I couldn't have been happier with my birthing experience at Catawba Valley. The nurses were so sweet. My team of people in the operation room was literally a super hero team. I wish I remember there names.. so I could thank them all. ❤ the Doctor, Hematologist, nurse, and guy that gave the medicine. Thank you so much! Your kindness and professionalism means the world to me and my family.

Went there earlier around 830pm because we had assumed my son had meningitis, they took him back quickly and got him in a room way faster than I expected. The doctor that took care of him tonight was super nice and made sure to run any test she could to rule out the possibility of any other illness so we wouldn’t have to take the drastic measure of having to do the meningitis testing, which is not pleasant at all. Turns out my son just had a bad virus thankfully. she didn’t make us feel bad for wasting her time & she even spent a few extra minutes talking to me to make sure I was feeling okay too and reassured me that I’m doing a great job as a parent and that she was proud of me. The reviews from other people made me worry about bringing my child here, even though I’ve been seen here multiple times, but I’m happy that we actually had a good experience tonight at this hospital.

My wife had a minor procedure on her knee last week in the Day Surgery Department. From the time we arrived until we departed several hours later it was a solid 10 out of 10 experience. From the young lady who checked us in to the nurse/assistant who wheeled her out it was a refreshing experience. The waiting room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Everyone was very friendly and considerate. If hospital services are required in the future we will definitely choose CV.

Leo at the emergency room was fantastic. I went in for severe back pain. He did every thing he could think of to find an answer. He said I was completely healthy but recommended I see an OBGYN. He was very nice and knowledgeable. Thank you for your work!!!

My husband was brought in by ambulance yesterday evening. From the minute he arrived, his care has been outstanding. The nurses, CNAs, therapists, doctors and specialists have all been excellent. They are patient, kind, extremely competent, and seem to love their work. Thank you to each and every one of you!

I had to be driven in to the ER by my better half due to being in so much pain. I was a little concerned when we pulled up and saw all the construction going on at the entrance to the ER, but that was where the concern stopped. The folks at the check in station were very nice and understanding, they got me checked in, took vitals, and got me back into a bed in about 10 minutes.

We arrived just before a shift change, but we wouldn't have know that with how polite and professional the nurses and doctor were. They got me hooked up, settled in, asked a lot of questions about my situation, and got me examined before the shift change. They handed off to the next shift and the care didn't change, the next shift was just as professional and polite.

Everyone we interacted with was like that, from check in to the OR. Don't let the construction fool you, the place is still running fully and full of good folks from our experience.

We just delivered our twins here, and the nurses and staff are phenomenal. We came down here from Sparta to deliver with Kristy, as she is who delivered our first son. And lemme tell you, she’s by far the best I’ve ever thought of! She’s a pleasure to be around, even in stressful times as such!

There is alot going on here. The ER was busy and we waited several hours plus they are remodeling but that will eventually benefit everyone and has to be done at some point! The nurses work hard but seem a bit overworked. The traveling nurse we talked to says that help is a problem everywhere she goes. All the nurses I had were great and attentive Jamila ( I believe it was), haylee and all the nurses that came in besides them were great. My emergency appendectomy that I had Saturday morning went great, so far so good!! Given how life has changed so much over the last few years I appreciate all the hard work these workers go through to take good care of people they don't even know.

My wife and I welcomed our first born at Catawba. Every single staff member that we came in contact with was amazing. They made sure that we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant experience. The nurses were phenomenal, the midwives and doctors were very knowledgeable and professional. They treated us with dignity and respect. We couldn’t have asked for better care. Keep doing what you’re doing, CVMC! Excellent job!

I spent all of last week in the hospital. I have Copd. I was admitted to the 3rd floor. I felt like warmed over sh--. I was treated wonderfully by the first and second shift. They checked on me often to see if I needed anything. There were two nurses that made me feel better (Isis and Jamie). I truly believe the laughter and joy that they gave helped me get better. The other person was the woman who gave me my meals all week. I didn't get her name but she was the one that pushed the food cart most of the time I was there. They deserve to be celebrated. Thank you ladies for all your help and for not making me feel like a burden.

This has got to be one of the best hospitals I've ever been in! They rank right up there with Wake Forest Baptist!!!!! My nurses have been so amazing as well as the doctors!!! So compassionate and you can tell they love their job! When I get back on my feet I am going to bring them something to show my appreciation <3 I am on the 4th floor in room 443-B I'm still here I just want to brag on the amazing care I am receiving from the ER Monday night to the wonderful people doing my scans and tests and the nurses and all the docs from the ER to the ones I have up here while I am in here Dr Grey and Dr Hata!! and the PCM ladies I've met as well!!! <3

Very helpful, friendly people who are sensitive to patient needs. I was actually there to support a friend but they allowed me in to be with her. I appreciated the level of security they used in allowing me in with her. Attending staff were knowledgeable and offered a full explanation of her condition and encouraged questions if she had any.

Had spinal surgery at CVMC 5 days ago and I have to say that if you have to have surgery, the experience I had was amazing. Pre-op went very smooth and my nurses were kind and reassuring. My anesthesiologist and his nurse came to my pre-op room to introduce themselves. Meredith was so sweet and made me feel less nervous about undergoing general anesthesia. Dr Knapp (best orthopedic surgeon ever!) came in next and made sure I had no additional questions about my procedure and said he'd see me in the OR! My IV placement was perfect and the next thing I knew, Michael, my recovery nurse was bringing me back to my room. Beth was my nurse overnight and she did a great job monitoring me while also trying to let me get rest. Melissa was my day nurse and she was wonderful about getting me discharged effectively and quickly. I was starving from not eating in 36 hours and a young lady named Michelle brought me an uncrustable (which I was craving), a brownie, and a bag of chips, and a drink! That may have been the most delicious meal I've ever eaten as I was so hungry! My entire stay was as good as could be from beginning to end. I was well cared for, my pain was adequately controlled, and I was treated with kindness and respect. These health care professionals were absolutely amazing and I am so appreciative!

Catawba was amazing at taking care of me when I had my son prematurely. They were very attentive to me and the NICU staff is wonderful! A lot of hospitals get bad ratings lately due to being short staffed or as we all know having to work many shifts without a break but I can say they do a great job. The ER gets a bad rating because there are always so many people in there and only so much staff. So I want to give a big thank you to catawba, NICU staff and the birthing center for taking care of me and continuing to be so caring and attentive to my son.

This hospital was Top Notch. For those of you bit*hing because you had to wait for a room, BECOME A Nurse or a CNA and go work for a hospital. When I was in there the staff was unbelievably Great. We had to be airlifted to CMC Mainafter spending 8 days in Catawba and I am here to tell you, spend a night of 2 more weeks at CMC Main and see if you have something to complain about. That was the shi*tiest hospital in the entire world. CVMC, you guys are wonderful and the hospital was so clean. CMC Main, we were lucky to have the room cleaned every Other day. The staff at CMC Main was HORRIBLE!! Catawba Valley Medical center is Far superior to Frye Reginal Hospital in Hickory AND WAY BETTER than CMC Main. The food at Catawba Valley Hospital was Wonderful. I have nothing bad to say about anything at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
Thank you to all the staff that took Great care of us while there.

I gave birth via c section in November 2018 and I had the most amazing experience possible. My midwives were all so very supportive and I was treated like a queen. I had an emergency c section and they made me feel so so so comfortable. My healing process was so amazing I truly am very thankful I chose Catawba valley medical center instead of Frye. They kept me nice and medicated for pain, they supplied me with anything and everything I needed. Most importantly my c section healed so beautifully. Also they did my sons circumcision at 5 days old and it was beautifully done. He healed in about 5 days with little to no pain. If I have another child I would travel across state lines just to be able to deliver at catawba.

In all my almost 43 years of living I have never received such warm, caring, loving, compassionate and funny service from every single staff, nurse, and Dr. I can never tell anyone enough good things about this place , nor the great experience they gave me in care. Because there is just not the words. I truly believe not only do I highly recommend this hospital, I also feel if anyone has it in their hearts to ever want to donate to a hospital, or supplies, or anything at all for this hospital, in any and all needs they may have. Please do! Please consider donating here, because not only do they deserve it and work so hard, but we take for granted good people especially in the health care profession and we need them. They keep us going, they keep us ticking and running so we can go back to a healthy life or family we so dear want to. So, please consider coming here if need to, or if want your family in good hands, as well as send donations to help keep this marvelous place going. It is definitely well worth it.

0n a personal note thank you to each and everyone of you who was apart of my time here ,without you I wouldn't be here. I am grateful for every last one of you.. Whether just joking or good care you all did an amazing job and should be proud of yourselves! This is what we need in this world more people just like you guys! You are doing everything right keep up the great work! And thanks again for all your help and great care and service. May God bless you each richly both in heart, and in life! And may God bless this hospital and continue to help and watch over eeveryone. With all my love thank you!

This review is for the birthing center! I had both my boys here 4 years apart and both time have been a real pleasant times. This review will be for the most recent birth January 2019. All attending nurses to me from the time I got there at 6am till the time I left was just phenomenal people! My nurse that was there with me through my whole labour was wonderful and so precise that I felt loved and cared for to another level! I felt blessed to be having my baby on that day, like it was meant to be. Thanks for taking such great care of me!

My son had a food allergy. His eye and throat had started to close up. They rushed us in back fast! The one nurse made bed up in less than a second. For it being a full house tonight they responded quickly. I am still so impressed. I'm write a letter because I'm touched how they cared for boy. They were concerned, passionate and quick. The team on February 4, 2019 at about 10pm till about 2 or 2 30 am next day shift was awesome. They all did an excellent job. From the nurse that checked us in to his doctor to the nurse that gave me coffee. So sweet. Thank you so much!!! Ten stars if I could.
