Dr Kangs Dental Office

I've been a patient of Dr. Kang's for coming on two years. I can say with confidence that he's the best dentist I've ever had, and that I highly recommend him. His practice is centered around prevention and making your mouth (and you) as healthy as possible. This comes from his DMD/PhD background and understanding that working with patients to improve habits is the best course. He knows that extensive treatment is often not the best plan of action. This also means he's sensitive to financial concerns. Since his practice remains very small, you get excellent attention from Dr. Kang himself as opposed to assistants. Set up an appointment with him. You'll be happy you did.

I recently moved to Newton and was in the market for a new dentist. Like most young professionals these days, I went online and Googled Newton dentists. Dr. Kang's website was welcoming and professional, as was he. Almost immediately after e-mailing him, Dr. Kang called me to explain his practice and run through what to expect. When I went to his office for my appointment, he was wonderful - informative, friendly, honest - everything you could hope for in a dentist. The exam and cleaning were both thorough and (unlike some dentist appointments) extremely tolerable. Throughout the appointment, Dr. Kang was explaining his process and giving me the same recommendations that he would give his family. Dr. Kang is the best dentist I've every had, and I highly recommend him without reservation.

I've been searching for an ideal dentist through my entire life of 40 plus some years. Before meeting this wonderful, honest and gentle doctor, every time I saw any other dentist, I used to feel that they were only seeing me as a source of income, working on unnecessary things, drilling on my healthy teeth, intimidating me by saying that my teeth will all fall out unless I blindly follow their orders.

Now, I'm so happy that I finally have found Dr. Yoon, truly selfless and trust-worthy doctor who really and only recommends what is truly good for my teeth. His technique is definitely as good as, or much superior to any other I've seen. He spends time in talking and explaining to me the procedures in detail. He is truly one of a kind in the dentistry field, who understands patients' needs, how we feel about what's comfortable and what's not, and (probably from what I understood from chatting with him) who owns some academic experience in not just dentistry but in engineering science or something like that. Last but not least, he is very friendly, accessible, and easy-going unlike those stern-faced doctors. The bottom line, he is the man who saves your tooth.

My experience was painless which is usually rare to say about visiting the dentist. Dr. Kang was more than happy to answer any questions I had. His practice focuses on patient care and preventative measures. This was a relief because in my experience it seems that far too many dentists are quick to want to drill or do unnecessary procedures. His pratice is small but this means he knows exactly who you are when you walk through the door. I would recommend him to anyone in the Newton or Brighton area who is looking for a new dentist.

Dr. Kang is a great option for those who are looking for a dentist in the Newton Centre area. Very accommodating despite his limited hours. Respectful of patients and takes the time to speak with them instead of at them. Explains things as well as any dentist I've ever had, so he's especially good for those who hate it when doctors/dentists use professional jargon in order to discourage and dissuade patients from questioning their actions. Dr. Kang encourages questions and does his best to answer them, providing multiple options and allowing you to have the final say on matters.

For those who are local students without a school dental plan, Dr. Kang might make a particularly good option for you. I'm a BC graduate student and utilized Dr. Kang's services through the Basix (sp?) Program. You pay a reduced rate out of pocket but with no monthly insurance premiums, resulting in very affordable rates--especially for routine procedures. Even with more expensive procedures, his prices are extremely reasonable when you price-shop. He also offers special deals for first-time clients.

다른 곳도 한 번 알아보시는 것도 좋다는 권유는 제게 상당한 신뢰감을 주었습니다. 전화를 끊고 나서 이 대화에 대해 생각해보고, 바로 예약했습니다.

치료 내용과 치료비에 대해 굉장히 만족합니다.

1. 치료 과정에서 제 의견을 확실히 물어봤습니다. 의문이 가는 것은 애매하지 않게 확실히 답변해주었습니다.

2. 철사의 변형 정도가 예전보다 심해, 자르게 될까봐 걱정했습니다.
(자를 경우, 추후 한국에서 치료 비용이 굉장히 높아져 그만큼 심리적으로 부담됩니다. 또한, 한국으로 돌아가기 전까지 유지 장치가 떨어져나간 이의 위치가 움직일까봐 불안했습니다)
다행히 원래 남아있던 본드의 형태를 그대로 보존하여 최소한의 자극으로 완벽하게 붙여줬습니다.
(치료를 받은지 4일이 지난 지금도 멀쩡히 붙어있습니다)

3. 추가적인 치료비를 받지 않고 본래 상담했던 금액만큼만 받았습니다.
제 기억이 맞다면, 이 가격은 한국 치과에서 치료 받았을 경우,, 비슷하거나 더 싼 가격입니다.

4. 미국 여행 중 다시 떨어질 경우, 무료로 다시 치료해줄 것을 약속해줬습니다.

외국에서 처음으로 가보는 치과라, 사실은 굉장히 불안하고 부담되었는데 말끔히 해결해주셨습니다. 감사합니다!
