ELITE Apartment Rentals

I had a very frustrating experience with Elite Apartment Rentals. There was an apt advertised that I was interested in but was looking for a later move in date, wondering if another unit was opening up in the building. I called the number listed and frequently the mailbox was full. I also sent an email and got no response. Finally, after calling their main number, I got a call back. As they didn't know if anything was opening up, they said they would be in touch later.

Meanwhile, I became interested in another one of their apartments. The representative met me promptly at the arranged time. When I indicated that the apt was too small, she said there were some other units in another building in the neighborhood. We took a tour and there was one I wanted to move forward with. This was contingent on the landlord allowing cats. The rep made a phone call and told me that neutered, declawed cats were accepted. I filled out an application and left a deposit.

I then learned that my app was accepted but that the landlord didn't allow cats. They told me they had other cat-friendly apartments nearby but way out of my price range. (My whole motivation to move was based on lowering my rent, which I had told the rep.) I told them I wasn't going to look at the more expensive apt and I had to think it over.

Within 24 hours, I told them I found another apartment and they should shred the app and my check. Then I found they already cashed my check. I asked them to mail a reimbursement. They replied that they wouldn't send a reimbursement in the mail; I had to come in person.

When I came, they wrote the check for the deposit, minus the application fee. When I told them that I would have never applied if I knew the bldg didn't allow cats, they complied with my request for the full amount but were obviously not happy about it.

Unresponsive, ill-informed and not attentive to apt criteria. I would not try to rent through them again.

I have been looking for a nice, clean and affordable apartment in Revere, Chelsea, Everett, Winthrop, and Saugus for several months now. Elite apartment rentals has advertised several apartments that my husband and I were very interested in seeing and/or getting more info about. Needless to say, Elite apartment rentals never responds to messages on any of the Realty sites, such as, Zillow, Trulia, etc... I have sent messages, texts and emails showing interest in so many different apartments they were renting and they simply NEVER RESPOND OR reply! If you advertise an apartment for rent then by right, you should acknowledge anyone who shows interest in said apartment! Give the rental customers some respect for even reaching out to try and rent a place from your company. It's a real shame that you have driven me to the point of writing a bad review about your company's ethics. And if you rent a apartment and it is no longer available, then for goodness sake, take it off the sites your advertising with! That's a huge issue I've seen too! Many Realtors cannot even go the extra step to mark a place rented or off the market, instead you MIGHT go out of your way to send a text or email and only get, "it's already rented" as a response!! Really?? If it's been rented then why do I keep seeing the said apartment for days or weeks saying they are still for rent??
I mean seriously though, is it just me?? Do you do this sort of thing to all of your potential clients?
It makes me so upset that I can't find a nice apartment to rent because of someone's ignorance and to be honest, I'm tired of it.
Most and I think 90% of real estate agents and companies often ignore messages and inquiries about their apartment rentals. Ive seen this first hand and you people expect a full months rent as your brokers fee? You need to respect and appreciate the efforts and interest of every client, whether you rent to them or not! Don't just speak and message the people you choose to rent these places to. I hope I made you understand just how frustrating it is for the potential tenant and that your business practices change soon.
