Love the exterior of this bookstore just as much as the interior. Super historical /gothuc on the outside and soooo cute and cozy on the inside. Massive selection!! Places to sit too. They also sell gift items and other trinkets. Bonus they are open late!!

The Barnes & Noble store near me had to move to another space recently. I was shocked when I walked in for the first time. Nearly every book cover was facing out, and the covers these days, graphically, are so “loud…”

The store also does not have many of the books it has had in the past, probably because the way they’re now placed on the shelves takes up way more space. I was looking for three books, and they had none of them.

So I went to Newtonville Books, and breathed a sigh of relief when I entered the store. It hasn’t changed, and it’s still cozy and just wonderful. The staff were kind and helpful, as always. And they had all of the books I wanted to buy!!!!

Keep it up, NB. You guys are the best.

It's great to have this local bookstore. I went in seeking a somewhat obscure title and they were able to get it within a few days and called me for the pickup. A good store for gifts too

Great little bookstore! Friendly staff, nice selection, cozy atmosphere. Love the chairs they have in the middle if you want to sit down and read for a bit. They have a nice kids and young adults section too! Overall I enjoyed my visit.

Great selection of fiction and all other genres! I also really like all the fun socks and little trinkets they have for sale. The staff recommendation note cards are very helpful when browsing titles!

Excellent selection, this independent book shop offers a diverse range of literature as well as small gifts! We picked up a few books and interesting postcards. Please note that currently (October 2022), they ask that customers wear masks prior to noon to protect under-5s.

one of the best local books stores I have ever had the pleasure to see. This is my go to place for books and gifts. I love supporting local, so if I'm not in a hurry to get a specific title they don't have in stock, they are happy to order it for me.

my absolute favorite book shop! the staff are so kind, such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and not only do they have a great selection of books, but super cute and fun tote bags and other things!

This is THE go-to for our family when we need a gift. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, polite, and patient (we usually come with a toddler in-tow). I'd especially like to shout out the complimentary gift-wrapping. A must for a busy family. Hopefully it goes without saying, but when possible, buy local!

Newtonville Books is such a treat to visit- a real gem. Everyone who works there is so lovely, especially Mary who seems so passionate about helping people love reading. It feels great to support a local business as wonderful as this.

This store has a great selection of books and helpful writeups by employees that give you a sense of the issues they raise and the authors' styles.

Great little place. Stopped in to have a burger with my teen age son and we both loved it. The line of regulars getting takeout orders was impressive. But even so the wait on the food was less than 10 minutes.

Such a great bookstore. Smart selection of latest releases, intriguing suggestions, & they special order quickly. A breath of fresh, calming air. I've never made it to one of their author readings but I know they do a lot to support the local literary scene. Newton Center's big parking lot is right in front.

Great bookstore. They're well-stocked with new books, kids' books, travel and cook books. Older books and poetry books are sometimes not in stock but the staff is always willing to order for you. Orders generally come in within a few days.
