Greg and his team in the shop are amazing! We ran into an issue with an order that was out of their control and they stepped up and took care of it faster than I could have ever expected! Super friendly and helpful! My boyfriend was staying at a hotel in the area and I wanted to make his travel day a little easier. They were able to recommend some great local beers based on his favorites back home. Then, their delivery service had it waiting at the front desk of his hotel for him for when he checked in. He was so surprised and loved the beers they recommended. Really great guys and really amazing service.

They have a great selection of beers and alcohol here. Prices are very good; the staff is very friendly and experienced. They usually do beer tastings on Friday and wine tastings in Thursday, which are a great way to learn what you should be drinking and meet some locals.

Owners are really knowledgeable and will guide you to the right choice, based on your flavor, price, and pairing preferences. Great bargain wines up front, with more expensive ones throughout the store. Strong beer and hard alcohol selection. Beer tasting (favorite!) on Fridays and wine tasting on Thursdays.

What a homey, friendly atmosphere. We were helped by Gino, he told us about their upcoming beer tastings and warmly invited us to join. Seems to be a family-owned operation (Mike is the manager) and they have a really great sour beer selection!

Bought a first visit bottle of wine here. Great service, great advice. Ended up beign a much loved, aged Merlot.

The place is way retro. Think about it classic old liquors store. The people are really up to date on drinks and drinking. They are not so helpful when trying to find stuff in the isles but once I went and asked a guy to help me find it he did. But he walked by me several times before he even greeted me. Great selection. Classic older crowd working the counter. Not a bad place. The stuff I got was cheaper than any other place I've been.

In addition, they have a lot of great ingredients to make cocktails with too. I've mostly purchased wine and spirits here, but word on the street is they have a decent beer selection too.

The Jug Shop is one of the best liquor stores in SF. They have a great selection of wines and spirits. Their beer selection is more minimal, but has some good craft options.

Nicest folks - def good people who know their stuff. A big shop with great selection but a good neighborhood feel. They've got great vendor relationships all over the Bay Area, so they always have something interesting.

The jug shop is a local institution gracing the Polk Gulch neighborhood for decades now. Family owned and operated. Amazing selection of wines, liquor and beer they have soft drinks and snacks as well. Anything from a can to go to celebration champagne. If you are looking to order something custom y’all with them most likely they can get it in. Amazing selection of craft beer. The have a wide variety of keg offerings and will custom order kegs with notice. Don’t hesitate to entrust them with your party needs. Of course they have ice too!

Favorite beer store in SF. You can find rare Belgians and rare American Oale Ale from near SF (that is code for something). Be nice to the great staff here and they will be nice to you. I stop by every time I am in the city.

Excellent weekly wine and beer tasting. Interesting yet affordable collection and very knowledgable staff – we've yet to be disappointed by a recommendation from them. Also sells mead, which I don't often see in other wine and liquor shops.

Neighborhood liquor store. You can find wine and spirits of all kinds. I was able to find a rare bottle of rose that I have searching for months.

A very eclectic and extensive selection of liquor, beer & wine. I lose track of time browsing the beer selections- almost minus 1 star because the beer pricing isn't evident, and most of the time I'm not in the $9+ for 1 beer financial status.
