Amazing friendly service. We arrived for our reservation but the table wasn’t ready yet. The owner came over and gave us some Prosecco and let us hang out on their back porch dining area until our table was ready.

Our server was incredibly friendly and gave us great recommendations, also insisted on getting me a new glass of wine when I didn’t love the one I had haha.

And the food! The prices were very fair for both the quality and quantity of food provided. We got the octopus starter, their famous spaghetti, the squid ink pasta, the prawns and the lamb (our favorite!) And to top it off they offered us dessert on the house!

We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in San Francisco, don’t miss this place!

Exceptional food in quaint digs served up with great service. Started with the burrata served with a lemon and EVO drizzle. Bright, fresh and delicious. Then had the spicy octopus stew. Generally I say that if a place can correctly cook pulpo, everything else is bound to be great and that held true here. Spicy, quite hearty, and chock full of delicious octopus. Then had the gnochetti which was exceptional. Imported Sardinian pecorino, bright flavorful sugo and a dang good sauce base. Loved it. Table had some seared lamb as well which was itself, exceptional. A taste of Italy not often experienced. A must check out!

I was referred to this place by a friend. It’s so hard to make a reservation, so we decided to walk in and lucky us, we got bar seating. The food is absolutely amazing with generous portion. I enjoyed the calamari the most with its tenderness, and olive oil aroma. Even though this place is known for seafood, it’s seared lamb definitely goes beyond expectation as well. Will come back!

What a gem! Friends took me to La Ciccia last week for a fabulous Sardinian dinner. The atmosphere, service and food were all excellent. You will need a reservation. We were there mid-week and the place was packed with happy diners. Probably a local favorite. The fish I got (see photo) was a miracle of flavors that combined in beautiful ways. I will definitely return. My dinner companions elicited sounds of happiness as they ate their entrees. The charming owner of the restaurant was a joy to talk with.

I've been hearing high praises from my Italian friends about this place for couple years now. Finally decided to do my birthday dinner here. What a gem! Hands down, the best Italian place I've been in SF and I live in North Beach!

The entire staff is amazing and accomodated our many challenging requests. I'm already planning to come back soon for no particular reason except the delicious food, wholesome vibes, and beautiful people ❤🍝🐟. Whether you are planning a date, girls' night, or special events, please book now, you won't regret it!

Top quality flavor, pasta with a wonderful bounce. Seafood excellent.

Welcoming atmosphere, authentic taste, wine list of varietals hard-to-find outside of Sardinia. A San Francisco gem.

The food is just fantastic. I have been here several times and have tried pretty much everything on the menu and possibly all the wines 😜.
The seafood options are the best though we did try the lamb tenderloin tip as well and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked but I would still stick to the seafood options as that is what they are known for, being a Sardinian restaurant.
The restaurant is small but they do have a courtyard area that would be great when the weather is nice.
The servers were warm and friendly so this added to the pleasure of the evening dinner.

La Ciccia is a gem of San Francisco. If you like Italian cuisine and you like seafood, you must try this Sardinian restaurant, featuring a seafood-heavy Italian cuisine that's unlike most Italian restaurants in the area.

I thought the place closed, and only recently learned that the restaurant survived the original owners retiring. A real estate agent who lived a couple of blocks away and who was a regular customer decided to purchase the business. They kept all the staff, including the head chef. Supposedly, it was just as good as under the original owners.

We were certainly pleased with our visit.

We started with simply grilled squid and an order of their Sardinian flatbread, pane carasau. The flatbread reminds me of Indian papadam, but flavored with olive oil and intense rosemary.
For her entree, Marcia got the house specialty -- homemade spaghetti with spicy olive oil and shaved bottarga (cured fish roe). Whenever we've gone to La Ciccia, at least one of us orders this dish, and in this visit, it did not disappoint.

I decided to try something different and get the fettucine with a tomato and sea urchin sauce, topped with a shaving of cured tuna heart. I love Marcia's pasta with bottarga, but I'm so glad I tried something new. The sauce was amazing -- the tomatoes didn't overpower the sea urchin, and that wonderful flavor of the sea shined right through.

For dessert, we split the chocolate panna cotta. It was fine. Marcia liked it more than me. Toasted hazelnuts added a nice texture and flavor to the dish.

Bottarga pasta was the star of the meal; the pasta was so chewy and it felt like I’m having a spoonful of sea. I wish I can go back and have it again soon!

Sea urchin pasta was delicious too, but not too extraordinary. The roasted calamari appetizer was great; the texture of calamari was soft and tender. Loved dipping the olive oil-based sauce with some breads.

The housemade ricotta with orange mamalade and a drizzle of honey was a perfect finish to the meal.

If you are a seafood pasta lover, definitely recommend this place. I personally liked the uni pasta, very rich and saucy. Fish roe pasta, maybe i thought more of carbonara. If you dont like fish smell, probably try another one. The staffs are really friendly, i think reservation is a must!

Amazing Sardinian restaurant. We were party of 4 and had 2 antipasti, 3 pasta, 1 veggie, and 1 fish dish, plus two bottles of wine. We were able to finish most of them but so full afterwards. Bottarica tasted really good. Also sea urchin pasta and mushroom pasta were nice as well.

Staffs are knowledgeable and friendly. One of the two bottles we ordered was corked and the staff noticed first and gave us the new bottle. We really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant as well. Small but cozy. Selection of wine is quite nice. Must check out this place if you are in town.

Very nice restaurant. Not like the Michelin star restaurants, this one is very warm and more casual. Food is definitely amazing and exquisite. Very tasty and special. Highly recommend. I think it is better than Itria.

My gf and I had made a reservation here for Valentine’s Day, which we’ve had for about a month. Regretfully, I had to cancel last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. I called and spoke with the owner who was incredibly respectful and understanding despite it impacting her business. I’m giving 5 stars for refreshingly great service. We have been dying to come to this restaurant which we’ve heard is a hidden gem. Hoping to make it here soon.

A real gem in SF that specializes in Sardinian cuisine, with a very well curated (and sensibly priced) wine list to match. There are no bad dishes in this restaurant. I always bring a few friends and order my favorites dishes plus one or two special of the day. My favorites: Octopus stew, Fregula with urchin tomato sauce topped with shaved cured tuna heart, and Spaghetti with garlic oil and topped with shaved Bottarga. Sardegna is an island so you'll find the menu to be very seafood-centric, however, the lamb tenderloin is fantastic if you crave something other than seafood. Pro-tip: Corkage is $35 per 750ml, 2 bottle limit per table. However, they will waive one corkage for every bottle purchased from their list. I typically bring an older/aged red and order a white from their list. Vermentino (white) and Cannonau (red, otherwise known as Grenache) are popular pairings with Sardinian food.

My first visit. Not your standard Italian dishes. Four of us shared octopus & squid appetizers, mushroom and pork ragu pastas, shrimp and lamb mains family style. All were excellent and ample portions. Recommended Italian rose was excellent too. Attentive and helpful service. Easy access via three public transit lines, can't comment on parking.

10/10. Absolutely amazing Sardinian spot in Noe Valley. Get the baby octopus and the burrata. The prawns were out of this world! Great service and clean plates with every course.
