Honmachi Sushi & Teppanyaki Stone Oak Location

This is a good place for good sushi and in general all the food is good taste and I have known this place for already 11 years and still like to come for chicken teriyaki plate, I love it. BUT, just this is the first time I've tried the appetizer shrimp tempura, and I have to say that I didn't like it, 🙃 looks so great, but they don't have any flavor, really plain and I have to request another sauce like the eel sauce for a better flavor but still not good. For a suggestion, they should put a better sauce or pit some seasoning for the best flavor because the look is very attractive to eat but very dessapointed to taste.

The service was great, the Fuji Tower was an awesome dish and the sauce was really really delicious 🤤. I would recommend the Ono sashimi!!! I will return for more menu experiences.

Loved this place. Food was great. I got the chicken yakisoba, my son got the chicken katsu and wife, the seasoning chicken. All of us loved the food. I just wish we would have sat at the hibachi grill.. The Cook was quite animated. Highly recommended!

The food was absolutely delicious. The service was amazing, and the saketini that they make is so good as well! We ordered the dinner for two teppan, priced at $80, it was definitely worth it. We were able to make 4 meals out of it, two there at the restaurant and 2 for lunch the next day from left overs.

Will definitely be back to try other dishes as well.

This was my first visit, it will definitely not be my last. The food was phenomenal, the staff were very friendly. We didn't sit at the grill area but we were close enough to see the show and feel the heat from the fire. The food was priced as expected for the meals, I have never complained about paying a decent amount when the food is so tasty and the service was great as it was in this case. You will not be disappointed with the food or service.

My partner and I absolutely love the food here, and have been coming since 2019.

Over the years services has definitely dwindled down a bit, and it just takes really long to sit you if they don’t have enough staff during the shift. But food still worthy so we have waited it out to get the dining experience.

Phenomenal experience tonight at this restaurant! We made reservations the day before, (you will need a reservation to sit at the hibachi tables- no walk ins allowed!) and we are so glad we did. It was our first time here & we were so pleasantly surprised. We decided on the chef special for 2- ribeye, chicken & shrimp. We had “Mr. T” as our chef. Hilarious & a DARN good cook! Well worth the price. Personally, I’d skip the sushi next time & just work up the appetite for the massive portions of hibachi! We will be back! Read the reviews ahead of time & was worried about “bad service” & “restaurant being unbearably hot”. It does get a little warm, but that’s to be expected when you’re sitting so close to the flat top. Food is worth it! Our service from the server was also very good & prompt. Overall wonderful experience!

*The only con was that the restroom was not taken care of, I felt like I needed to wash my hands after washing my hands in there.*

I had the most amazing experience at Hon Machi for my birthday celebration with my family! Our Hibachi chef, John, was an absolute gem. Not only was he an incredibly talented chef, but he also had a gift for making every moment at the table enjoyable. His conversational skills were top-notch, keeping us engaged and entertained throughout the entire meal. John's laid-back and humorous approach added an extra layer of fun to our dining experience. We left the restaurant with smiles on our faces and a strong desire to return. When we come back, we'll definitely be crossing our fingers in the hopes that John will be our chef once again. Thank you, Hon Machi, for providing us with an unforgettable birthday celebration filled with delicious food and fantastic company!

Best teppanyaki in town by far. Not too greasy. So tasty and full of flavor. Dinner for 2 medium rare NY steak, chicken, juicy shrimp. Of course, the honmachi roll and a squid salad which was the star of the show. 10/10 recommend.

We had some delicious food from the appetizer to the entrees & sushi roll. We highly recommend this place. The staff was also friendly.

This was our first visit and we will definitely be returning! The food and service were great and we loved how many options were on the menu.

First time here and it as great! John was awesome at the grill. We ordered egg rolls and a sushi roll while we waited both were good. The hibachi dinner was $37 I got the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. Will def go back.

I ordered take out from here and it was great! Staff was very friendly and helpful. I was able to order ahead of time online and by the time I got there my order was ready. Looking forward to dining-in here soon! Very delicious food!

We finally got the chance to eat here in person at the restaurant and it was even better than my first experience! I can confidently say this is my favorite restaurant in the San Antonio area and HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I brought my fiance' for dinner for her birthday. We are both foodies so I definitely took my time to find a great place to dine. A friend recommended this place so we had to try it. I've been to Benihanas in CA and Sumo Japanese Steakhouse in SA and I was definitely looking forward to this experience. It was a Thursday and it wasn't very busy so we got the Chef all to ourselves . The service was very prompt and expedious and the food was very tasty. We ordered the NY Steak, Shrimp, and Lobster. A side of fried rice each and the sauces for the meats. The meal included a salad and soup as well. This was as good as Benihanas or better; a more intimate experience and definitely way better than Kobe. The chef was entertaining, made conversation and tricks while he cooked in front of us. The overall experience was great and my fiance' was happy and excited after our dinner. We'll definitely be back soon!

Go here for lunch! Very large portions and the soup was fantastic. Great service and you can’t beat the ambiance. Will definitely be coming here again!

Youngest son wanted to celebrate his 20th birthday at this restaurant, based upon the recommendation by his girlfriend. It was definitely a fun experience for all, and the food was GREAT. The corny jokes were hilarious. I particularly liked "Look! Butterfly!" Indeed, the butter flew.

Absolutely lived up to the hype. Service was quick despite the restaurant being over half full. Definitely plan on returning next time I'm in town!

Enjoyed the decor as well as the strategically placed laced TV's.

Sushi was fresh and delicious. Only thing that was bad was the appetizer (tokoyaki) came out cold in the middle. Was great after they took it back and made a fresh batch. I would come here again.
