Whole Cakes - Potrero Hill

Placed the order for a birthday cake - Green tea matcha, and had to pick up only from this location (not SoMa). The green tea cake was so soft and light, and just the perfect sweetness that I loved. Great to know that they use organic ingredients most of which are locally sourced. Can't wait to try other flavors, special occasion or no.

Ended up going again to try the earl grey and coffee lovers cake. Wasn’t disappointed at all.

Whole Cakes (Sonya) provided the cake for our Yosemite elopement and I could not have been more pleased!!

Sonya was a total hero when it came to our cake. She took my order at the last minute and went way above & beyond for us - making special accommodations to let us pick up our order outside of their regular business hours and even staying up long after the sun went down when our travel was delayed by several hours. I am SO incredibly grateful!

We got the Signature Green Tea cake and the Meyer Lemon Raspberry cake. Both were beautiful and super, super yummy - full of flavor and perfectly moist. I would highly recommend getting your cake from Whole Cakes for any occasion or just because!

One of the best cakes I've ever had! I ordered the 8" Signature Green Tea Cake for a birthday and it was divine. Everyone loved that it wasn't overly sweet and the texture was perfectly light and fluffy. I will definitely order from here again for future occasions!

I normally do not like or eat cake, but the cakes at Whole Cakes are an exception I will always make. Their flavors are unique, the texture of the cakes are fluffy amazing goodness, and the frosting isn’t overly sweet.

The cake quality is 10/10- they make high end Japanese bakery style cakes that you can also get by the slice.

The espresso drinks are perfect— as good as when you order from Four Barrel!

The pastries are delicious, my very small complaint is that I just wish they were 20% bigger given how high the prices are. Overall it is a beautiful and well run bakery.

Stop by a little snack, coffee and home made butter Croissant.

Someone there is a classically trained pastry chef! The chocolate genoise cake was excellent- perfectly moist and its structure was phenomenal. The whipped cream frosting had the right amount of sweetness and the berries were fresh and tart!

Excellent bakery/ coffee shop in Potrero Hill - Been here a couple of times.

Everything is yummy and caringly baked by the incredibly hard-working owner and team. However, some of the prices are so high I can not bring myself to pay them. Example: the scones are great – although not the best in the city. They are however the most expensive and SMALLEST I’ve had in the city. If the scones and pastries were more generously sized, I’d buy them all the time.

I ordered the triple summer berry cake for my boyfriend’s picnic party. It was absolute delicious! I am someone who appreciates light cream cakes, and this was perfect. It was a great dessert option which was not too heavy or too sweet!

I love whole cakes! A great neighborhood spot. Good coffee, and all the pastries including the cakes are awesome.

Picked up the most delicious cake for my daughter’s 2nd birthday. Triple citrus was light, fluffy, refreshing - everything we wanted it to be. We’ll definitely be back!

The BEST bakery in SF! Highest Quality organic cakes, cookies and pastries. I miss the original Mission Street location - went every morning for the best gluten free muffins / banana bread pre-covid. Sonya and her staff are wonderful, talented, generous and exceptional attention to detail.

Amazing! Had a truly perfect cup of coffee from here, as well as a little sampling of some pastries, each more tasty than the last. Unfortunate that they opened in the middle of a pandemic, but they meticulously sprayed down the register both before and after my transaction and so I feel completely safe returning again soon.

I went there today and got a blueberry muffin. Really good! Perfect balance of savory and sweet. They have a lot more than cakes and still open during the SIP (as of 3/21)

Cool spot to go check out! Their Strawberry shortcake was delicious! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Can't wait to try out more of their cakes and desserts!

Delicious cakes at pretty affordable prices. Yummy flavors. My fav is the pecan walnut cake, the candied walnuts on the cake toppings were to die for !!
