Great service, a spectacular view, and a world class treat! Here at Sutro's we dined and watched the sun go down over the Pacific Ocean. The food was well plated and had tons of rich flavors. The waitstaff was highly professional and humorous and we all felt very well taken care of. I know that it's a little on the pricey side but you pay for the ambiance - the one of a kind experience of almost feeling the history of ships sailing into the San Francisco harbor.

A long walk on the beach led us to an unplanned meal here. Despite t-shirts, shorts and sand we were made very welcome in the bistro. Excellent view over the beach / sea, lovely fish dinner (halibut for me) and good puddings. Very enjoyable.

We had an amazing view for a birthday celebration at Sutro's. We made reservations at 5:30 on a Sunday and were lucky enough to be seated right next to the window.

One of our diners was gluten-free and dairy-free, and they were able to accommodate that with ease (we let them know ahead of time with our reservation). For those who can eat gluten, there was high praise for the bread and butter.

Favorite entrees included the lamb (g-free and d-free) and the truffle ravioli. The desserts were beautifully presented, and conversation flowed easily thanks to the quiet, elegant ambiance.

At that time of day, we found parking at the lot just up the road from the Cliffhouse.

This restaurant is great. Been here few times. Always great to make a reservation in advance or the wait time is pretty long.
The food is pretty good. The views are amazing. The service is good. Staff is friendly and prompt.
It’s a great spot for a date or a special occasion to celebrate.
Valet is a better choice since parking around here can get tough.

I took my wife here for a random date and have to say it was totally worth it. Everything we ordered was excellent. We started off with the crab cakes which were so good. I ordered the skirt steak and frites. The borledaise sauce was amazing and the steak was perfectly cooked. I would definitely recommend it. My wife ordered the salmon and raved about it all the way home. You must eat here once if you are in the area. Lastly the views were spectacular. Ask for a window seat.

My sister made a reservation here for my parents 36th Anniversary, perfect place to celebrate this special occasion, 5 stars all around, i can’t say anything bad about this restaurant, highly recommend it to everyone! You won’t regret it, my parents, & I came out from this place real pleased, can’t wait to do another reservation at this place! Breath taking views of Ocean Beach, they have a person playing a harp live! Waiters are super nice! If you tell them your here for a Anniversary, birthday, graduation event, etc..they will personally do a special dessert dish for you with a special message, on the house! I wish i could go on raving about this place, don’t want to spoil it for anybody, it’s better if you personally go & experience it yourself! Enjoy!

Enjoyed lunch in the bistro today and wow the view was incredible and the food was also excellent. I enjoyed fish and chips. Fish was crispy and flavorful and the fries were hot and perfectly salted. Lastly, the wait staff was friendly and conversational and prompt with assistance. Overall, great spot for an unforgettable lunch break.

Beautiful, posh, ocean-view restaurant. Their service was great, and the food was impeccable. Their menu offers creative and simple options, and truly crafts each dish. This is a wonderful spot to go on anniversaries, birthdays, company outings, or any celebrations. Such a gorgeous location and view! I highly recommend the ahi tuna and creme brûlée.

Excellent Christmas Day lunch (albeit without turkey). My friend had the crab-cakes then a large well-cooked slab of halibut. I had the tuna tartare and then Prime Rip. All very good. Great views from our window seats over the Pacific. Recommended.

Situated on the edge of the cliff right across the top hill of ocean beach in the heart of beautiful San Francisco, this place is going to blow your mind off. Amazing, incredible place loaded with delicious food! A must go in the bucket list !

A very pleasant place to spend some afternoon time. Enjoyed the bar, locally brewed draft beer, and a bowl of New England clam chowder, with slices of sourdough bread. The staff, fellow bar patrons, and of course the views are wonderful.

Wonderful restaurant with scenic view located in a historic place just on the cliff. Menu is pretty regular for California restaurants, it has steaks, seafood and even some pasta. However food quality is great and all appetizers and entrees we got a chance to try were delicious. It’s a bit expensive place (I mean more expensive than similar restaurants) but it’s definitely worth to visit and have great food and time!

Really amazing dinner and location. Had the Bacon crusted salmon as a main , fried tempura and bread as a starter. The view over the water at sunset is superb. Very good customer service , nice music and atmosphere

The review is for the Bistro Restaurant. I’m giving it 5* for location/view, 5* for the service and 5* for the food! We went in for lunch around 3pm, and got a table with a stunning view of the ocean! The waiter came by right away happy ro help with any questions! Our drink and a basket of mouthwatering, warm popovers arrived shortly. Our plates didn’t take long either. I had their grilled portobello mushroom sandwich and it was the best sandwich I had in a loooong time: soo savory, so fresh, so delicious! The sandwich came with a side of super yummy garlic fries done to perfection! 😍 Do I need to keep going?! 🤣 Seriously, just stop by, if you get a chance and you’ll be in for quite a treat!

The Cliff House is one of the iconic places to visit whether you're a local or a visitor. From this vista you can see extraordinary sunsets as it dips beyond the Pacific Ocean. Lots of birds abound often hanging out on the nearby rocks just off shore. Many sea lions used to enjoy hanging out on the rocks but many colonies moved to Pier 39 after the earthquake of '89.

There are multiple restaurants and bars within the structure. Enjoy dining at the Cliff house while taking in the beautiful ocean view.

I attended a banquet here which was outstanding. Great staff, excellent food (I had crab stuffed ravioli, my husband had salmon, both were delicious) and on a clear night you can see both the sunset and the moon rising. Just simply spectacular. Be sure to visit especially if you are a local, it's not just for visitors!

We felt like a drink and some apps so we hit the Cliff House.

Obviously it pretty touristy but damn-! You can't beat that view.

We had crab cakes and fried calamari with a couple cocktails.
The drinks were awesome, well balanced and flavorful.
The apps, were perfect as well. The crab cakes were full of crab unlike a lot of cakes with mostly breading. The dipping sauce was a great compliment as well. Now, the calamari. Perfectly fried, not soggy at all, no dripping grease, crunchy until the end. And the lemon, garlic aioli was awesome with it.

We ended with some cheesecake and and Irish Coffee. We couldn't decide between that and the cream brulee. We asked our server Dan and he said "Hands down, the cheesecake" great choice Dan-!!

After drinks and apps, we walked around outside and went down to the Giant Camera. Well worth the 3 bucks. Very cool.

So, if you're not from the area and just visiting, its obviously a place you must go to. If you live in the area or even somewhere in the Bay Area, I suggest you go (or go again) enjoy what's in your backyard. Just go and enjoy a little time, especially around sunset.

Amazing Cioppino with great service, clam chowder, sangrias and long island teas. Calamari and burgers were great as well :) only issue is that the fish and chips had too much chips!

My favorite place to eat. When visiting north. The food, always outstanding. Service, polite and attentive! More than 5 stars. In my book... I love their scallops and couscous. Yummy

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to! We started off with the Dungeness crab cakes. I highly recommend these! They were super moist and creamy. My husband got the scallop and shrimp scampi and I got the salmon. Both were phenomenal. Dessert was the lemon soufflé and wow...it knocked our tastebuds right off our tongues! So delicious. We will be back!

Cliff house is my favorite place to eat at in SF. Yes, the allure is the magnificent views (even on a cloudy day) but the food is always good. From the bistro, bar, restaurant...Always good. I love the espresso martinis here. Service is awesome as well.
