Little Sunshine's Playhouse and Preschool of Southlake

After not having our son in childcare, at 18 months old we decided to enroll him to help further his socialization and learning. We toured 6+ facilities in the DFW metroplex before landing on Little Sunshine. We loved the building itself, the storybook touches, and the executive staff was incredibly kind and made us feel our son would be in good hands. He has been working through separation issues so morning drop offs are always emotional for him but his teachers are phenomenal and do everything they can to comfort and nurture him through the morning tears. Ms. Nicole and Ms.Carissa are so wonderful, and I love to see all the new words, signs, and skills he comes home with. I have no idea how they manage a room full of toddlers but they always seem to be genuinely enjoying it! One thing I immediately noticed was from our first day, everyone knew my sons name, and mine and my husbands name. It creates an instant feeling of connection and that your family isn’t just a number. As a very protective mom- I cannot express how nice it is to know our son is safe, and nurtured during the day- and having fun!!! The food they serve is excellent, and the daily activities are fun, themed, and very developmentally appropriate.

We recently moved to Little Sunshine’s and we have been so happy with our decision! Ms. Hannah and Ms. Kiara have been so wonderful to our little boy and I can see how happy he is at school through all the updates they send us throughout the day. I can see how much they care for him and he’s learning so much. The office staff is also so wonderful and welcoming. We are so happy to be apart of such an amazing school!

Miss Bliss, has helped my granddaughter blossom. She is learning something new everyday.
She is so happy and excited to go to school. When she isn’t at school she talks about it all the time. After looking at multiple preschools we chose the right one for her. Miss Tia gave us our tour of school last spring and we knew right away she was where she belongs. Miss Tia is a very warm and loving woman.

When I tell you switching to this school was/is the best choice I ever made for my boys! Ms. Mitchell is amazing! Ms Mitchell puts her heart and soul into everything she does and it does not go unnoticed. Ms Brion and Ms.Tarmara are amazingly awesome they are so patient and kind with my little one and he's blooms so quickly since starting! Both my boys have blossoms being here and thrived! They jump out of bed ready to go to school! All the teachers are amazing Ms. Bliss, Ms. Lorie, Ms. Syla, Ms Ashley, Ms. Faith, Ms Nicole so many more I can name they walked in to the school and everybody is greeting them asking how they are! Truly feels like we're home❤ I love the management ❤ I can go on for hours! Best choice I ever made❤❤❤😍 Thank you so much ladies for everything y'all do

Miss Bliss is such an amazing Teacher and my daughter absolutely adores her! She has taught my daughter so much and has been very helpful with potty training. Thank you to all the amazing Teachers at Little Sunshine's Playhouse!

Our little boy has blossomed so much in Miss Glenda and Miss Pamela’s class! They have helped him from transitioning to table food to saying his first words. I can’t say enough about how they care for all the babies and prepare them for the toddler classes. We love them both!

We’re so grateful for the care that LSP gives our child. The warm smiles that Ms Tia, Ms Kathy, and Ms Laura greet us with start the day off wonderfully. Our child loves starting the morning off in Ms Michelle’s classroom, but then moves to his class to spend the rest of the day with Ms Hannah and Ms Kiara (both of who he adores). When we pick him up, he tells us all about the fun things he did and how he’s excited to see his friends and teachers the next day. We love the kindness and attention to detail LSP has.

We have been so pleased with the love and care our son has been shown by LSP. His teachers Ms. Ashley and Ms. Faith are patient and kind always. My son loves them and even talks about them on the weekend. Highly recommend!

Absolutely love LSP! My grand daughter is 3 years old and has been going to LSP since she was a baby. The teachers are fabulous! Always a joy to see Ms. Tia, Ms. Kathy, Ms. Bliss, and Ms. Hannah!

We love Ms. Brion and Mrs. Tamara from Green Gables room. They do an amazing job taking care of the kids and she has learned so much from them. Really appreciate all that they do. They are all amazing.

Our daughter loves Little Sunshine’s Playhouse. Tia, Kathy, and Victoria in the front office our amazing and go above and beyond for the kiddos. Caroline is so excited to see her teacher and friends in the morning. Thanks Little Sunshine!

We love LSP! We moved here from another facility and have really enjoyed our experience here! Our teachers are great and the facility is amazing! They have cameras in every room and outside. They have a chef who prepares healthy meals for the kids and luv notes are sent every day with how your child did that day.

I would also like to add that the concern indicated below was addressed immediately by the administration.

From the many choices of daycare centers around DFW, this one definitely stood out. From the multiple creative activities, to the healthy meals throughout the day, it’s been a blessing to be a part of the Little Sunshine’s Playhouse family! My kids both enjoy going there and I have full visibility to their daily activities and schedules. I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking for a safe, clean and fun place that truly takes care of their children.

Our girls have been going to this Preschool for about a year now and we LOVE it. They ask to go and play with friends and they always talk about the teachers. The teachers are FANTASTIC. The ladies in the front are always there with a smile on their face and they welcome the kids by name and always say bye to them. Its a warm, educated and fun place to have your children go to. I enjoy the family feel and I highly recommend it.

Little Sunshine takes such good care of my baby while I’m at work! Ms. Glenda & Ms. Pam are such blessings!

My son joined Little Sunshine Playhouse @southlake since its beginning.
Little Sunshine Playhouse is the only preschool as far as I know that uses Reggio as their curriculum in southlake area. You will notice the differences from the beginning. For example all the classrooms have different sizes. At younger age, they have smaller classrooms to let the kids feel more secure. As the kids get older, they need more friends, and bigger space to explore.
The layout of the classrooms is designed for children's different needs. There are building blocks corner, pretend play corner, circle time corner, little library corner, etc. Each classroom has a door to the outdoor playground. That makes the outdoor playground an extension of the indoor space. Kids feel more comfortable and happy exploring both.
When the kids have more freedom to explore by themselves, they develop their social, emotional, cognitive, and language skills better.
The luvnotes/daily report, which includes a photo taken that day, always makes me happy.
They have three extra curriculum activities, including soccer, basketball, and gymnastics. Parents need to pay for these, but very affordable, and kids really enjoy it.
Web-camera is definitely a big plus. You can check on your little one from time to time.
Of course, teacher turnover rate is also an issue in LSP. But the management is very supportive and effective. They try their best to make sure the transition be smooth, fast and seamless.
Overall, I recommend LSP, especially to the parents who want a real “learn through play” based school.

This is my daughter's first preschool experience. When she first started going she had a tough transitional period. Her teachers worked with her and helped make the adjustment as smooth as possible.

Absolutely love LSP and everything about it! Ms. Emy & Ms. Jenny have done a great job keeping it together. The facility is awesome and the staff is made up of amazing, wonderful, & fun people!
