Delish Montpeliers Sweet Shop

This place is WONDERFUL. The lady at the counter was so very kind and patient with my three kids (they had a tough time deciding), and the selection is nothing short of extraordinary. Salted licorice! Maple malt balls! A million kinds of truffle! Absolutely make it a point to stop in, you’ll be glad you did.

As a side note: I’ve seen a few reviews from a year ago or so for different small shops in Montpelier where people complain that the staff insisted (politely, too, it sounds like) on masks. Look, you don’t know anything about that person’s health, or the health of their loved ones and household members. For all you know that person behind the counter is going home that night to take care of a cancer patient, or is immunocompromised themselves, or has a kid who’s high-risk. Just wear the damn mask and stop trying to torpedo small businesses with a bad online review. If the mask is really that painful for you or your kid then just don’t go in.

Mary Kate & Jake are just as Sweet! Absolutely loved finally getting to visit. Lovely licorice selection & even had the AbbaZaba I was craving. So glad I got the chocolate covered pretzel too! Sincerely nice to meet a family run business & what kindness 😊

We came to visit the beautiful town of Montpelier and saw this cute little store. So we have it a try. The woman behind the register was very friendly, helpful and patient. She promoted the Truffle Tuesday, meaning 20% discount on truffles. We picked 5: something with rum, cherry, raspberry, key lime, and Black Forest. They were all very DELISH!! Even the milk chocolate, of which I’m not a big fan, was good. The dark chocolates were even better. And all the fillings were unique too. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed picking out a variety of sweet treats. The female employee was so friendly and helpful. We bought 3 bags of malt balls (regular, maple, and peanut butter) which were fairly priced and really good. I also found the old classic violet candy (the one that tastes like perfume) to send to my sister. She loves them and they are not easy to come across. Definitely go inside if you are in the area.

Mary Kay is always the friendliest! And she has such a wide variety of candy in her little shop! From classics to new favorites! And she's always ready to tell me of any new vegan gummy candy that she gets in because she remembers what I like! She also stocks the best, most reasonably priced chocolate truffles in town! So DELISH! Aptly named!
