Consistently great food over the years. One of those spots that brings back childhood memories. Pad Thai is a 10/10.

Got four lunches and some apps to go - everything was fresh and delicious even after a 35 min ride in containers. Fast service, very nice and included extra sauce. Great food!

Most go if passing through or resident local!! I have been going to the Royal Orchid for over 12 years. Ever since I was teen, this has got to still be my absolute favorite Thia food. I their tofu is cooked to perfection every time, when I find myself home I always make sure to come here. The pad-kee-mao is my go to dish!! If you like spice make sure to tell them you like spicy. They tend to go light on spicy level due to just because most Vermonters don't eat very much spicy food.

Absolutely fantastic! Their food is reasonably priced and consistently delicious. It is a family restaurant, and they are just the kindest people. If you like Thai food or want something new give it a try! It is so worth it!

I have gone here regularly since moving to Montpelier and LOVE the food, service and prices at Royal Orchid.

Everyone is beyond kind, helpful, and organized- it's the sort of place where the people working there remember your name and take the time to chat with you when you pick up your food.

Speaking of the food, it's delicious! The menu offers a wide variety, but everything I've tried has been incredible, portions have been large and quality has been consistently excellent.

Thanks so much for making me feel at home in Montpelier, I look forward to many more years of eating your delicious food!

After a day of skiing in snowy weather, we were craving for Thai food. We searched in google map around Montpelier area, found Royal Orchid, which already received good reviews. We are Oriental, who eat Thai food frequently all over the places. This one is certainly among the best, both the service and the food. We had stir fried pork, two different curry dishes, and a stir fried wide rice noodle. They were all very good, including the very authentic Thai soup. What really impressed us was the Mango sticky rice dessert they served in a short time. I don’t remember how many times we had had this special dessert before (so far I only found in Thai restaurants; if someone found it in other types of restaurants, let me know as this is my favorite treat), the one they made was the best. The sticky rice was made perfect, which we know should take a long time. But it can be pre-made. What was surprising was the Mango – as ripen (but fresh) and sweet as the ones I handpicked from market in summer time! It was a weekday and snowy, we saw only three tables of guests other than us. Yet, they had such good quality mango ready to serve! Two thumbs up! This will be my must-go place whenever I pass by Montpelier.

Amazing food. Outdoor seating available and they are pet friendly. They even brought a bowl of water for our dog and he enjoyed having lunch with us here. I will definitely recommend this place and will visit again. Bean vermicelli dish was out of the world

An amazing hidden gem. Their dishes are packed with flavor and if you enjoy some heat you'll find a lot of favorites.

The ubiquitous PadThai is really great despite the menu telling you its not really a legit Thai dish. Reach out of your comfort zone and you're going to be pleasantly suprised.

The food and atmosphere here is always amazing!! The Kao Soi is particularly delicious although I have been so pleased with everything that I have ordered during my many visits over the years. If you are in the area I would highly recommend stopping in!

Best Thai food in Vermont. I know the owner personally and there is no way he was the person the negative reviewer dealt with. Arthur is too kind and polite to behave that way. You should have asked who you were dealing with... I’m sure your parties behavior in no way played a part of your experience.

My husband and I often go to the Royal Orchid for dinner. We have our few favorite dishes we usually order (namely the pad thai and chicken fried rice), but the menu here is extensive and offers lots of options. Highly recommend if you are in the area! Only drawback is often a lack of parking.

Royal Orchid has the best Thai food in Montpelier. Highly recommend! They are not currently open for indoor dining due to covid, so take out only. Hopefully that will change once the pandemic ends.

It has been our Friday ritual to order pad thai take out since my soon to be husband and I started living together. We call it “Pad Friday”. Royal Orchid is hands down the BEST Thai restaurant in Vermont. We have tried to branch out and experience other restaurants, but we always end up disappointed and wishing we’d stuck with our go-to. The owners and staff are incredibly kind and we have never once had a bad experience- even during Covid. Eat here. You will not regret.

My favorite place to stop for Thai food in the state.. It's also a very charming place with a kind and courteous, staff, a cozy, little bar, and some great, outdoor seating. Their Thai iced tea is awfully delicious, too.
