The assortment, quality and talent of Vermont artisans is beautifully displayed and well-lit throughout the store. I have gifted, and been gifted, items from Artisan’s Hand that will be admired for generations to come. This is where to shop if there’s a need for something unique. We’ve been doing so since the late 70’s!

We initially visited Artisan's Hand looking for a sixtieth birthday present for my wife. She really loved Bill Butler's work and the Pietersite stones. We've subsequently purchased two more for our daughter and soon to be daughter in-law. We love the diversity of crafts available in Artisan's Hand and the quality of the workmanship. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. We've always had great experiences at this shop.

The shop carries a wide variety of beautiful art, many from local artists, and the owners are really friendly. Bill created a one of a kind custom ring for me based on his unique designs that is incredible. I absolutely love it. Great place for unique treasures and gifts of all kinds.

Stepping into the Artisans Hand is like visiting a museum with the finest crafts, jewelry, pottery, etc available and in my many visits to other similar stores this is easily one of the best in New England! It is hard to leave this store without indulging in a piece of pottery, some jewelry, a beautiful hand painted scarf, a notebook with a painted design (such that I subsequently ordered several more for gifts for a friend and myself), cards and gifts for many loved ones. Artisans Hand was spared by the recent flood by probably a few inches, so everything there remains intact and unaffected. I hope others will visit Montpelier, particularly after what it has been through and a it's a good idea to make Artisans Hand your first stop! Enjoy and allow plenty of time to explore this beautiful store to consider what treat you will take with you.

Have been visiting Artisan’s Hand for more than 30 years. Staff is always professional, yet warm and helpful. It is delightful to see the range of crafts exhibited, sometimes meet the artists themselves, learn about some of the crafts process and purchase gifts for our family and others. One necklace I purchased there is so unique and striking and gorgeous that I am frequently stopped in stores and restaurants, even on trails all over the world by people complimenting the design and stone, and asking where I got it. Artisans Hand in Vermont, I say, IS the place to go for crafts!

Artisans' hand is a unique craft store. It features Vermont artists who create stunning items that easily can become heirlooms. It features many one of a kind pieces. It has beautiful jewelry and items for the kitchen and home and also has fun items for kids. Montpelier is recovering from the flood and more and more stores are opening back up. It's worth a stop -- don't miss it!

I have been an Artisans Hand fan ever since they first opened in 1978. The quality, design and beauty of the pottery, artwork, jewelry, clothing, photography, glass work, wood crafts, Christmas ornaments... I could go on and on.... is unmatched.

I especially like the fact that Artisans Hand is where you can meet and get to know an incredible array of Vermont artists and their work.

The Artisans Hand gallery is my favorite place to shop for family and friends for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. (It's also where I go to shop for myself.)

Each piece has a rich story. Their gifts become heirlooms.

I have had the great fortune to shop at Artisans Hand in Montpelier for over 36 years for special gifts that are truly unique. It is my go-to place for weddings, anniversaries, special birthdays, and when I feel like I want a new pair of earrings. I have had the great fortune to have had my wedding ring made there 34 years ago by Bill Butler who continues to produce beautiful jewelry. He helped me figure out how to enlarge my ring to get over my arthritic knuckle without destroying the ring. Artisans Hand is a wonderful place to shop in addition to the many fine stores in Montpelier.

My wife and I rarely miss a trip to Montpelier without stopping at Artisans Hand. The breadth of the one-of-a-kind, Vermont-born-and-made crafts on display is amazing, with creativity and craftsmanship to match. We always enjoy browsing the latest works on display, whether jewelry, ceramics, paintings, prints, sculpture, clothing, tableware, lotions, or even furniture. This makes it easy to find gifts for anyone you're shopping for (including yourself). Plus, it's wonderful seeing that by surviving the flood high and dry, Artisans Hand is at the forefront of many other businesses now helping this great little city bounce back.

My family has been shopping The Artisans Hand for over 35 years. Their wide range of artists and offerings provide wonderful options of everything from paintings to unique art pieces and housewares all made and staffed by the artists themselves. We even got our wedding bands here. It’s open again after the flooding and always worth a trip into town. Not to be missed!

I visited Artisan's hand a few weeks ago. Missy helped me pick out a ring--she was incredibly patient as I spent a lot of time deciding between options. She even kept a few rings aside for me so I could get some lunch and come back, and kindly polished each of the options I was choosing between even though she knew I was only going to buy one.
The selection throughout the store is unmatched. From jewelry to painting, scarves to calendars and everything in between, there are so many different local artisans' work to choose from. Visiting this store made me proud to be from Vermont; it's really special to come from a place that has inspired so many beautiful creations.
The store feels deeply rooted in community in the best way. Even though they were lucky enough not to be heavily affected by the flooding this year, they closed and used their time to help their neighbors. That type of care and service speak really highly of the culture at the store. It's a great place to visit whether you're a lifelong Vermonter or just visiting for the weekend.

Always exciting to see the creativity and artistry displayed in their products. Whether you are looking for that special gift or items of personal expression in jewelry or home design, this is a great place to shop. Friendly staff appreciates the shopping experience of "just looking" as well as assisting in selection. It is a favorite stop in Montpelier and a community friendly spot in an area that had some climate challenges this summer. Stop in and support our talented craftsmen.

Artisan's Hand is one of the premiere art shops in Vermont with the most varied, high quality and interesting options -- jewelry, pottery, hand crafted goods, carved pieces, clothwork, prints and artwork of all kinds. There is no way you can leave this place without at least one precious item or gift -- something you could never find elsewhere. Prices vary such that there's something for everyone. A MUST VISIT, WARM AND WELCOMING PLACE!!!!!!

Artisans Hand is my favorite store in Montpelier. Sometimes I go there just to relax in the beauty of all of the art work. It’s my go to destination for gifts, home decor, and beautiful functional pottery for myself and others. I can’t forget the jewelry either, so many stunning and original choices.

Artisan’s Hand is a wonderful gallery shop, filled with the work of over 100 of Vermont’s
artists and craft people. There’s beautiful jewelry, pottery, and unique gifts for all ages. Montpelier has struggled so much from the devastating floods of July and they need your support now more than ever!

Vermont is long known for farms, crafts, and small town life. Artisan's Hand is a jewel in that crown, making Montpelier a place you want to keep on your leaf peeping, summer or winter itinerary. I lived in Montpelier when it began, a cooperative of artists pooling talents to give customers a concentration of 100 artisan's in one easy place. The concept worked, and it thrives today-over 4 decades later--no wind, sleet or floods could deter it. The curation of clothing and jewelry displayed is eye candy; like entering a museum, but one whose goods you can acquire while supporting independent artists. While no flood could diminish this place or its energy, it was miraculously spared, so need to worry about finding inventory-its all still there--pristine as always, waiting for you to discover. The jewelry, hats, clothing, I have acquired over the years are timeless. A must not miss attraction in your travels to Central Vermont.
