I always love a good affordable Chinese bakery, no matter where I go! The egg tarts ($2 each) were insanely thick, creamy, and hot out of the oven. Not the mention the crust was perfectly flaky and crispy!

I also liked their fluffy sponge cakes (so soft and fluffy!) and a couple other of their cheap bread options. Definitely a great place to get some affordable yet high quality Chinese baked goods for breakfast or a snack, probably one of the best bakeries in SF Chinatown!

My favorite egg tarts in the Chinatown that I can easily get. Fresh bolo baos are amazing and their sponge cakes are nice and fluffy. I’m also partial to the flaky pastries, especially the curry beef pastry.

Amazing egg custard tarts!
I’ve had a ton and make it a point to try them at places whenever I’m out for dim sum or at a Chinese bakery
The ones here are larger than average , fresh, not too sweet and super flaky . 10/10

AA Bakery's buns are top notch. Today I had their ham & egg bun $1.50 and a pork bun $1.50. The ham & egg bun is made with an actual fried egg. Most bakeries will use a steamed egg slice made with beaten eggs and water. Both buns tasted great with slight hint of sweetness. I got here after 6pm and was surprised they were still open. Good job staff at AA Bakery.

Such good pineapple buns. We went at about 4pm and they had so many buns! We got fresh pineapple buns and they were amazing - warm with a soft bun and a crispy sugar topping. They take credit cards too which is nice if you are looking for a bakery that isn’t cash only :)

The pineapple custard bun was the pinnacle. Every donut I’ve ever had I have wanted to taste just like this.
The dough is perfect. The crunch is just right. The custard is creamy and nothing is too sweet.

Buy extra! You’re gonna want ‘em.

My favorite egg tart in Chinatown. Golden Gate Bakery gets all the hype, but those egg tarts are almost double the prices of the ones here, so hit up this counter instead.

Coffee was amazing. Cookies great. Cake tastes like you are not eating good ingredients.

Lemon Swiss Roll was $1.20. Japanese Cheesecake was $2.25. Both were really good. Rating is for the taste and prices. Their service was something else.

Pineapple custard bun is soooo delicious. I always come back for these when I come to SF. The top is crumbly and I just have no words to describe it.

Buns are really good taste. I recalled the taste of bread when I was a small kid in my hometown in Japan. Assume the way to bake bread is somehow in good old style.
I especially like coconut cream bun and sesame fried rice-cake ball. Egg tart is also nice!

Delicious dim sum! Saw they were a part of SF restaurant week so I gave them a try. Their pork bun got my hooked- it had more filling than some of the other dim sum places in the area, and was only around $1.50. Their pineapple buns are perfect- not too sweet and they were just warm enough! (And for only $1 so of course I got a half dozen) Their egg custard has SUCH an amazing crust to it- if you’re a fan of custard give it a try!

I went two days in a row, and the staff was polite and quick both trips. You can dine it but it’s a small space, so be mindful of this- especially on weekends.

Get the Pineapple Bum, Egg tart, Coconut Macaroon, Coconut Tart and Butter Cake......they were great and their prices are extremely fair. When you visit the store you feel in another world. The staff is very nice
