We stayed at the campground in July 2023 in a 32' Class C motorhome pulling a small car. We were in campsite #2, a pull-in campsite overlooking the Central City area. Campground, store, and laundry area were great. Only "issue" was the route to get onto Central City Parkway to head back to I-70 was a little confusing as cannot leave the campground the way you enter the campground (no fault of the KOA campground). The Hidee Gold Mine tour was close by and well worth the time (be prepared for a rough road to get to the parking area). Central City was not worth the time to visit - very little to see other than casinos.

Wonderful location, we loved that we were so close to walking trails. The campground was clean and the staff was very nice. We loved the store, it stayed open late and had almost everything that you may need.

Chuck and his team exemplify good hospitality and how it intersects with RV living. This was our fourth stay with this KOA, and throughout each stay, the staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. As we were preparing to depart on our most recent, I discovered to my dismay I was missing my hitch pin. Chuck just gave me the one off of his truck so we could be on our way to the next camping adventure. We’re grateful to the entire KOA team for making our stays as pleasant as they could be.

Great Park and a Great staff. Nice and clean everywhere, very nice concrete pads with table, chairs, fire pit. Craig assisted us in getting a timed park reservation the night before, which was just awesome. Pizza at the park is surprisingly good for $13, delivered....

Highly recommend this park for anyone looking for an easier, "back way" into RMNP. 90 minute drive but NO gate wait times at all!!!! Central City and Black Hawk have more casinos than Reno, so if you like to gamble.... Lucy Malone's restaurant at the Gilpin Casino was awesome as well....

HIGHLY recommend this park!!!

The view of the mountains through the windshield as I parked in our spot was beautiful, and the people who work there were very nice and helpful. The bathrooms and showers were nice, and there was plenty of room on the roads inside the park to maneuver easily(40ft class A with a 20ft trailer) around the area without getting close to any obstacles. I especially appreciate the extra wide roads, some RV parks have such tight roads that it can be almost impossible to get around, but not here.

We love this campground! We are tent campers and their tent sites are so nice! Other KOAs we've stayed at have no shade for tents - but here, the tent sites are nestled in a fantastic spot with lots of trees and shade. There's also enough space in between the sites that you feel secluded and not packed in like sardines.

This is my first visit to a KOA campground and I was very impressed and would highly recommend a stay here. The views of the mountains and the surrounding area are incredible, you can see for miles and miles! The campsites are very clean and the amenities are great… there are bathrooms with showers and flush toilets, there is a laundry, 2 indoor hot tubs , a dog park, lawn games , a fully stocked gift shop and store, a recreation room AND you can have pizza or wings delivered to your trailer! The staff is very kind, helpful and fun. This is a must stop while in the Central City/ Blackhawk area.

We got a campsite that had a dog pen adjacent. Was so wonderful. The concrete pads, full hookups, and private dog area was exactly what we needed after 3 nights of dry camping. The owner/family is also amazing and extremely accommodating. They have built a wonderful community with a ton of amenities. There’s an all you can eat pancake breakfast in the mornings as well as they do pizzas at night. There’s also two hot tubs, and the facilities are very family friendly. I’d recommend to anyone who’s in center city area or needs a solid rest while on the road. Thank you all for the hospitality!

The Rv Park was very well kept, excellent staff, good wifi, concrete pads, good hookups with cable. The nearby town, Central City "the richest squre mile in the world", was a big surprise. This old mining town is an amazing hidden gem you should see. This KOA is on the high end, we paid $85 a night. Good access big rig friendly. We will come again.

What a wonderful KOA to stay at! The cabins are so clean, warm, and cozy. The cabin comes stocked with dishes, paper towels, dish soap, a microwave, a mini fridge, a dining table, chairs, and a bathroom and shower. The check in / out process is super simple and there's complete privacy offered. We loved the 'all you can eat' pancake breakfast too. Great location. Respectful neighbors.

Gorgeous sites with gorgeous views! Service was excellent. It’s an interesting drive from Denver, a lot of up steep grades. Hard on the brakes on the truck.

Probably one of the best KOA's we stayed over on our 45 day road trip through 29 states. Very neat overall. Bathrooms were exceptionally well maintained. The Jacuzzi's were a blessing in the cool mountain air. The pancakes & coffee for breakfasts were big winners. The shop is a notch above most other KOA's. Very good views from up in the mountains - sunrise was very special. No shade for RV's and campers (but also not really needed) , but tent sites are in a very special spot in between trees.

This was a great campground. We spent one night on our way out west. The people were super friendly and helpful. The views from the sites were pretty fantastic. The bathrooms were clean. The showers were hot. They had a great little gift shop with local brews for sale. We would definitely stay here again.

Love the view from the overlook part of the campground. We have stayed here 2x and love the area. Visited Mt. Evans Scenic Byway, the Georgetown Loop Railroad, Black Hawk, Central City, and Idaho Springs. Great place to stay when traveling to the area or just passing through.

Free air for tires really saved my butt after I got a flat on My Evans. Noticed they sell candy of oxygen, which I'll definitely invest in next time, because my daughter didn't handle the altitude well

We were looking for a place in between Denver and Moab, and this was a perfect place. It is a bit of a drive off the highway, but it is far better than any option there. It is close to Cedar City, which has activities and food. It also has spectacular views and is very quiet and friendly.

This KOA campground is the best RV Park we have stayed at. Beautiful location. Exquisitely maintained property. Fairly steep climb off of I-70 for 7 miles but the road is in good shape and 4 lanes. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Caution: I-70 is rough and traffic drives too fast, but we'll worth the trip if you are heading through, or going to Central City/BlackHawk. I have not had a bad experience at a KOA yet. This location is 35 miles west of Denver.

This is the nicest KOA at which we have stayed, and we have stayed at many with our RV. The site had a personal “paw pen” for our dog and a concrete pad. It was also equipped with a propane grill for our use. The showers were very clean and the site had many amenities, such as cornhole and 2 hot tubs. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and the overall KOA was impeccably maintained.
