I’ve only had take out from The Hen House Eatery and it was a treat to finally dine in here. The food was amazing, wait staff was very friendly plus efficient and the atmosphere was inviting. Definitely would recommend this as the perfect breakfast and brunch spot!

I’ve eaten at many breakfast places in the cities and this is by far the best place I’ve eaten at. A great menu selection that makes me want to come back and try more things. Their variations of cinnamon rolls make me want to try them all. I had the berry cinnamon one and it was amazing. I’m sure they are crazy busy on the weekends but a Tuesday morning was the perfect day to pop in and try it out. Also probably the best biscuits and gravy I’ve had in the cities so far. It wasn’t perfect but it was still damn good. Oh and hash browns that didn’t need ketchup?? Now that’s impressive.

I wanted to try a new place and remembered the Hen House from when a previous job! The dining room is cozy. Seating at tables in the middle, or boths along the window walls. When you walk in you see the merch area and the desserts display. The food was good and flavroful. There was a good mix of breakfast and lunch/dinner items. I enjoyed the quips written on their chalk walls. Due to the small space I can see how the restaurant would get crowded. But it was worth the trek into downtown to try it out.

Super fun place with a great atmosphere and large portions. I recommend coming for breakfast and enjoying one of their massive omelettes.

They don’t have dedicated parking, so prepare to look for a spot on the street and feed the meter. It’s worth the venture.

Every once in awhile I stumble in a destination restaurant. Now, I love breakfast. This place has some of the best breakfast, at least in the state. Day 1 was oatmeal and basic eggs and bacon. Scratch made jam on English muffin. Perfect and simple. Day 2 I went all in on the Biscuits and gravy. That was a home run. Slight peppery taste with other seasonings. Very creamy and the ultra soft biscuits. Oh and the coffee is great too. Add in all the xtra trappings and you have a must eat at restaurant in the heart of Minneapolis.

Hen House is a wonderful little experience! Go early on the weekend because the brunch crowds are real. The wait time wasn't too bad though. The food was delicious! The menu is massive but there are standouts that will make your decision a bit easier. The Herbie sandwich is tasty with the veggie sausage and green forward. The smoked Gouda made it perfection. The hen potatoes were hot and crispy! Definitely worth a visit in downtown Minneapolis!!! Hip atmosphere and super friendly staff

First time coming across chicken and waffles that are gluten free! Was so excited to try them, and they didn’t disappoint. I’m still thinking about this meal. Considering making a trip to the cities again to enjoy. Highly recommend. I will be getting again when I come visits, even though they have lots of great options! Aw I love this place.

Update/Edit: Went back!! It was as good as last time. Really hit the spot for us. Good food, good drinks, overall good time. Will probably go back when I’m in town again, and maybe try a chicken sandwich next time!!

Awesome brunch/lunch spot. Huge menu of options and the classic eggs Benedict knocked it out the park. The bloody Mary was pretty bland unfortunately or this breakfast would've been perfect.

Super great place. At 9:00am. on a Sunday, it was busy, and a long line was formed outside. Walked inside to hostess stand, and there was no waiting for table outside. How phenomenal is that? Fate. Anyway, server came by pretty promptly and took our drink order. Note: menu is large & full of items to choose from. Espresso drinks were good, nothing super fancy. Server was super polite with a smile on her face, very helpful, & gave us her recommendation. She always came at the right times to check on us. Breakfast was delicious! Caramel Roll was warm and gooey, and the main breakfast meal was amazing. Will probably feed me for another 2 days. Definitely will go back! They do serve lunch as well, so will check back here to review that in the future.

This is a perfect spot for breakfast! the parking could be challenging so I recommend visiting on an early morning. The dessert display is phenomenal and very temping. I gave into that temptation and ordered a lemon bar which was delicious. The Chilaquiles are a must - we ordered both red and green.

Ate here for breakfast and it was delicious! We arrived slightly before they opened and the host let us in early because it was cold outside. The food was eggcellent—the fresh squeezed orange juice hit the spot, very good coffee, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The cinnamon roll and bakery items were exceptional, probably should have ordered more!

Great breakfast/brunch spot. The staff are really friendly and work efficiently. The coffee is delicious, I enjoyed their Irish cream cold brew; and the food is great—their lupita burrito is so good. They also have a lot of fun merchandise!

Conveniently located in Downtown, this is a must for breakfast if you are in the area. We stumbled across it on Google and decided to give it a try. It was a sunny Saturday morning and it was packed. There were hordes of people waiting to be seated when we walked up. I’m not sure if this is because it is that popular or if it’s because so many people were in town for The Eras tour. I was pleasantly surprised when our wait for a seat ended being less than 15 minutes. The service was great, especially being as that it was packed inside and they seemed somewhat short on staff. The food was to die for. I had the Crabby Baby Eggs Benedict and the Cajun hollandaise is what made it. The hash-browns were both crispy and velvety, which I don’t know how they achieved. My partner had an omelette and it was big enough for 2 meals at the very least. I tasted a bite and it too was wonderful. The breakfast cocktails looked incredibly appetizing, but we didn’t get around to trying them. We also didn’t get a chance to try any of the mouthwatering items from their bakery, and I have major regrets about that. If I’m ever back in Minneapolis, I’ll be back here for breakfast first thing.

What a wonderful experience! The Foxy Benedict was my first veggie patty Benedict. The spinach pesto was chunky and not wet, english muffin was perfect, eggs perfect, just delicious. The blueberry cream cheese cinnamon roll was an easy sell, the waiter was so friendly. The restaurant is super comfortable and the food was delicious and fast. I'd return again next time we are downtown Minneapolis.

Food was great.
High top table was kinda small for the plate size.
Waitress over charged me the food but it was good. Did not notice until later at my hotel.

Excellent, fast service. Great place to stop by for breakfast, right off the street. Can get a little busy and crazy later into brunch/lunchtime, but if you're not a group you might be able to get in quicker. Cinnamon French Toast were fun. Hash browns are worth coming back for. Southern Waffles were great and filling. The servers were super friendly. Mocha was ok. Hot Chocolate was really good. The decor and chalk writings are awesome! Definitely worth repeat visits!
