A family favorite spot for decades. Great place to walk around and explore. So much to see and do. Love the history of the fort. The museum is filled with amazing artifacts. Beautiful camping spots if you are into that.

Hidden gem along the ocean!
We booked a vacation house and it was old building, built in 1905, but was clean!
2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and kitchen living room and porch on the main level. Lush grounds, lots of walking tracks and amazing ocean views , made it a very relaxing and quiet vacation!
Gorgeous views from the porch and bedroom, lots of deer, birds and boats!

We had such a great stay at the lower campground! It was so peaceful and quiet…lots of birding, watching otters, viewing Mt Baker over the canal, and even seeing the light from Fort Worden Lighthouse at night.

Camped two nights in the upper and lower campground using WA state's Disabled Veterans State Parks For Life Pass to camp for free.

The upper campground is very wooded and felt comfortable, with most people tent camping. Quiet hours were respected and the sites were well sized.

The lower campground was a short walk from the beach. I did feel closer in comfort to a trailer park than a campground for a tent camper.

The bunkers were fun to explore. I set up a mobile recording station in one of the U shaped bunkers, and recorded some guitar and vocals with a mic, electric guitar and amp. The reverb tail was at least 10 seconds and I will be using it for other various projects.

Fort Flagler has a lot to offer. There are lots of trails and gun batteries to explore. There is the beach with a spit to walk down at low tide. The beach is sandy, so bring your sand castle toys. Lots of drift wood to make your very own fort. The camping has a lower loop for those who like hookups or have a larger RV and an upper loop for tents and small trailers. If you don't like to camp there are also houses to rent. There is so much to off at this State Park, I highly recommend going even if it's just a day trip.

There are too many things to recommend here! It is one of the largest, most exportable, off the beaten path, locations to go around here. Wildlife galore, historic, with plenty of amenities there's plenty for everyone. My go to spot for photography in this area! If you're at all curious, go check it out.

This is an awesome campground, with miles of trails for hiking and biking. If you kayak, it's a great place for that too. The lower campground is quiet, well laid out, and has great views. The upper campground doesn't have the views, but is also very nice (but it's closed in the off season).

On our bike ride there we had 6 eagles circling overhead at one point

Our family’s favorite place to camp yearly! We love the coastal camp area for kite flying and playing in the sand. Beautiful scenery and amazing, friendly staff. There’s even a Beachcomber’s Cafe for yummy burgers and sandwiches. My 4 year old son participated in the Scavenger hunt last weekend and earned his first Junior Badge. Our friends from Honolulu joined us on this trip and they had a great time too. Will be back again next year!

It was a great afternoon to visit this beautiful park! So happy we were able to visit finally. Bathrooms are a little scarce in the fort and battery areas so plan your trip around the signs as you see them. Tons of hiking trails and lots of wildlife, including a coyote. Trails to the main batteries; Wilhelm, Revere and Rawlins is gravel but level. Getting to Battery Lee and Downes are dirt paths that are down hill from the main batteries and may be hard for those with mobility issues to get to. Battery Grattan is another easy one to get to but it is a walk that is mostly grass. We did not explore every battery this fort has but the ones we did visit were open and most rooms were labeled to let you know what they were once used for. The parks website has a ton of information for tours and programs that are available. Very much worth a stop!

Stunning scenery and beach covered with driftwood and beautiful shells! Not busy at all with ample parking, picnic tables, bathroom, and a small playground. There are many other places to visit in the park we only made it to one today. Can't wait to go back!

There are plenty of reviews that talk about what to do, I'll cover the "amenities" of the park. First and foremost, the park has a coffee stand/mini mart/cafe. This is extremely rare for state parks in the area and was cool to see. Camp sites are well marked and each site has a picnic table and fire pit. There are a lot of sites that have full hookups for those that need them. The bathrooms are clean, well stocked and have free showers. The water is hot and there is good pressure. Cell reception is fair depending on your carrier. Overall, I imagine any family or couple would have a great experience camping here.

I'd been to Ft Flagler a few times over the years and always thought of it as a nice "quick and scenic" hiking trip to take my dog through the battery field or down to the beach. Then last year I found all the trails - so many miles of trails that I never knew existed (being observant isn't always one of my strong traits), and more I know I haven't explored yet. Then two years ago I found the Beachcomber Cafe at the camping area on Port Townsend Bay while searching for coffee in the local area. So many deer are roaming about as well. Beachcomb, hike, bike, take in the views of the Straits, people watch, explore, etc. So much to do.

Nice campground. Some large sites and some small ones that can be rented together for multiple familys. Old barracks are fun to explore. The gentleman at the museum was extremely informative

First time to the Port Townsend area. Drove over to Fort Flagler. Beautiful park now. Saw a herd of deer lunching on the lawn as we entered the park. Nice drive down to the water passing the old battery facilities.

I don't know what to say besides what's already been said in other reviews. This is a great place. Super well maintained.

I stayed in the upper campground. The area is full of trees and shade. There is one shower in the ladies restroom, the very last stall. The restroom was well stocked with toilet paper and soap. The lower campground has very little to no trees, better for solar energy. The lower camp ground has closer access to general store and play ground. The water is beautiful and clear. Pet friendly.

Had a blast camping at Flagler! Clean facilities, got an rv site for the power (just makes life easier) staff was phenomenally friendly. So many trails and fun tour options. No way to do it ALL in a weekend. My family and I will be back, again and again.

An exciting Historical State Park (Military) where you can spend the day (except for National Holidays). When fully active and all venues are open, you will have to have a Discover Pass. (It's free to drive through, but be sure to check). Should you care to stop and walk around, without the Discover Pass, it could cost some.
