We came here for new years eve dinner and the food and atmosphere were perfect for what we were looking for. A casual but gourmet level dinner.

The place has the feel of a New England tavern that also happens to serve upscale food not unlike such places in New England.

One of the best restaurants in Denton County.

Our visit to Shoal Creek Tavern was delightful. The nachos were the best I've ever had, and the chicken fried rice was quite enjoyable. The fact that all the food items are made from scratch added to my satisfaction. The ambience, particularly the outdoor seating with a water fountain and lovely decoration where we sat, was beautiful. Despite the heavy crowd, the service was excellent. I highly recommend this place, especially for fellow food enthusiasts.

We will be back!! The food and the service was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! Jayden is the best server!! He recommended the bourbon pecan ice cream pie, and it's one of the best desserts I've ever had! (And I've had a lot of desserts) you MUST try this place!!

Shoal Creek Tavern is simply amazing. The perfect dining experience began with the expertly trained staff. Our waiter Josh made sure our meal was one to remember. Josh knew every nuance of the menu. With so many great dishes to choose from, I followed Josh’s advice and ordered the Ribeye. Faith had her favorite Brunch item the brisket omelette. Chef’s execution is as awesome as his creativity. The Manager was also attentive and made us feel like family. This was our second visit, and we will be back!

First time here, real friendly wait staff, food quality was good and portions also pretty ample. Nachos were also surprisingly good and a *lot* more than I thought.

Tried this place for the first time and I’ll definitely go again. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and welcome. Our server, Lauren was a gem. She was friendly, bubbly and knowledgeable of the menu. I wish every restaurant had a Lauren.
I ordered the “Seafood Mixed Grill which was fresh salmon, crab stuffed shrimp and bacon wrapped scallops served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Although the food wasn’t hot, it was still delicious. The scallops were my absolute favorite as they were cooked to perfection. I also ordered a pineapple sweet tea that made we want to buy a gallon.
Overall the service, atmosphere and food were exceptional.

This restaurant is the coolest! I wish it was closer to home. They have a really big bar inside with plenty of seating and a very cool indoor patio. We received very friendly and attentive service. I enjoyed my Cobb Salad that was full of fresh goodies. My whiskey sour deserves some big KUDOS to the bartender!! I definitely recommend this place and will be back if I'm ever in the area.

We went out for girls brunch; Mom and the girls and we absolutely loved it!! Jayden was our server, he was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, we felt at home with the pretty and welcoming manager, sorry I forgot her name lol. But we’ll definitely be back! They did not disappoint!!

Excellent food and service! I had the asada and my husband had the chicken breast. The drink were excellent as well! Erik did a great job service and very friendly!

2nd time here and another 5 star experience. You must try their weekend brunch! Owner took time to say hello and our waiter Connor was outstanding. Looking fwd to our next visit

Ashley was great and our server Tomas was on point! He had a great personality, knew the menu well and made appropriate recommendations. Our meal was excellent. Will definitely be back, soon.

You have to visit more than once. The selection is amazing. The service is also. Ask for Katie. Had dessert for the first time in forever. I forgot to take a picture of the GREAT presentation. But these are the left overs. Lol

Chena was the best waitress. This is the second time she has waited on us and each time she was fantastic. Prompt, drinks were never empty, and checked on us just the perfect amount of times. We loved her positive and infectiously happy personality!

I'm not much of writing reviews good or bad. But I have to give credit where credit is due. I now have visited this restaurant several times.  Great and friendly atmosphere from the welcome greetings to the thank you when exiting the restaurant. Appreciated the staff knowing the menu and great suggestions.  The food is always wonderful. A must try.

Our server, Erik, was amazing. He gave great recommendations and was so personable. The food was delicious. Definitely try the Buffalo cauliflower bites! Our drinks were super tasty. Especially liked the BlackBerry lavender martini and the dragon fruit martini (if you want something not as sweet). Overall it was a fantastic experience. Will definitely be back!

Finally came here for brunch and it was DELICIOUS!! Got the Texas sized mimosa and jalapeño corn cake, which was incredible. The price of everything was absolutely worth it too. Our server, Josh, was extremely attentive and made some great recommendations. I’ll definitely come back for brunch and ask to sit in Josh’s section!

Madeleine the red haired bartender was a sweetheart. really helped me enjoy the experience, even though i only got a couple beers and crab queso. the menu seemed very interesting& i wish i had seen the striped bass ceviche sooner, cuz i really didnt have much time cuz of work. beer/cider selection was great! the crab queso was dank af. i got a wheat beer and pilsner

Erik did a wonderful job! His service, energy and attitude was second to none. Ask for Erik!
The food was wonderful and worth every penny. Taste was excellent and the plate presentations showed that the kitchen truly cares about what they do. Great Job!!!

Kaylee was our waitress and she made our night. She even took wonderful photos for us. The food at Shoal Creek Taven is always over the top wonderful. We love the owners here too. For me and my Wife the Seabass the best we've ever had. We will always be regular at this establishment.
