This ER is AMAZING please read:

After having a terrible experience at our in town hospital, we decided to drive to Jefferson.
I cannot remember the receptionists name, but they treated us with kindness and care. I was checked in, spent no more than 15 minutes in the waiting room. Jenny (or Jen?) was our nurse and called us back and took us to our room. She was very caring, one of the best nurses I’ve encountered. Before she was even finished checking my blood work, a man arrived to take me to get and ultrasound (& yes he was awesome too!)
Within ten minutes of the ultra sound Dr. Kent Smith came in and thoroughly discussed my symptoms. He didn’t rush me, or make me feel like all this pain was in my head. He believed me. After talking about the symptoms I’ve had for two months now, he ordered blood work and had me drink something to numb my stomach to see if this was an ulcer.
I was nervous about drinking the concoction for my stomach, but the nurse Jenny really calmed me down and even told me about her experiences with it, it made me feel better and gave me hope that we could finally figure this all out.
I drank the stuff and it worked, stomach started feeling better. Boom, just like that he diagnosed me with an ulcer.
Then our nurse Jenny said she was leaving and we had another nurse come in, I was sad honestly because she was great.

But what happened? We got another great nurse named Rachel! She was just as amazing, just as caring, and truly understood what we had been going through.

Everyone we encountered listened to us, showed us compassion and true care for me while I was there.

This has been the best hospital experience I’ve ever had at an ER.

I will only recommend this hospital to people from now on. The staff is amazing, and they truly care about people.

I recently crushed the tip of one of my fingers in my wood splitter. I live in an outlying area of Sequim but chose to go to the ER at Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend. I'm so glad I did. From the get-go I was impressed with everyone's efficiency and professionalism. My wait in the ER was not long--I think less than 1 hour. After my initial visit and treatment in the emergency room I came in a few days later to see the Orthopedics doctors. I was checked in by someone named Craig (did not get his last name), and I was treated by Natalie Camacho, PA, and hand surgeon, Joseph Meyerson. The fingernail had to be removed and the cut across the nail bed stitched up. The following week I went to occupational therapy and saw Laverne Chua who made me a custom splint for that finger. Five stars all around for everyone. Warm, friendly, and very professional. I didn't get the name of the x-ray technician and a few others, but you know who you are. I am extremely pleased with how I was treated and also very grateful for surgeons and other staff who spend years in training to be able to take the best care of the rest of us. I highly recommend this Hospital (and its staff), and if I ever have another emergency (I hope not!) this will be my first choice.

Where do I start, without JGH I wouldn’t be here. Yes, there was one nurse and one doctor I have avoided but for the most part EVERYONE is top notch. Oncology, Urology, Dermatology, Radiology, Orthopedic, Cafeteria, Lab and blood draw are all areas I or my wife have utilized and received super great care & we don’t have to travel or wait months to receive this great care. I am truly sorry there are those that feel they have been wronged or received less care than they should have. I feel blessed to have Jefferson General Hospital in our community.

First time at this hospital and I am so pleased with the respect and care that I got. The people that took care of me where so caring and sweet. I would rather drive from sequim to Port Townsend hospital, any day , then to port angles hospital. Thank you, for all the concern and care. Tami

I have had a couple procedure’s, knee surgery, and physical therapy sessions. I go regularly for blood draws. I am very happy to have these services available in our small town. I have been impressed with the staff. I recommend it.

In the last six months, I visited Jefferson County Hospital. When I saw Dr. Christianson was really happy because he is such a good doctor. I knew him from port Angeles hospital. He is very smart and. Really tries to figure out what’s wrong. He is actually the best doctor I’ve ever seen. Great guy very knowledgeable. Definitely an awesome ER doctor.

I went to the emergency room and had a really terrible experience. Since speaking with the Patient Advocate and sharing my concerns regarding that visit, I've been back in the ER two times. Both times, I was treated with respect and given excellent care. My nurse, Jenny, on the first visit and Kevin, on the second visit, were outstanding.

Just spoke with Kyra from Jefferson Healthcare who was following up on referrals from my MD and she scheduled two appointments to check my heart health and she was incredible. Sometimes this subject matter can make people even more overwhelmed than they might already be not to mention that these providers are inundated with requests from those of us who have been avoiding medical centers. She was patient and explained where what and when. She made sure I had all the information I needed and phone numbers to call in case I need to contact them. It was such a relief talking to a real person and a knowledgeable skilled kind one. I was so impressed with the service and greatly appreciate. Talking with real people versus websites makes a difference.

Had a cat bite that I thought was not serious until the swelling was huge and painful. Went to just get some help and was quickly signed into the hospital. They explained how serious it was, operated at 7PM to open the wound and drain it. Continued excellent care and kept in the hospital and taught me how to care for such a wound. Tracked me to make sure the wound had healed. My neighbor was bit by a dog, went to a different medical hospital and one year later still has problems. Glad I went to Jeff Gen!!

When I had a hysterectomy at Jefferson there was an accident. I had a tipped uterus and there was a small hole cut into my bladder and my ureter was severed. Fortunately my doctor knew immediately that what had happened and contacted our local Urologist Dr. Dimitri. Dr. Dimitri has a world class urologist and a brilliant man. He was able to repair both my ureter and bladder by placing the ureter in the new home and repairing my bladder. The care that I received at Jefferson hospital was above and beyond any other hospital that I have spent time in. The nurses were all very kind and give me fabulous care. The doctors including the surgeon who did the hysterectomy we’re all very queer honest and upfront about everything that I happened. This type of accident is not unusual in a hysterectomy as it is all soft tissue and when you have a tipped uterus it is even more likely. I would recommend Jefferson Hospital to anyone for any reason. Over the years we have spent a lot of time in the emergency room and have never felt that the care given there was not the best that we could have received.

Rotator Cuff Surgeries
I am so grateful for the amazing care I received while having my rotator cuff surgeries at Jefferson Health Care Hospital in Port Townsend.

For the past several years I have been having sleepless nights and annoying pain in both my shoulders. I didn’t know I had torn all 4 tendons in my right shoulder and 3 tendons on my left.

My doctor had me get an MRI on both shoulders which showed the torn tendons. At the hospital I was lucky enough to get Dr Jeremy Idjadi. He is without a doubt top notch. Scheduling with the hospital was easy and friendly. Dr Idjadi is a true professional and laid out what I should expect for the next several months. I found that rotator cuff surgery is a team commitment and even if your doctor does the best possible job the responsibility lies in me taking it seriously and following the detailed rehab instructions.

After my surgery the hospital followed up the next day, made my next doctor appointment and gave me the freedom to call if I ever had any questions.

I did my 1st surgery (left shoulder) in August of 2021 and my 2nd surgery (right shoulder) in December of 2021. Dr Idjadi and his orthopedic staff knocked it out of the park with the success of my operations. Dr. Idjadi is a competent, approachable and as professional as they come. I cannot say enough positive things about him. The entire process was such a wonderful experience.

Thoughtful, efficient, professional care. I ended up in the ER unexpectedly due to a blood clot that was found in my leg after an ultra sound. From the minute we arrived, every staff member was friendly and efficient. We were taken into a room without a wait immediately where a team of four professionals introduced themselves and explained their role. They detailed the concern that the blood clot in my leg may have progressed to my lungs and they needed to do further testing as I was having difficulty breathing. Within minutes, I had met Dr. Parker for an overview of what to expect, I had my vitals taken by the nurse, and was introduced to Ryan, who would take me for a CT scan. I felt confident in the entire team. Ryan was exceptional in taking the time to explain what to expect in the CT Scan and Dr. Parker was thorough in explaining the results and treatment. Tom, the ER Tech, was also a great resource in explaining what was happening and assisting in all areas. The entire staff was exceptionally caring, thorough, and patient. Ultimately, Dr. Parker even went above and beyond by getting additional information for my situation as I am a diver and she reached out to another bariatric care facility for further information about my capacity to dive after a pulmonary embolism. Ultimately, we felt very well cared for here and grateful for the entire team.

Took my husband in for kidney stones (10mm & 5mm). He was taken back immediately & his nurse, Robin was quick with the IV to start pain meds immediately. Dr Smith was very quick to get him diagnosed & treated and was empathetic towards his pain. The medical staff was professional & efficient. Patiently answered our questions & concerns. Hospital was very clean. We were in & out within 2-3 hours max. Will definitely go back if need low level trauma care. Thank you Robin, Dr Smith & Front reception Sara?Sheri? I came to the ER at 3am with terrible back & stomach pain, I was checked in quickly. The whole staff was very attentive, friendly & efficient. In no time I was diagnosed with an infected gall bladder & had to have surgery. The Doctor & Surgeon were very informative & reassuring, the whole process went smoothly & I was home the same day. Highly recommend this hospital! A huge thank you to the staff!!!❤

In January 2017, I want to the ER on 9 occassions at all different times due to extreme headaches and high blood pressure. Each and every time I was admitted right away, the staff was professional and confident. It is usually a terrifying situation being in ER and I think their calm composure confuses people. They think the staff should be more concerned and be more attentive. On all 9 plus times I visited the ER, I was treated with respect and found the staff very attentive.

I have always had the best of care at this hospital. Now with the COVID-19 pandemic, they are taking extraordinary measures to keep everyone safe, even though it requires additional staff and less income. They are prompt, courteous, friendly and professional. The blood draws are painless, my treatment in the emergency room was immediate, with frequent check-ins by both the nurse and doctor - even headphones and TV available. They take extra measures to insure your privacy, safety and comfort.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Beginning with the staff, from the caring and positive maintenance people to the clerks to each of the healthcare professionals, no question was left unanswered; and the positive attitude and response from everyone is felt immediately, nurturing, healing. The people of East Jefferson County are blessed to have this level of professionals caring for us. The new facility is a huge improvement and the food gets 5 stars as well; amazing cafe with such a creative, delicious menu and so reasonable. My husband is now home after spending 6 nights there and healing from a stroke. We both feel he could not have been in better hands anywhere in the world. Thank you.

Jefferson Healthcare provided extraordinary care for my husband while we were visiting Port Townsend. From the 911 paramedics to the ER staff to the doctors, nurses and the whole medical team, my husband received excellent care throughout the 24 hours in hospital. It’s stressful to have a medical emergency in a location far from home but our experience at Jefferson Healthcare was so positive that we wish this facility and it’s very competent, caring, totally professional staff could be our hometown healthcare option. Port Townsend is fortunate to have this quality medical facility and personnel for their health needs. Thank you!

Family member taken quickly to Emergency Department with allergic blood pressure medication reaction requiring emergency placement on a respirator. All staff acted with utmost care, speed, professionalism. Was very impressed by the quality of care provided in such a small town hospital. All staff were very friendly, highly competent and passionate in their pursuit of great patient care.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. While visiting PT, I needed care. The Express Clinic met my needs with respect, professionalism, kindness, and lots of smiles. The nurse (short grey hair and glasses), the receptionist, and the RNNP, Amy Grace, were kind and supportive. My needs were met.
