Nice, clean modern amenities. The staff was nice and efficient. The breakfast in the lobby everyday is very good. It's nice that they don't use all disposable plates; more sustainable. I also like the refillable shower & bath gel dispensers in the showers.

Great size rooms with full amenities. Clean and the staff is amazing! Very friendly and accommodating. Great morning breakfast, good parking, and very nice for a price much less than other places with less to offer.

Everything about this hotel was exceptional! The location is easy to find and a good location for all the shopping in West Des Moines. The rooms were stylishly designed and clean with lots of updated furnishings. The rooms were large with all the amenities that you would need. The beds were comfortable. Thr lobby was also roomy, cozy, and stylish. Happy hour selections and breakfast were superb. A big shout-out to the woman making the perfect avocado and egg toast with diced tomatoes! Loved the bike rentals too. Would be fun to bike around the area when warmer. This professor gives this hotel an A+!

Loved loved loved this hotel!!! Super posh, front desk service was very friendly. Room was very nice and spotless! The pool was fun and loved that the outdoor hot tub was open. It hit the spot after a long day of training.

The element West Des Moines is one of my favorite properties. I have stayed in both their studio and suite room types and have never been disappointed. My favorite part about this hotel is the nightly manager's reception. Pour your own tap beer and wine along with light appetizers are served next to the lobby in a lounge area in the early evenings. Breakfast at the Element is complementary and one of the better hotel breakfasts out there. Typically there is someone who cooks a daily special to order for guests. The hotel location is very walkable with restaurants and retail.

A most relaxing and inviting place to stay in the Des moines area. From check in to breakfast to the pool to the staff--a birthday weekend was a hit. A specail thank you to the breakfast staff who with a muffin and whipped cream complete with a candle made a nine year old feel special. Thank you.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Element West Des Moines hotel during a business conference, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. It was a great stay and the hotel was clean. I cannot speak highly enough.

We loved everything about this hotel! They had so many amenities in the room like fridge, microwave, hot plate, utensils, everything. I've never seen a breakfast bar like this one! They had a whole yogurt station to make you a fruit bowl along with the normal eggs and turkey sausage you would find elsewhere. A group of kids were playing the Wii in the lounging area and I even saw two beers on tap. Very happy to see the wheelchair ramp going down into the lounge area. Great set up. Will be looking for more Elements to stay at in the future.

Every room has a fridge and microwave. Larger rooms have an oven and stove.

The rooms are modern and feel like an apartment. Great for any kind of get away if you’re looking for something that doesn’t feel like a stale hotel.

Great clean place! Rooms are quite spacious and the lobby is very modern and bright. They had some bread out for the happy hour, but on this particular stay the beer and wine taps were out. Literally everything else was phenomenal!

Absolutely recommend this stay to everyone!! We checked in and were kindly greeted with happy hour (free beer, wine, bread and cheese). Jack went above and beyond our hospitality expectations. He was warm, welcoming, and organic in conversation. My husband and I called four days prior to see if the hot tub was functioning before booking a room (it was). When we went to swim, the hot tub was "out of maintenance". I approached the front desk to ask when this had happened and before I was able to get a word out, Jack informed us of a previous event (they had to drain it due to a child messing with a light) and immediately came to check the temperature of the hot tub for us. He returned with towels and complimentary beer! Over the top with hospitality.

The room was clean, chic and comfortably simple. The TV had a plethora of options for entertainment. It was even personalized with a greeting for us! The bathroom was incredibly clean. Bed was very comfortable. The fourth floor view was beautiful as well. Impressed with the kitchenette too - glasses, real silverware, toaster, microwave and fridge.

Breakfast was delicious, had a wide variety of options and felt very homey. They even had "specialty breakfast" options that would be cooked on the spot for you. Also delectable! The staff was kind and welcoming all morning as we sipped coffee. My husband and I couldn't stop complimenting the aesthetics and how attractive and comfortable they were.

They offered an incredible military discount as well! Very impressed, Element! We will certainly be back.

The Element West Des Moines location is an outstanding hotel, and I have stayed in many.

The front desk and housekeeping staff are extremely pleasant and helpful, and the hotel is one of the most inviting and comfortable that I’ve had the pleasure of staying at.

The breakfast has a full complement of hot and cold offerings, including custom-made egg dishes. If that wasn’t enough, in the evenings, they hook up the beer taps and it’s free beer for all guests.

I had a mini stay-cation last weekend and spent the night. The room was great and had more amenities than I’m used to like plates, glasses, etc. Loved the free breakfast which even included made to order pancakes with fresh toppings. It was a really nice touch. Love the coffee/tea/etc available in the lobby at all times. The patio is very nice and location is excellent. The only negative was the pool was overrun by a sports team of rambunctious pre-teen boys so we weren’t able to swim when we wanted to. I don’t really blame the hotel for this as they can’t control who is at the pool and when. It would be nice if the pool could be open later for adults only. Just a suggestion.

My son picked the perfect hotel for my birthday getaway. The hotel is bright and inviting, with lots of large windows to allow guests a panoramic view of the surrounding area. It’s located near the heart of shopping, dining, and entertainment venues. In warmer weather, I would have loved to spend time on the beautiful outdoor terrace. I didn’t have time to take advantage of the indoor pool, gym or laundry facility… maybe next trip. My room was clean, spacious and comfortable. And the staff was very accommodating.

Savannah at the front desk was outstanding! She was able to help us get our rooms figured out & booked! Savannah was a great help and very friendly! Definitely recommend this hotel!! It was super close to the location we were needing and both rooms were very clean!

Located in a lively area of town. First impressions were good as the lobby is clean light and open. Check in was easy with cheerful and friendly service. We received a brief but clear explanation of how the Free WiFi and grab and go breakfast worked. The rooms are modern and spacious. The only negative was that given the hotel is close to a busy bar, my room on the first floor was quite noisy until around 2am. That said, everything else was excellent.

This was my second time staying at Element in WDSM. I LOVED it both times and I'm very picky when it comes to hotels. The area is very trendy and walkable plus it's totally doggie friendly. The free breakfast is probably the best I've ever had not to mention it's FREE. Rooms are very nice and clean. We didn't cook but totally would have if we had stayed longer. WE will be staying at this hotel again in Aug and Dec. Very much looking forward to our stay. BOOK this place, you will not regret it!
