Beau Jo's Idaho Springs

I happily lost my mountain pie virginity here, and loved it! A huge place with a lodge feel and wonderful pizza that you have to eat to believe. The bottom of the crust is very New York style, but the folded-over Colorado crust is more bready and deep-dish. Save that airy crust though and cover it with honey. I savored every bite. Great service too!

The infamous Beau Jo’s! Absolutely worth it. We were seated immediately, greeted with great service, and order was placed quickly. The mountain style pizzas we got were fantastic! And dipping (or slathering) the crust in the honey was so good! Dude ranch was my favorite!

We had taken a morning tour of the close-by Argo Tunnel and Mill and were looking for a nice lunch. We weren’t disappointed with Beau Jo’s.

We were quickly seated and our server checked in to see how we were doing. It didn’t take long to decide on one of their delicious salads along with sharing a mountain pizza. I highly recommend the “Motherlode”. It has a nice balance of cheese and meats that will satisfy any appetite.

Our service was great and not rushed. Our beverages were attentively filled when they got low and we had a long and leisurely lunch.

I loved going to Beau Joe’s! It’s in a big, beautiful old building in downtown Idaho Springs. I loved all the decorations and environment. The pizza was delicious with fresh ingredients and yummy sauces. I liked the honey for the extra crust from the mountain pie pizzas. I really enjoyed going!

Amazing mountain pies! We stopped here on our way to Breckenridge and then a week later stopped again on our way back to Denver. Both times was amazing! A small 1lb came with 6 slices and was enough for me and my husband. The first time we tried the Motherlode and the second time we tried the Sausage Combo - both were so delicious! We also tried their stuffed mushrooms and they were the best I’ve had! Very sad we don’t have any locations close to us.

Order the Mountain Pie crust on your pizza. Well worth it. Eating the crust with honey is like a little dessert in between each slice of pizza. Service was quick and friendly, and outside seating had a great atmosphere. They were busy, but the place is huge with a lot of seating, so we didn't wait long.

This has been a favorite place of our entire family for many years, I have been coming for 50 years, and just discovered tonight they are celebrating 50 years this year…initially we came from Texas on ski trips, then moved here in 93 and became family favorite when my kids were old enough to ski, then became a ritual when we took a carload of them and their friends so, and now my beautiful wife Barbara’s and mine date night any time coming home from the mountains, or sometimes like tonight drove up just for the experience, and the grandchildren love it too.
Food is ALWAYS awesome, atmosphere is unique, service has always been good. We are sadly moving out of state… and came here for one last nostalgia and food fix date night.

Been coming to Beau Jo’s for two decades and it’s never disappointed. The pizza is always fresh, and it’s not your typical trashy take out pizza. I got a calzone for the first time this round and it was just as good! I loved all of it. Their gluten free crust, especially their cauliflower crust, is fantastic. We always stop on the way to Breck in summer and winter and as long as they’re open, we’ll be there! (Sorry the pic is messy, I had to take some to go!)

This was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever tasted. Actually it probably is the best. I had the Dude Ranch with Mountain Pie Crust.

My wife and I stopped here with some family while visiting Colorado on our vacation, and we really can't recommend this place enough!

The atmosphere was great, it's a cute little pizza place in the mountains that has a wonderful mining town/main street vibe.

The service was mostly great. The server we had was excellent, very attentive, and friendly. She took care of our group perfectly and helped make the experience even more enjoyable. My only issue, and not a big one at all, waa with the bartender. We sat at the bar for a few drinks while waiting for a table to open up, and I ordered a Rocky Mountain Sunset and a water. I got the Sunset, which was delicious (and how can you not order a drink with that name while visiting Colorado?), but the bartender forgot my water. Again, not a big issue. It happens, and I got one when we got to our table.

The pizza was probably the best pizza I've ever had. We did a Hawaiian BBQ mountain pie, and it was just outstanding. Even as somebody who normally doesn't care for Hawaiian pizza, it was excellent.

If you're in Idaho Springs, don't pass this place up! It's absolutely worth it, and we'll definitely be back!

Beau Jo's is iconic, and the large crust pizzas are a signature to their Colorado style pizza.
I used to come to the Idaho Springs location with my parents when I was a kid in the 70's.
This is the flag ship location so it has plenty of history. Drizzling the honey on that extra large crust was what sucked me in as a child.
Pizza is still amazing, nice to be able to relive the past. Plenty of parking around the area.
The main street is closed to traffic and all shops and food establishments have outside seating down both sides of the street. There was a single person within the seating outside Beau Jo's playing live music witch really set the atmosphere. This location is the best way to experience Beau Jo's pizza.

I had this recommended by a coworker and boy oh boy was I thrilled to have made the decision to stop for lunch! Some of the friendliest people working here! And the food was phenomenal!! I got the honey cheese bread for an appetizer and the Dude Ranch Pizza for myself with the mountain pie style crust. Words honestly cannot describe how impressed I am with this place! I will 100% be returning and introducing it to friends and family!! I also ordered their seasonal drink and it was delicious and strong! Not usually an alcohol drinker so it was almost too much for me but the over all flavor was great! Absolutely give this place a try even if you have to drive a bit out of the way for it!

Visiting from Texas & had never heard of Colorado style pizza…boy we are missing out!!! The pizza was delicious! Toppings & sauce/seasoning were great & the crust was fluffy & yummy. The best part was using the honey on the table & drizzling over the crust for a sweet dessert!
Friendly service & views were beautiful of the surrounding area (we had a view of a little waterfall from our table). Highly recommend & will come back anytime I visit Colorado!

Absolutely the most amazing pizza ever! Their Colorado-Style Pizza is the best. They have honey on the table that you can put on your crust after eat the delicious pizza, and I highly recommend it! It reminds me sorta of like the sopaipillas from Poncho’s back in the day. Love love this place.

Over all the experience was good, so I will give them five stars. The mountain pie pizza concept I had to try once but I don't get it. The crust is thick and people put honey on it, but it really just seems like a day old piece of crusty bread and you put honey on it to make it better.
The location is large and will sit many people at once. We waited less than ten minutes. They expanded many times since opening in the 70's and only have enough seats for 18 people.

The pizza was very good and the crust was fluffy. The wait time was not long though the restaurant was busy. I loved that they have bottles of local honey at every table.

Honestly, the pizza was super tasty. All I can say it was a great experience, amazing customer service, and the food hit the spot. Delicious!!!

Evergreen, Colorado location has great mountain side view, excellent service, and and yummy food. Our server Riley went out of her way to answer questions not frequently asked, and provided accommodations for special requests and additional preferences for our meal. We highly recommend coming to Mountain Pies by Beau Jo's Colorado Style Pizza!

I have heard about this place since moving to Colorado in 2007. I finally got to stop and ordered the Hamburger Combo Mountain pizza. It was delicious. The toppings were even in part of the crust. Make it a point to check these guys out.

Busy and loud, but awesome to see the original Beaujo's, as a Coloradoan who's been to the Fort Collins, Arvada, and former Denver locations.

We brought some out-of-state friends on a trip to the mountains and ended with Colorado style pizza, with a healthy variety of appetizers. The food didn't disappoint, as always, and our friends loved it!

Service was friendly but rushed, understandably since they had a line out the door and a 15-20 min wait on average, on a Monday night even! Price was very reasonable for the amount of food we got.

We'd definitely stop by again next time we're up in Idaho Springs.
