Absolutely delicious food!
We got the gluten free cream of tomato soup and it comes with pesto on top!
The hamburger on a gluten free bun was absolutely amazing!!
Kimchi side to die for!!
Flourless chocolate cake with caramel sauce was divine ..
A few cider options, and they were delicious and dry!
Great atmosphere, great music, very friendly service.
We look forward to returning again!

They just reopened for dining since the flooding, and the place looks great. Also, the Shorty Burger, quad style was awesome! Very juicy and tasty. My wife's reuben was also great.

Came by on a Tuesday evening for some beers and apps. It seemed busy but we were seated fast and our server came to the table quickly as well. She was very nice and attentive, not just to us but to the other tables around us. We had a great selection of beers to choose from and enjoyed the pretzel bites. Highly recommend!

Came in for a family member’s birthday. All four of us had amazing meals. The service was excellent. We asked our server to bring out a gluten free dessert with some candles we’d bought and she did a fantastic job setting that up. Beer selection was solid. We had an excellent experience!

Looking for a beer on a trip? Good spot for craft brews. A solid selection of light and darks. The food was good, hot wings were succulent, nuggets that were actually made in house with chicken, and a loaded fries that makes you dream of poutine. Pretzel bites have great dip but were a bit dry.

Great spot for lunch in downtown Montpelier. I had the fried chicken sandwich, buffalo style, and my wife had the charred vegetable salad. Both were delicious. The beer menu was extensive and I was delighted with my Hill Farmstead "Susan" IPA. The service was fast and friendly and the prices were reasonable. I'd definitely return.

Three Penny has leveled up on their cuisine! The menu is creative, diverse, and much more vegan welcoming. The service is attentive and friendly. The safe outdoor dining is very pleasant. Standouts on our visit: Crispy Chickpeas, White Gazpacho, the Charred Vegetable Salad & Farmer's Salad (with black bean cakes added), and those Tater Tots, whoa. Vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores in our party were very satisfied and plan to return.

Oh my goodness this place is amazing!! We came here twice on our short trip to the area. Had to come back a second time because it was so good. We loved the steak and cheddar sandwich, ordered it twice. The pretzel bites were incredible also. The beer selection was superb and the food out this world!! We wish we had time to come back a third time.

My boyfriend and I have been doing weekend trips to Vermont for 5 years now, and Three Penny Taproom is always a must! This year, we were staying in Burlington, but made a point to stop for lunch on our way. They have an extensive selection of beer and a fantastic menu - we’ve never had anything bad here! (Although this year, we missed the pretzels). Definitely a must-go if you’re staying in/near Montpelier or want a place to stop for lunch on your way elsewhere.

Stopped in on the way from Burlington to home in the Cape and Islands. Incredible!
Vermont onion soup - amazing. A lot of flavor layers. Clearly made with a lot of love.
Tomato soup and grilled cheese. Super tasty. Hearty style soup - again clearly made with love.
Hot wings - crispy, homemade sauce that was complex and some good back end lingering heat. Loved them. So good that we dug in before taking pics - these two were what was there when we paused.
Terrific service. We were greeting warmly and professionally by Rachel who took great care of us.

Stopped by Montpelier for lunch on our way back to NYC from Stowe. This place stuck out the most out of all the eateries.

Craft beer list is INCREDIBLE. The bartender made us a kombucha cocktail with vodka that was super refreshing, as we wanted a hard booch. Both the server at the front and the bartender were very welcoming and nice.

The food was also great. They had the best most buttery pretzels Ive ever had. Everyone loved their food from the vermont onion soup (basically french onion but beefier), to the chicken wings and burgers. My Steak sandwich was a little underwhelming though compared to everything else.

On the main restaurant street of Montpelier, this resto-bar is split into two parts, a traditional sit down restaurant and a full long bar taproom with amble beers on tap (great sign on the wall reads: "We Proudly Do NOT Offer Anheuser-Busch Products" :) Nice menu options that you would not typically find in a bar with friendly service. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a great time at Three Penny.
The food was spectacular.
Vermont onion soup and tomato soup with grilled cheese.
The beer was tasty, cold and served to us very quickly.
We are very glad this place was recommended to us from other guests at Grunberg Haus in Waterbury.

We enjoyed a late lunch/early dinner here while visiting the area on vacation. Food & service were excellent and the tap list was 🔥. Highly recommend the corn fritters with hot honey and onion soup.

One of the best beer bars on the entire East Coast. Exceptionally curated tap list that always has fresh beer on draft. The food is just as good, as is the staff, who are friendly and knowledgeable. You never know who you’ll run into here, and that’s my part of why it’s always a great time and experience. Make sure to stop in!

Great gastro pub with large selection of draft beer. The food options are all good, the buffalo chicken sandwich was delicious. The cod cake sandwich was also very good. Great spot in the heart of downtown Montpelier.

I came here after a long hike and had a delicious meal and beer here. I ordered the braised pork sandwich with fries and cheese. It was DELICIOUS! The pork had a nice flavor but the bun really made it a great taste; it was burned in a perfect way that created a smokiness for me that I enjoyed. The cheese fries were delicious and went well with the beer I had. Friendly service and a beautiful downtown area!

Superb local roasted veggie salad with arugula and feta. The kids loved the grilled cheese. I wish we could return daily!

One of my favorite places I've stopped to grab a beer while visiting Vermont. Also, one of the best grilled cheese (Cabot!) sandwiches I've ever had in my life!
