Sousaku Bistro Japanese Restaurant & Bar

New years Eve, on possibly the worst year in modern history (2020), my girlfriend and I called and went to 4 places and they all had a 2 hour wait for sushi pickup. We then tried this restaurant. They said a 20 minute wait and we have always driven by it and so we placed an order. We went and it was definitely bigger than it looks from the outside. More importantly, the food was delicious. Fresh, with an amazing flavor. We ordered two sushi rolls (spicy salmon/spicy tuna roll and a catapillar roll) and one order of gyoza. We are definitely going back for more. Do yourself a favor and try this place out... you won't regret it.

Delicious food, great prices, and a very courteous staff. The liquor selection there is also the absolute best in the area.

This place is what i consider a hidden gem!! BEST sushi around no questions asked, food tastes great and its always warm and flavorful! Unfortunately many people dont know about this place because its somewhat hidden. This is a must go to if u like or enjoy japanese dishes.

This is hands-down The Best of local authentic Japanese restaurants/sushi houses, around BOSTON! The menu is absolutely amazing which display the entrées in the pictures exactly the same as described, even if you choose delivery! They have an extensive unique sushi selection, as well as an authentic Japanese menu. Wow!! Is all I can say after I ordered today, and it has changed my life. Who says ordering again tomorrow is wrong, not me, I’ll tell you that :D

You can't find another Japanese restaurant provide such delicious food with reasonable price. Im gonna visit this place really often.

This is my go to place in the area, teriyaki bowls are fantastic the pork in particular.
Sushi is very high quality. Cocktails are less than 10 dollars and are made well, nice Japanese and Thai whiskey selection. Also it's never too busy so the service is always excellent.

Loved finding a Japanese place that isn't just sushi. There's a bunch of small plates to share including a bunch of skewers. Great variety of sake. Also this place has the largest selection of japanese whiskey I've seen in the area. Bar area was great!

It was surprisingly good. I tried their fried softshell crab, their octopus dish, the seaweed salad, a poke bowl, and their fried ice cream. I thought it was all really good. The poke bowl had a lot more lettuce than I was expecting- it kind of felt more like a salad than anything else. That's my only complaint.

This place is outstanding!

Fish is always fresh, and with good size portions.
The tapas are more of a finger food and with the price.
Seriously, can't say enough about this little Malden gem.

Super tasty awesome service decent menu for vegetarians and vegans. Cozy spot for date night, groups, or catching up with friends. Highly recommended. Get the king mushroom yakitori, mushroom medley, avocado roll and veggie tempura! They're awesome. Many creative items like the deviled eggs too. Extensive list of alcohol beverages too. There's customer parking, bathroom, but no wifi.

Sousaku Bistro is a hidden gem of a restaurant in Malden. The sushi and sashimi is always fresh. My go-to is the pork broth soup with pork belly and ramen. The pork buns are really juicy and the shrimp toast is my favorite app on the menu. The staff is super attentive they give great service. Whenever I went in with my young daughter, they would be accommodating about putting us in a booth and giving her a plastic cup with a straw so she'd make less of a mess. Definitely visit this restaurant if you can.

This place really exceeded our expectations! We had the pork kimchi stirfry, pork buns, spicy tuna maki, and crab croquette. All of these dishes were delicious, especially the maki. The small portion sizes made it easy to try a bunch of different things.

Really, really delicious. Everything is great, so much variety and everything is support high quality. Surprising and varied whiskey selection too, and the best complimentary iced green tea..

The pork cutlet curry here tastes exactly like the ones I had while visiting Tokyo and Osaka. If you're looking for some authentic pork cutlet curry this is the place to go. I have not yet tried any of the other dishes.

Been here countless times over the time that this place has been open and well the staff, food, and drinks here have never disappointed me! Always a great time. Aiden is the man! Always there with a smile on his face. Great environment and good people to talk with. Strongly recommend going here.

Realy Nice place, good food, great staff. May be a little dark to eat inside the restaurant trough the day, but it's worth, their combos at the lunch time ar really affordable, the place is empty at midday but the order is feast, perfect for anyone working in the area , good variety of plates.

Awesome place. Sushi was very good, Sushi Pizza was something I've never tried before and I will deffinitely repeat! It was just great! Good choice of drinks. Staff was very nice! Deffinitely reccommend!

Don't let the fishy smell get to you when you first walk in. That is from the fish tanks they have with fresh fish you can buy. Service was great and food was excellent. A bit pricey, but makes a nice impression.

One of the few Japanese place in the area that's open till late. It's a little on the pricey side, but Sousaku makes up for it by offering many Japanese food you don't find around Boston. Though I must say I miss the Taiwanese brunch they used to offer.
