!
Our roof has seen the Winter weather and it looks like it was just installed!

We got our copper colored metal roof installed the beginning of 2020. We went to a home and garden convention where we met an interlock representative. Days later we had a meeting with John who answered all our questions and addressed our concerns. He went above and beyond helping us with different grades of roofing and pricing. Jose and his crew were prompt, hard working and detail oriented, going as far as to spray paint the stacks copper to match our roof color. The work was completed in 3 days and Jose made sure to do a thorough walk around to address any concerns. We had a great experience with Interlock!

We had a great experience. We loved the roof we were shown and went for it. The install scheduling was great. The install crew run by Jessie was 1st. class. He and his guys did great work. The roof has alot of trim work so it took some time. Turned out beautiful.. We live in a high traffic area and get many compliments. Would recommend!

Our InterLock red slate aluminum roof was installed 12/20, and with butyl rubber over the family room addition.
We are pleased we had no leaks this winter, and we had plenty of ice and snow here in the Chicago area.
Our salesman, John, was easy to work with and he delivered a beautiful and functional product. Several neighbors in our Scarsdale subdivision have complimented us on the attractiveness of the new roof.
The professional installers went over our existing 29 year old shingles, and replaced the chimney flashing.
We are satisfied with our new roof and plan to install new gutters and matching red shutters this Spring.

We were very nervous at the beginning of this project, not knowing what to expect. But after meeting and introducing ourselves to them, we knew were in very good hands. Both installers were very knowledgeable about the product and the installation. I, also am in the building industry and I was so glad that my wife and, myself got these two excellent workers to install our metal roof. I’ve been working in the house industry for a very long time and finding, not only good workers but responsable and good work ethic is very hard to find and retain.

Let’s keep these two workers by letting them know that we are very appreciate of their professional services!!

After reviewing many different roofing options we selected Interlock. The looks couldn't be beat, we selected the Blue Tiled look for our home which is located on a lake. We get many compliments on the appearance.

The entire process was fantastic, from selection, scheduling, installation and follow up. We couldn't ask for a better experience.

I absolutely love my new roof! I wasn't in the market for a new roof at all until I realized I had gone about 12 years without flashings! So I began a search and my sister suggested a metal roof! I found Interlock Metal Roofing! My salesman John Mondschean was very nice,professional and very knowledgable. I have frame home with asphalt siding (changing soon) and Interlock made my house look like a different house! I'm sorry I forgot my installer 's name but he was awesome too! They cleaned behind themselves everyday they came! I love love love my new roof!

My new roof looks great and has been complimented by the neighbors.
The cost was comparable to ribbed steel sheet roofing that I had priced, and the charcoal grey aluminum shingle look is far more attractive. Added advantages include a reduction in insurance costs and a potential EnergyStar tax reduction. Overall, I was very pleased with the professionalism, responsiveness, and congeniality of Interlock staff (John, Jennifer, Allen, Jesse and crew). Emails were answered promptly, and there was phone-call followup as necessary. Jesse communicated regularly, letting me know when he and the crew would arrive, and they positioned the construction materials and the dump trailer perfectly in a fairly tight spot, to allow me to get into and out of my garage. I'm hoping that past ice dam problems are a thing of the past!

The whole experience was such a pleasure. John was an outstanding salesman, Jesse and his crew were perfect. The roof was completed on time with no mess! We LOVE our roof. Our house looks amazing. Thank you Interlock Metal Roofing!

Hopefully, our roof will bear another century of Chicago weather and climate change. Our new Interlock Aluminum roof should do well. The roof stood up well under 39 inches of accumulated snow over ten days in February 2021. The Interlock Industries' workers installed 95 snow guards to breakup snow slides off the roof. The roof is very attractive and my neighbors have complemented the looks of it. The siding on the dormers were also replaced with the aluminum shingles. We had a choice of several shingle colors and chose one called gunflint. The shingles have a slate-like surface that is embossed on the aluminum to give it a textured appearance and perhaps breakup wind and water flows. The Interlock installers removed and sheathed over the chimney and vent caps and added a ridge vent. They installed soffit vents which apparently were never a feature of the house. They removed the gutters and reinstalled them in order to fit the drip edge flashing and lock down the shingles. Everything is fastened with screws powered by cordless screw guns. They did not use air compressors. They had safety lanyards attached to the ridge and foot boards around the perimeter of the roof throughout the installation. We are very satisfied with the look of our new roof. We have installed solar panels which won't have to be removed to re-roof because the roof will probably last longer than the solar panels. We are not young anymore and the long-term value of this project will most likely benefit others and the neighborhood more than us, but for the time being, we are happy customers

After being disappointed with 30 year shingles not lasting 15 years we decided to go with the Interlock roofing. We are very happy with the quality and how great the install looks. This
has really improved the look of our home!

Great Experience and a Quality product. I couldn't be happier with how the roof looks. The install crew did a great job, with minimal mess! I would recommend Interlock to anyone looking for a long term re-roofing solution for their home.

I had an Interlock Metal Roof installed in the summer of 2017. I called for an estimate at the end of May, and a representative showed up promptly. The roof was very expensive, but I sprang for it because I wanted one that would outlast me and my wife, that would reduce the extremely high temperatures in our attic (to avoid damage to the stuff we store there), and that would not shed junk into the gutters as it aged.

In early July the material arrived in large boxes that were stored on my driveway until the installation crew showed up a couple of weeks later.

The installation process went quite well. The crew of about 6 men (it varied from day to day) was efficient and entirely professional. They even had one worker whose sole job was to continuously pick up after the rest of the crew, and consequently, there were no debris at all after the installation was complete.

The roof looks wonderful. The shingles have the appearance of conventional ones, rather than imparting the industrial look that comes with the more common standing-seam metal roofs.

The peak temperature in the attic before installation on a hot sunny day was about 130 deg. After installation in July of 2017, and 2018 and so far in 2019, the peak temperature in the summer has been 115 deg, so it definitely made a difference. Additionally, because the new roof incorporated ventilation provisions (the old roof had no ridge or soffit vents), it feels much less stuffy. We would have had more cooling had we chosen a lighter color (we chose brown for aesthetic reasons), but Interlock's data indicated that the reflectivities of the different color shingles, while substantial when new, converge with age.

One reviewer commented on snow guards. These are essential if you live where it snows. For our modest 1500 sq ft house, the representative recommended 78 guards, and we are glad we accepted his advice. You should be aware, however, that the snow guards do not prevent all snow avalanches. When the snow compacts and begins to melt, it often slides off in huge chunks. The main value of the snow guards seems to be to break up the compacted snow/ice so that it doesn't consist of heavy enough pieces to do serious damage, although it would still be quite unpleasant to be hit in the head by a pile of the stuff. This seems to me to be the only disadvantage of the new roof.

We were concerned about the effect of a metal roof on cell-phone and TV reception. Cell-phone reception was not affected at all, but TV reception of local stations via a small indoor antenna was somewhat degraded.

Another issue that troubles some people is the noise of rain hitting the roof. I don't notice any unusual noise, probably because our living space is very well insulated from the attic.

I've had no leaks or other problems, so I can't comment on after-service. If the roof requires service in the future, I'll update this review.
