Shelterhouse Picnic Area

I saw the shelter house which would be good fro picnics for sizable families. We went on a hike with a guide named Kelsey, she told us how to look for mushrooms in a forest. She was great the walk was great, and we saw quite a few varieties of mushrooms and this was not even the best season for them. I was disappointed it was over that's how much fun I was having. They also have hike for kids and strollers are welcomes. It would have been hard for tots and strollers on this particular hike but they have special one just for them. I love and I am going on another on at Sulphur Springs in a couple day. All this fun for just the gas money to get there. I highly recommend it.

Awesome area to hike!

THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT FOR LARGE GATHERINGS!!! We set up our family reunion and had nearly 120 people show up and it easily accommodated everyone. With plenty of space and beautiful views, this place is a hidden gem!

The South Chagrin Physical Fitness Trail starts and finishes in the parking lot of the Shelterhouse Picnic Area.

Shelterhouse Picnic Area has access to the Fitness Trail and Bridle Trail.

We had a family get together at this location. Very clean, nice size covered shelter, playground and ample parking. It was fun for all! Will definitely return!

A beautiful venue. Perfect for our event. Be aware, no running water at the site. Minor inconvenience and we should have checked. Overall a great place.

3ish inches of snow followed by cold rain. The trails were not appealing, but the all purpose path was plowed. The dog & I got in a couple of miles. It's great to be outdoors. Love this park

It was awesome, very well maintained, I am surprised at the level of cleanliness here, the restrooms, thr trash cans, the whole area was so clean. This what public seeks and it's for public hygiene and health, Thank you for showing concern on these.

On0e side reservation require other first come first get. Nice that there are barbecue grills a plenty. Grounds well maintained.

Huge pavilion, clean, nice. Outside, stand-alone grills, and others built into stone walls. Hiking, horseshoes, fire pit. Park restrooms.

Nice place for a group event. Reservable. Electric available. No running Water. Separate food prep area, , grille,, firepit, , fields for games. .

The Metroparks in Northern Ohio are, in fact, the emerald necklace of this area. This is a lovely park with a pavilion, picnic tables, and a restroom nearby.

You can now reserve half of the shelter otherwise you're not allowed inside nice location great hiking

Always nice to use the shelter huh house as a break in hikes in the South Chagrin Reservation.

Listen people I didn't know this park exist beautiful beautiful and and you think it's far not no permit very clean I advised you to visit

The falls are beautiful! There are picnic tables and nice trails.

I enjoyed this place today my family had a family picnic at this place for the 4th of July. So peaceful and drama free!
