Harry's Steakhouse is a refined, classy steakhouse exceeding expectations. The elegant ambiance and professionally attentive service set the stage for a fabulous dining experience, while expertly prepared dishes like rich onion soup and perfect medium-rare ribeye delivered on taste. Whether sipping a well-mixed cocktail or savoring melt-in-your mouth beef paired beautifully with sides like crispy Brussels sprouts, every component harmonized into a thoroughly satisfying evening out. For one of the best steakhouses in town, I highly recommend Harry's.

A high end steak house that lives up to it's reputation. Highly recommend but be prepared to open your wallet wide for this one...

The sommelier was very helpful. Help was needed because the wine list is the longest I have ever seen (50+ pages).

Food was perfect in every way. Hoping to return soon!

This steakhouse was delicious. We tried a platter that had filet mignon (literally the best I ever had in my entire life), aged beef and lamb chop. It was also served with asparagus and au gratin potatoes. There were several servers making the rounds to make sure drinks and bread were topped off. All were friendly. You must be prepared to drop some serious money here if you come.

This has to be one of the best steakhouses in the country. If you love prime rib, you must try the bone in prime rib! I have to warn you though, bring your appetite because it is gigantic. Choose the scalloped potatoes, Delicious!

Really good steak. Old school steakhouse serves up great classic dishes. Traditional plates really shine at this location. The porterhouse was on point. The shrimp cocktail was fresh and the tartare was well done. Don’t sleep on the sides too. The vegetables were handled with care. The service is top notch. Harris is a great place to celebrate an occasion or simply have a night out with your partner. A definite revisit is in order. Did steaks up 🥩🥩

Harris' doesn't disappoint. We go here for our anniversary every year, and every year is the same top notch quality of steaks, service and overall atmosphere. They always give us a complementary small pudding or some sort of dessert for our anniversary, which is the icing on the cake. This time we tried the soup of the day which was baked potato soup with truffle, and it was probably one of the best soups I've ever had. We've also previously enjoyed their cauliflower soup, which was equally one of the best. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and the au gratin potatoes are to die for. Everything was amazing as usual.

There are no doubt superlatives written about Harris’. I will write only about one dish: the 2 1/2 lobster🦞.
Going to a steakhouse 🥩 for a lobster? I was going for the famous steaks too. But when I saw the weight of the lobster 🦞 as 2 1/2 lobsters I had to try it.
That big guy was pulled fresh from the tank in the kitchen. I could still taste the sea water in the meat of the claws.
Many times I’ve had lobster tail. Always frozen, around a pound. Might as well be a different animal.
The claws were so delicate and tender.
You are served the whole rig: shell cracker, slender meat tines, and a bib. Had to wear the bib if only for show.
After I worked through the both claws, which was a lot of lobster, I still had the tail. After I ate the first half of the tail, I thought, there still more lobster! This is a lot of lobster.
The meal was served with scalloped potatoes and sautéd vegetables. 🥕.
The dish was expensive, “A.Q.” But I walked into Harris’ knowing it wasn’t low budget.
I walked out knowing that I had dined on the most delicious dish I had eaten in my live. What price can you place on that?
Go to Harris’, order the lobster 🦞, and be amazed.

The extravagant dining area decked with wooden panels, leather booths, and high ceilings with majestic brass chandeliers will make you feel every bit regal when you walk in Harris'. One of our favorite dining experiences, Harris' has been a San Francisco institution serving an array of steak options for steak enthusiasts. We started off with the steak tartare - the beef was extremely fresh, almost melting in our mouth. For the main course, we had the Harris steak and Bone-in ribeye. The Harris steak was undoubtedly the winner. Juicy and tender with a unique taste in every bite, this steak most certainly is their OG. The bone-in ribeye was good, though I should've ordered medium rare as opposed to medium minus. Always stick to the golden standard! Being a truffle fanatic, I had to order their truffle madeira sauce on the side. Though the steaks are perfectly seasoned, this sauce elevates the meat flavors to a whole different level. Also, it's not very often that you see truffle sauce served along with steak, so do give it a shot. The side of creamed spinach and potatoes complemented steaks very well. One of the best creamed spinach I've had in a while. Their mango jalapeño martini surely has that spicy edge to it that will set the mood for a decadent evening. The service was impeccable, with utmost attention given to plating and presentation. This restaurant also offers valet parking, which is an added bonus, as finding parking space on ever busy Van Ness street can be challenging. I will most certainly be going back to try other steaks from their menu. A definite 10/10 droolworthy experience.

My favorite restaurant in San Francisco. It has it all. NYC feel and charm. Absolutely gorgeous inside. I don’t eat meat but I do eat fish and I had one of the best meals of my life here. Live jazz is hard to find in a restaurant these days and this place has the best every night. Service friendly and impeccable. LOVE IT❣

Go for a more spacious and gracious experience vs The House of Prime Rib. World class service. All the traditional steak house dishes prepared to perfection. Check out their bar room for live jazz trio and generously portioned cocktails.

Amazing. Exceeded expectations. The decor, atmosphere, service, and food were absolutely amazing! Totally worth the trip!

The executive cut of the prime rib totally stole the show! Like 1.5 inches thick almost! It's a huge chunk of steak for sure! Cooked to perfection! The au jus and horseradish really kicked it up a notch. The scalloped potatoes were cheesy. And the creamed spinach completed the ensemble nicely.

The bone in ribeye had the most amazing beefy flavor ever. On the rare side and was super tender and flavorful. I don't think I've ever had such flavorful steak ever. This was very tasty even compared to the ribroast.

The fried scallop appetizer was good. Crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside.

The Pavlova dessert was light and fruity. We were stuffed at the time from the steak. Thus light and creamy dessert really hit the spot.

Service was on point. It's definitely got that old school vibe. Very classy from atmosphere to the staff. A must visit in SF and for steak lovers.

How have I not been here yet?

Service is amazing, almost choreographed. Authentically great server that really made us feel special. And of course, the food, a real step above -- way above.

The meats (and cuts/portions) on the menu were of great variety (prime rib, NY and even Wagyu -- both domestic and Japanese).

We were all commenting about how fantastic everything was (mostly later in the meal because at first we were just making animal noises and eating).

Come here.

We have eaten at Harris’ restaurant often. The food is delicious, especially the steak tartar and crab cakes for appetizers. We have never had a bad meal. The staff is friendly and attentive. We usually eat in the bar area because we like the ambiance there.

Best American restaurant I've been to in San Francisco. The atmosphere was very nice and the waiters were really kind people. I recommend their steak and mushrooms.

we were walking by and saw this outside steaks in the window. Had to go in at that point.

Sat at the bar, really cool atmosphere terms of the architecture the old wood bar.

Service was polite very helpful and provided great suggestions.

Ordered the steak tartare appetizer. One of the best I’ve ever had. my girlfriend and I both said better than the steak tartare we’ve had in Paris.

Steak was really good we had the bone-in ribeye and may I say the sides were delicious. The cream spinach was out of this world perfect flavors.

Overall loved about this meal was it was not oversalted it was cooked perfectly, herbs flavors in the side dishes from the scallop mashed potatoes to everything else the perfect amount of seasonings.

Would I go here again? absolutely

Who doesn't like a great classic steakhouse? In a city where Michelin Star restaurants are on every corner, it's nice to know you can get some classic upscale comfort food in a big ol' grilled dry aged steak with creamed spinach and potatoes au gratin.

Fried scallop appetizer - this was a special recommended by our excellent waiter. The outside added just the right amount of crunch without overcooking the scallop. This was served with a mild chili sauce.

Wedge Salad - This was one of the more tasty Wedge salads I've had. I was sharing with a friend, and our waiter and kitchen was nice enough to cut it in half and plate each half for us separately. Plenty of tasty blue cheese dressing.

24 oz Dry Aged Porterhouse with creamed spinach and scalloped cheesy potatoes. This had a great dry aged flavor. When you walk in you can see where they are dry aging their own beef on premises. I forget how many days they dry age their steak, but I doubt it was the usual 28 days to get that distinct flavor from the steak. Cooked it a perfect medium rare with a nice crust to it. Not much seasoning needed, just some salt and butter on top. Sides were excellent as well.

I've eaten at some of the best steakhouses in the country, and I can say Harris' Restaurant is in the top tier for sure.

Great ambience, lovely dining experience. Chonky dry aged steaks. Really liked the crab cakes here, and that pistachio creme brulee was so so scrumptious!

Only letdown was the waiter suggesting I go medium rare instead of the rare I usually order. Was not worth. But I enjoyed my partner's steak instead.
