The self tour of the state house was great. It was quite and we had the building to ourselves. The Vermont State House, is in Montpelier. The building was amazing inside and out. The Greek Revival architecture is a beautiful display of engineering. I definitely recommend this tour. Go early to ensure you beat the crowds.

Beautiful state house. The goddess of agriculture Ceres is at the top and it's one of the state houses with actual gold domes. Beautiful view of the city of Montpelier from the steps. And a lovely city to walk around. The lawn is well groomed and the plants/flowers are maintained well.

Great place for history. Tour is self guided and as long as the legislature is not in session you can go into the Senate and House chambers.

This is one of the coolest places I have ever been to. Visiting from Canada, the tour was excellent. Learnt a lot about the history of the Legislature. Our tour guide was excellent and he was really funny too. He really cracked us up and made the tour interesting. This is one of the places that if I visit Vermont again, I will surely stop by again.

I loved visiting the Vermont State House! When I arrived on Saturday, I wasn't expecting to be able to go inside or take a tour, but I'm glad they were open. The docent was outstanding and the building, beautiful! I recommend stopping if you have free time.

The Vermont State House in Montpelier is such a beautiful building! The way the building is situated is very picturesque, on the hill with more hills behind it. This is one of my favorite state houses I have visited. Really is a beautiful building!

Beautiful place, very thoughtful design. I went during the fall and definitely loved it. The contrast between the trees and the buildings was amazing. The near by town has a lot to offer as well.

Nice view of the city of Montpelier from the steps.

P.S. If you ever wonder what happen to all the hippies from the 60s, well I found them in Montpelier VT. ☺

When visiting from out of town we popped in and were blown away with the beauty and authenticity of the original buildings charm. There were many helpful volunteers there to answer any of your questions and give suggestions on where to visit in town. Highly recommend a visit.

Nice capital. Typical of a less populous capital city where access to the public is generous for tours. Much better to the states that gate up and lockfown out of necessity. The town is still significantly impacted by summer 2023 flooding with many businesses still not reopened.

We had a great tour through the building. It was calm that day, with our young three children, and they ran into the Lt. Gov's office, and she was very understanding and welcomed them in, and talked to the girls for a minute or two. Very cool, free place to visit! Beautiful grounds.
