The Rodeo Burger was great! And the wood fire smell was awesome! Would definitely come back! Also we are from Wisconsin and the owner Bruce was a pleasure to talk to!

Although the food was just ok to me.... The atmosphere made up for it. I'd definitely visit again if I'm ever in town.

We walked in about 8, and there was one other couple. Wasn't sure if we should sit at table or bar. And then guy said how can I help you? Where should we sit? He said well we are closed but I can help still. We were like sorry sorry and went to leave but he said please no no don't go! Kitchen isn't closed I got you! HE GAVE us drinks well waiting, then we met the owner and JUST AMAZING GUYS! SOOO long story we stayed had the 3 little pigs pizza and a few drinks....HE DID an amazing job with the pickle shots! And the Pizza was FANTASTIC!!!!! I was too busy to get pictures but IT WAS AMAZING!

Best pizza that I have had in Colorado. I am from Chicago and their pizza was amazing. We had our grand opening in Idaho Springs for Pura Vida rafting and the kitchen manager Cody was a huge help to make sure we had enough food and delivered it to us. Highly recommended!

If you like the hole in the wall vibe this is the place. The pizza is amazing!!!! They have tons of options including gluten free. Everyone was so sweet, we were running late and couldn’t stay to eat our pizza. Not only did they get it boxed up to go and rang us up quick they also apologized for not being faster. (even though service was very fast, we just had poor time management). We took the pizza home and ate it 4 hours later reheated and it was still amazing! I would recommend!

What a great spot to stop for lunch and drinks!! Brandon the bartender was a great host and makes fantastic mixed stuff. Very attentive to his consumers' wants and needs. The food is just delicious. I ordered the Gyros and the Italian Sausage Sandwich. Oh My GOOOOOOOOSH!! Sooooo Good. Thank you for your hospitality. I will definitely be back

Very good pizza. For a wood fire, best I have had. No burnt edges or overly charred and smoky bits. Great presentation of flavors on the pallet as the size of ingredients blended rather than stood out. Like the atmosphere, cool place to eat.

My girlfriend and I were on a shuttle from The Denver airport to Breck and got stuck here in Idaho Springs amidst the massive snowstorm. Our group collectively decided to go to Safeway to see if we could get some booze. We were turned away due to it just closing at 10PM, but a nice gentleman said, “I’d be happy to re-open the restaurant for you guys.” Nicest folks let us in and served us plenty of drinks and food. Fantastic spot with great people. Recommend every time.

The best pizza I've had in a while is greasy and cheesy. Just the way it should be and the beer is cold. The building's awesome. It used to be a carriage house back in the 1800s. It's just great place altogether. People here are awesome. I would give more stars but they only allow five.

Perfectly crispy wood fired pizza. I had the spicy veggie pizza and it was loaded with fresh toppings. Crust was one of the best I’ve ever had. Friendly staff, great service.

We ended up in here when we discovered the place across the street was closed (we are not local to the area) and we were very hungry. The woman at the front was basically superwoman - she was at the hostess stand, she bartended, and she both waited on AND bussed tables…. All with excellent service and a smile. She honored our request to make the gyro dairy free, and the pizza was delicious. I’m only sorry I did not catch her name. If you’re in the area I highly recommend this place!

Authentic buffalo style wings. Great happy hour drink specials. Lots of locals. Beautiful wood burning pizza oven. Can’t wait to come back to try the pizza!

Pickaxe Pizza has got the best pizza in Idaho Springs!! Kristin is awesome!! And it’s cool to watch Mark throw the dough in the air and spin it into a pizza. Josh is the oven master making that crust crispy and delicious in their wood fired oven. We always get the “three little pigs” and it never disappoints. They’ve got the best crispy crust pizza!!

Great food, great atmosphere. I came during lunch hours, the waitress was on top of things and even ran the bar as well. Pizza was fantastic. The sauce was robust and all the ingredients were fresh. Definitely coming back whenever I’m in town !

Had Fabulous food, the black and Bleu burger and my husband had the roast beef hoagie and we all also had the cheese bread which melted in your mouth. 👍👍

Consistently top notch pizza, hot out of the oven. One person in our group said the cod was good, too! Not dry. Service can sometimes be hit or miss, but most all the servers are friendly.

Very great atmosphere and the pizza give Beau Jo's a run for their money! They even had a little arcade area! BBQ Pizza was delicious!

Friendly staff, great beer, good food. Usually stop here on the way up or back down the hill. Great way to break up the drive to the mountains. Highly recommend stopping in!

Best pizza ever !! If your from michigan like me they only do flat crust. Anywhere in Colorado they like there flat crust. Im a fluffy crust person. But the pizza was good though
