Paani Indian Cuisine

I first met Vimi Verma the owner of #Paani Indian restaurant in Sudbury in 2012 once we moved to Sudbury.
The food was always good but what I remembered was the kindness with which she treated my daughter Pranavi Martinez when she went to work at Paani as a teenager.
Pranavi would come home with some delicious dish, that we enjoyed.

While we were away in Atlanta Gautam ordered some food from Paani out of curiosity and told us to try it.

Ajit and I have never been able to find good Biryani having tried several restaurants, so that's what I ordered..some goat biryani, then later chicken biryani. Both were so exceptional, they tasted as good the next day.
Last night we decided to visit the new location, a much bigger restaurant now opposite Whole Foods in Sudbury.

Both Ajit and I were blown away by the quality of food.

The pea pulao filled with savory nuts was something so outstanding, Ajit who isn't much into rice took a second helping.
It's a dish by itself. Especially since we are finding poorly cooked or poor quality rice in most restaurants these days.
Every dish we ordered was mouth watering and cooked to perfection.

I left a note for Vimi. Even though it's been over a decade when we first met, I haven't been to Paani much.

I'm glad we have one more restaurant in Sudbury that we can endorse. And visit. Worth every cent.

This review is from my first visit to Paani since they moved from their old location. We had the lunch buffet on a Sunday. The selection of foods was good, not overwhelming. The quality of the food was very good. There were quite a few vegetarian options. The staff was pleasant and polite. The place wasn't terribly crowded and I felt relatively safe with the number of Covid cases increasing. I always overeat when there's a buffet so next time we'll visit for dinner.

Went with my sister and her husband with my three young nieces. Best Indian I’ve had in years. The chicken makhni was the best I’ve ever had. Everything we ordered was perfect. Will be coming here every time I come back to visit my sister.

Visited early in the day on a weekend.
Outdoor dining was very well laid out and a lot of tables with plenty of space for distancing. Service was attentive and patient with us. Food portions were outstanding with a "to go" bag we had 2 big extra meals the next day. Quality was excellent with well balanced flavors. This was our first time at this place and it is definitely on the repeat list ! Value for the money is also excellent , especially in consideration of the portion size.

The Sunday buffet is delightful. I only wish my stomach would hold more. Its a lovely room filled with natural light and decorated with style. Overall a lovely dining experience and we will be back many times.

Finally one good restaurant in Massachusetts which can get closest to what we get in India. Incredible food. Definitely try their garlic naan it is amazing. I didn’t get any pictures because I was too busy devouring the deliciousness

Paani is a Sudbury tradition that has become a hidden gem. In my opinion it's the best Indian food in the area. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the ambiance is comfortable, the location is convenient and the food is excellent. The menu includes traditional standards as well as interesting twists from the house kitchen.

Paani is consistently good, the best Indian restaurant in MetroWest. We do take-out from them quite often, the food is always fresh, ready on-time, and completly enjoyable.
Would highly recommend to any who enjoy a good Indian meal.

Absolutely delicious. The food is a little pricey, but they really take great care of their dishes. Many are rather mild, which is good for my family that doesn't like really spicy things. The naan with figs is amazing. The railway mutton curry was surprisingly delicious. Prawns are a must.

We sat outside and had a great dinner! Great apps, every dish was yummy. My favorite was the chicken vindaloo (we had it medium, spicy but not over the top). I'll definitely go back.

Excellent lunch buffet. Over a dozen dishes; all cooked really well. Naan was especially good.

My son and I found this place after shopping in Framingham and it was a wonderful experience. We will be back!! Delicious food and definitely the best naan we have ever had.

I had the buffet lunch with my partner here. We both thought the food was quite good. Service was friendly. The variety was nice.

Excellent food. Most of the food is gluten free and so this makes this an a a good choice for Celiac's and gluten intolerant diners. Since the recipes are not altered to be gluten free, diners can enjoy the intended flavors. Staff are great at explaining options, food prep and ingredients. This is a local favorite. Have only been there once, this past week. But the buffet was great for this special event. My close, 25 plus year old college friend hosted a comedy show from the restaurant with the buffet and it was all fantastic!

Delicous Tikka Masala and Lamb Korma. I also loved garlic Naan.
the service was fast, employees were kind, restaurant was clean and decoration was beutiful. Their mild spicy was medium for me.
bottom line; you should give it a try.

I came here for dinner with my husband and toddler assuming we could sit on the patio because it was 70s out. The waiter told me the patio hadn't opened for the season yet, and I was so disappointed. After he saw my husband and daughter waiting outside for me he said they could open the patio after all! It was so kind of them and they were so friendly and accommodating! Their naan is delicious as are their samosas and the butter chicken. Their patio is so relaxing and calm, and I was so happy to have a nice evening out with great food! High recommend!

We went to dinner for a friend's birthday last Monday. We were greeted by the most incredibly delicious aroma when we walked in. We were seated by the back of the restaurant near a prep area, but this is not as bad as it sounds because the wrap-around tall glass windows makes it airy & well lit & the ambient restaurant sounds masked at sounds at the tiny prep area. Honestly, nearly everything I ate that night was THE BEST! The 3 small-sized veggie samosas? THE BEST! Why? Cut them open and smell the freshest herbs! The proportion of herbs to potato is better than when they are larger. The standard mint sauce you get with meals? THE BEST! I'd never smelled nor tasted a mint sauce as delicious as this, and I've been eating at Indian restaurants for 3 decades now. Also, their mango lassi was THE BEST because it had the right balance between sweet and tangy. Stuffed Kashmiri bread went amazing with their chicken korma. So good!! You can ask for papadums and they will serve them, even though they are not on the menu. And finally, I want to give a shout out to the two gentlemen who served us - THE BEST! Our main waiter was attentive, friendly, and funny. We had a great rapport with him that evening. The assistant waiter saw how much we loved Indian food and shared some information with us on Indian folklore. I just love it when restaurant staff do things like this because it enhances your typical dining experience. And when we left, I noticed a large Indian family eating late night dinner together. I think it says a lot about a place's food when you have people of the same ethnicity eating in that restaurant, like a subtle thumbs up that makes you feel really good about deciding to eat there.

We are a family with kids which love home- and international-food. This one is one of our favorite indian-restaurants. While I am not an expert in any of the different indian-food styles I really like the flavors and food quality. It is easy to go with our kids (1 and 6) which it is a plus.
