Tipping Cow Ice Cream

Delicious, and consciously free of peanuts and tree nuts! As someone with a peanut allergy, this is a huge treat. I got a flight of three flavors, and all were great. Portions were generous, too. We'll be back the next time we're in Boston.

We got the ice cream cake from tipping cow for my 5 year olds birthday party. He was beyond excited - even more than the presents themselves - to get to have a "safe ice cream cake." He has an allergy to tree nuts and peanuts. The cake itself was huge, delicious, and you know how at birthday parties parents tend to not eat the cake when it's offered.... that did not happen at our party, parent's were asking for another piece because it was so good.

We are so grateful to have this amazing tasting, allergy friendly ice cream store in the community. Thank you from the bottom of my family's heart for helping us make a special memory that my son won't ever forget.

The ice cream and the service are both fantastic. In addition, the prices are lower, relative to similar establishments. This is by far the best place to go for ice cream in Cambridge/Somerville/Boston.

My boyfriend and I love coming here whenever we get the chance, because the ice cream is always so fresh and delicious and the owners are always so kind. We especially love going in the summer for their seasonal strawberry basil ice cream! Can't recommend them enough.

Yum, Yum, & Yummy. A perfect ice cream snack on a warm fall day. The ice cream was delicious and the staff friendly. Masks were required of customers and staff was wearing masks so this is a great ice cream take out place even during COVID.

I bought some pints from a local grocery as the store owners are currently taking a well-deserved vacation. They were extremely tasty and subtle. Not too heavy, not too light. Really well made and high quality ingredients. I especially, and surprisingly, liked the "sweet corn" flavor. I can't recommend Tipping Cow enough!

This is a great place to get ice cream, especially if you have any nut allergies. I love that they have special flavors throughout the year.

So excited to finally try this neighborhood place. The icecreams are clearly homemade, and both the dairy and non-dairy options were great. The non-dairy coconut icecreams were not only delicious, but they had a great soft, creamy texture. I can eat dairy (unlike my partner) but I would consider doing the non-dairy myself.

We just moved around the corner and stumbled upon this place and had to check it out as our neighborhood ice cream shop. Safe to say we were not disappointed!! The ice cream is delicious — they have your regular every day flavors as well as ones that you don’t see often, like grapenut or sweet corn. The folks working are always so friendly, and they expertly handle lines going out the door on hot summer nights. We’ve been back so many times this season and are always looking forward to our next stop at Tipping Cow! 🐄🐄🐄

Stumbled upon this place but turned out that the ice cream is excellent. Got the large (regular, not sugar) cone, which came with 3 scoops (I got birthday cake, green tea, and oreo&mint). The scoops were massive (imagine 1.5 inches tall each scoop). Would advise using a cup rather than a normal cone for the large, since I almost dropped the ice cream twice because it was so large (had to catch the ice cream with my phone the first time)...

The earl grey + lemon was more lemon with with a subtle floral note. Mint chip was nicely minty and creamy. Generous portions and better than J.P. Licks. I now understand why people were lined up outside.

Update: their lavender ice cream is AMAZING

Wow! This ice cream is fabulous! It's especially creamy without feeling too heavy. The flavors are perfect! We've tried cookies and cream, creamsicle, banana pudding, and key lime pie. The banana pudding is ice cream is so good! The flavor is strong and fresh. You can tell no artificial ingredients are used. The key lime pie ice cream is nice and tart. My husband loves the creamsicle flavor. The people are very friendly. Give this place a try and you'll keep coming back. This is my new go-to ice cream place. Bring on the summer!

I tried three of their flavors. I love to mix flavors so I tired Lavender w/ Chocolate sooooo good. I also tried the cannoli flavor which was also tasty.

Awesome seasonal flavors so there is always something new to try. May be the best ice cream in Somerville and isn't overpriced even though it could be for how good it is.

Best flavors of any shop around! Limited toppings, but that is less important when the ice cream itself is so good!

This corner has a special place in me heart. It used to be the place to go after school and grab a snack with my friends during middle school. Glad to see a new business!

Great ice cream here! Very family friendly and located next to a playground. Wouldn’t recommend the hot fudge sundae because they use chocolate sauce, not hot fudge, but the ice cream is great and they have a variety of flavors.

I always love trying new ice cream and Tipping Cow does not disappoint. Tipping Cow has some of the best tasting ice cream I've ever had, with both unique and classic flavors. Family run business which definitely deserves a try! Look out for their delicious seasonal flavors!
