Union Street Restaurant and Bar

Oh my, I had the best salad at Union Street Restaurant. The salmon was juicy and seasoned perfectly. Had lunch on Sunday at Union. Decided to stay inside because it was too hot on the patio. Diligent staff, very decent price for large portions, balanced drink, warm and comfortable ambiance. I will definitely come back.

We came on the first night they re-opened for dine-in service on their patio. We didn’t make a reservation due to poor planning on our part. We decided to simply show up and see if they could fit us in. Not surprisingly they were busy! The manager went the extra step to figure out how to fit us in and did so ever so kindly! So appreciative he could because we had a really enjoyable and delicious meal.

We got the blackberry BBQ wings to start, which were soooo good! I would definitely get them again! My sister and I both got the roasted walnut and goat cheese salad with added chicken. Really delicious. My boyfriend got the fish & chips, which he enjoyed too. We got a few drinks and found the outdoor ambiance really relaxing. They have a very large patio. Super nice evening and can’t wait to go back this summer...next time we’ll be sure to make a reservation! :-)

Nice spot that has changed owners quite a few times over the last year. My first beer was flat but that upon showing the bartender she immediately replaced it for me and also replaced the keg below. The food was really good (I got the fish tacos). Service was good and the staff were nice. Will be back again for sure.

Great food and drinks! My friend and I had the veggie burger and fish & chips. We both thought everything was very fresh tasting. Drinks were good and decently priced. Atmosphere is excellent and they have 3 floors of dining I believe.

I use to come here frequently before I had kids. It's always been fun. But alas, we all grow old. I Brought my son here for brunch. I have to say...the service was phenomenal. Pierro was absolutely fantastic with my son. He was attentive to my 6 year old, heavily engaged. My son couldn't stop talking about the 'Pierro Special' (Pink Lemonade /Ginger ale /Water) and my son loved it. Honestly, I can't tell if Pierro made it up, but it was a hit. When it came time to pay, our bill had a picture of a spider, drawn by Pierro, that my son noticed due to their earlier conversation about Spider-Man. It just takes little details like that to turn experience from good to memorable. At the end of all of it my son told me that it was the best experience eating out he's ever had (and I'm thinking in my head it's just Union bar but whatever). I highly recommend going to Union for the food and the impeccable service.

Edit 7/24: The Pierro special is definitely a thing. Also, I visited today and Katiey is also an amazing server. It's obvious Union hires amazing staff!

Loved it here. James was great and the beer and burger were just right. Nice and tucked away for an awesome patio vibe. I recommend it.

Great bar and restaurant in the Newton area. Last time I went, we got wings and I had the backyard burger. The food was great.
This time, we only got drinks. Heather is one of the best bartenders there. We had a really nice time! Thank you SO much!

Just had a fantastic and relaxing dinner with my husband. Beers on tap were very good and paired nicely with our food. BBQ chicken wings w/blackberry jam that was finger licking good. My burger was well seasoned and tasted very good. Nice fresh patty. My husband’s steak tips were very tasty.

Had a great dinner here with my BC daughter and some friends. We were seated promptly (with a reservation) on the big, beautiful patio on a gorgeous evening. Service was prompt and efficient throughout, the food and drinks were good and the cost was super reasonable. Even parking was easy, at least for a Monday night...there's a huge lot right across the street. Definitely a recommend.

Cali Beyond Smash Burger was delicious. Buffalo Chicken sandwich had a nice kick. Wide range of drinks, we stuck to beer. Friendly staff. We sat in basement which was cool. They also have a patio.

We had an amazing experience! Very attentive and courteous bartender/waiter assisted my son & I. We felt taken care of, not rushed and the menu was wonderfully and healthfully amazing! Good quality, ultra fresh food came to our table! They tried to accommodate every allergy and/or like/dislike we threw their way and did so successfully! I'm from out of state and ended up getting referred to their place, when every other place in the area, for some reason closed earlier than their website stated. We had an incredibly relaxing experience! My son is already asking for a return trip "just because", after their child tablets apparently had more games than those at chain restaurants he previously tried! I recommend them...! The owner seemed nice & his barman/waiter was quite accommodating, polite and awesome! It is said, a waiter can make or break an experience, no matter the quality the kitchen puts out and I found this place unusually accepting and friendly to kids! Currently, my son is about 7, and quite energetic. Thankful for such a positive, relaxing, respectful experience!

Great food, Amazing service! Very fast, and even with a busy restaurant our waiter, and a man who I believe was the manager were very on top of everything. Waiter brought a new drink that needed a refill without even needing to be asked. And manager stepped in and took our check for us, within a minute of it being put down. Mac and Cheese was very good, and the Avocado Brushetta is a must try. It's super creative and super tasty. The atmosphere on the patio is also very nice and well maintained during the pandemic, and before it got packed I could tell they really put in the effort to space people out.

Excellent food! Love their artichoke dip and Union burger. The portions are huge and delicious! Large drink menu as well. There's indoor and outdoor seating with large TV's and a modern jukebox inside. Highly recommend.

Staff is working hard and being respectful of the regulations currently in place. They also did a nice job with reminders to the few that needed them. Great band, good mix of songs. Tasty avocado toast! Thanks for making a crazy time feel a little bit normal, comfortable and fun.

I went out with my family on our first night out since the beginning of this covid-19 crisis to Union Street. We had taken all precautions, reservations, masks, and distancing ourselves and fantastically so did the professionals at Union Street. We were greeted warmly and even though the seating area was limited and our party of 6 the wait for our table was next to nothing! Waitstaff, bar and kitchen worked together seamlessly and after placing our order it was again a very short wait for our food. Even with such quick times, there was no shortage on quality! We all left with full tummies and full smiles! There is no question we will return to this amazing restaurant and excitedly await the full opening. Perfect score to all service!

Pandemic dining perfection! Spacious outdoor seating, very clean inside, hand sanitizer on the table, easy reservation process and friendly and respectful staff. The food is excellent and many of the beers on tap are local.
