Alondra's Mexican Restaurant

First time at Alondras in La Vernia,TX. A gem of a Mexican restaurant, friendly hometown atmosphere. I ordered A Gordita and A Tostada, both with picadillo as the meat choice. The Gordita was stuffed with just the right amount of freshly prepared ingredients to make it delicious, and I might add it was not greasy at all like you may experience at some other restaurants. The Tostada was equally tasty, freshly prepared and crispy. The complimentary chips and salsa were an extra bonus to round up my meal.

READ TO THE END BEFORE U DARE TO EAT HERE, PLEASE. If it would allow me on google I’d give this place a absolute negative-5 stars. My family and I loved this restaurant but under new ownership I’m appalled. The food is so cheap and thrown together, I vomited, as one of my kids due to Carne guisada tacos they were so fatty it was almost only fat. Why did y’all take the best Mexican restaurant in our little town and destroy it so that if we want good breakfast tacos you gotta go to San Antonio or buy alpo chunk wet dog food to get better? In our tiny town everyone has regulars and everyone knows each other but you’ve even wrecked that. Not everyone knows yet so they still show up for hope that they might get good food. Not generic canned dog food and yesterday’s left overs. How do I have the knowledge of what they serve are powdered beans, well I’m happy to tell ya, a good friend worked as a waitress and got fired. Fired for telling the new owner the truth about complains, truth about why people weren’t returning and the truth about how disgusting and the food truly is now. What once was the best breakfast in La Vernia is the running joke of how gross it is. Preparing eggs and dried beans with the cheapest cheese the day before is gross. Especially when u add the old with the new food from days prior. This place has been many restaurants before and never had roaches and mice (that aren’t even scared ofyou) try to snatch the food in the kitchen. Please be warned and know the truth. I’ll never eat there again but be aware if you dare. I’m giving 5 stars or they’ll just delete the truth. The man that sold the restaurant refuses to eat there cause he knows they ruined his menu with nastiness. Not even the wait staff will eat the food or drink the nasty old tea, that alone should show you how nasty it is, when you pay for food elsewhere when you can eat garbage free. I pray for those who choose to eat here cause you with get super sick in 24 hours if you make it out without feeling ill. No more, I know of 3 people it sent to the hospital, please don’t eat here or you will get sick too, I promise you. TO THE OWNER, SHAME ON YOU, GET IT TOGETHER AND STOP HURTING PEOPLE!

I will continue to give my business to Alondra's Mexican Restaurant, Customer service, the food that they service is not only great tasting with good size portions. And, most of all their consistency remains the same. That in itself will keep me coming back. Plus, the customer knows that their appreciated. Unlike some of the other mom & pop restaurants that acted like the customer should feel privileged to be eating their food. Alondra's treats their customers like old school. Where the customer is always right. Everything is about customers needs.
So would I refer someone to Alondra's Mexican Restaurant?

Best Green Chicken Enchiladas in San Antonio and surrounding area!

Stopped by for breakfast tacos and they were delicious. The entire restaurant smelled so good. I tried a bite of everything, it was all amazing.

Decided to try something outside of our norm… very glad we did! Larger seating area inside than we thought from the outside! Great menu selection! Outstanding prices! We’ll definitely add Alondra’s to our list of go-to places when we decide to eat out!!

Out of the 3 Mex restaurants in LV I think this one is the best. Really enjoyed the nice service, cleanliness, and food. Each of our meals were served really welk and the corn tortillas were delicious. I could see becoming a regular.

Breakfast tacos and omelettes are very good

I LOVE their chicken fajita taco salad. Full of chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and a dollop of sour cream. Anchored to the plate by smear of refried beans. Hubby loves their cheese enchiladas, with borrachio beans. Outstanding local favorite, and packed by locals during lunch. But never fear, the service is both friendly and fast.

Best tortilla soup ever, I really enjoyed it as well as the staff , I'd really like to have little back ground music in all the restraunts in this town , some do . but some would really give it a little more as your dining thank you

Great food, great tea and reasonable prices. My 1 year old LOVES this place with grandpa to sit and eat. Friendly staff love to interact with him. Just great all around!

Love their in house made corn tortillas, the guys is delicious as well. Am definitely a repeat customer.

Alondra's is always great! I eat here once a week for breakfast and the coffee and food are wonderful, not to mention the great service that always comes with a smile.
