AMC Metreon 16

Had a good experience at AMC. The recliners are great and the theatre is well maintained. The sound and the video were perfect. It was my first experience of watching a movie in The States so I am quite satisfied with it. There is a lot of options for food nearby as well if you’re hungry.

This movie theater is 1 of only 2 real imax theaters in the bay area if not for a 100 miles plus counting Dublin. It's a very nice theater on the eyes. Good customer service. Great seating to enjoy ur movie. No complaints.

It was nice. Seats are so comfy. If they reclined any farther I would fall asleep so they were perfect. The concession area was clean. The bathrooms were clean.

This was my first experience at this AMC Theater. I was very pleased to know that they honored my A-List subscription from Vegas. The movie theaters were clean; all of the staff was friendly the popcorn was fresh at the concession stand. And more importantly, I was amazed at the beauty and cleanliness of the Woman's Restrom. Pictures are attach. I will certainly be returning to this theater in the near future.

Very much worth going to see an IMAX screening at this theater. Spectacular giant screen (2+ stories tall!) and amazing sound. Will go again!

I went to see oppenheimer in imax 70mm film. easily one of the best experiences I've ever went to, and definitely the best movie theater I've ever gone to and probably will ever go to. 75 FT tall and 90 FT wide screen. I sat right in the middle and it was amazing, I will be going back in March to watch dune part 2 in the same theatre. Also, when you go up the elevator/escalator your right in front of where you get food and drinks, also conveniently right in front of auditorium 16 AKA the 70mm imax screen. they had like 7 soda machines and the people there were nice. such a good experience and can't wait to go again.

Have loved coming here for years. I got to see episodes 1, 2, and 3 of Star Wars here when they came out. I am going to see the opening of Kung Fu panda 4 this friday!!! Hope to see you there!!

Everything is clean here. It was such a wonderful experience watching Batman in this IMAX Theater. The screen is huge and the seat is very comfortable. I am so envious of people living in San Francisco that they have such a great cinema.

Imax and 70 millimeter and some really great seats

Not too many crowds these days...city views are fantastic. Can bring in food from Chipotle or other spots downstairs. Always a good spot to catch a flick.

This place is HUGE - it takes up the whole 3rd floor! 😲 We got lost on the way out just trying to find the elevator!🙃 Because I use a wheelchair, people accompanying me get the best seats in the house (leather RECLINERS!) What fun!

The best IMAX theater in California. Featuring dual laser projection, movies like Dune, 007 No Time To Die, and Eternals will run in there full 1.43:1 aspect ratio. Worth every dollar of the $17-$23 ticket

Well maintained theater despite the massive amounts of traffic it gets. Includes MacGuffins bar, which is great if you like booze with your movies. The recliners aren't super comfortable for me but maybe because I'm short. Dolby and IMAX are awesome.

Probably my favorite movie theater in the city. If a movie is only playing in select theaters, you can almost always count on it playing at this theater. The seats are very comfortable and altogether the movie-watching experience is great - the screens are big, there is enough incline that you can see the screen well from every seat, and the theaters are great at canceling noise from the theaters next door. The interior design has that awesome retro movie theater feel, but the amenities like the fountain drink stations and the bathrooms are very modern. Food and ticket prices are pretty expensive here, but nothing out of the ordinary for San Francisco movie prices. Finding the theater inside Metreon can be a surprisingly difficult task for first-timers, especially at night, so keep that in mind if it's your first time coming to this theater.

AMC Metreon movie theater is nearly perfect. Large reclining seats, reserved seating, a wide variety of standard, and 3D screen options, soft drinks, water, slurpee, alcoholic beverages, and standard movie theater fare. It is not perfect due to the seemingly indifferent staff, and movie theater food that neither has a wide selection, nor Innovative cuisine, as is the trend in other movie theaters trying to personalize the experience. 16 movie theater available. Clean, gender-specific bathrooms. Wheelchair accessible, with elevator, escalators, and stairs. Nearby garage parking at the Fifth & Mission Garage. $$$ out of $$$$$ with AMC Stubs, and a list memberships (about $15 per year), to avoid service charges, and upgrading size on Coca-Cola, and popcorn options, not to mention a dedicated FasTrak line for concessions, and ticket scanning. Many other goodies available too, making the annual fee worth it. I would recommend AMC Metreon 16 movie theater.

San Francisco AMC Metreon 16 has 3D LAZER movies. Amazing sharp, the 3D is vivid and in your face, but at $25 per ticket, that's what I want.

An AMC in the SF Bay Area with real IMAX, some friends of mine are obsessed with seeing Nolan & great films in IMAX, they make it a point to not go to other IMAX's in the area that advertise IMAX but aren't. But Dolby is my favorite format. This one is ease to commute than Bay Street, even though I'm coming from the East Bay because it's 5 blocks from the Montgomery subway station versus catching the free Emery-Go Round shuttles at the MacArthur station, if you miss one you'll wait 15-35 min, better than a 5 block walk which there isn't a wait time. This location is in the downtown, if you're early (which is better since you're seeing a movie) there's a lot to do or food to pick from. The Metreon building of which AMC Metreon is inside has 7 restaurants, vending machine that serves ramen and a milk tea place, Target inside too. Staff can be more engaging, but they do there job, large variety at concessions. On a budget, want to be supportive of the cinema, just buy a (regular) drink anything more and you'll may a bit more or twice your ticket. Bathroom, hallway, and auditorium are maintained. IMAX is massive, not my cup of tea, Dolby is where it's at. For the flash backs, they're always digital, the smaller rooms on the right once they scan or take your tickets. Still great. Highly recommend if you're in the SF Bay Area.
