Dollar Car Rental - Washington Dc - Reagan National Airport

I used an express deal on Priceline to get my rental, so I had no clue what company it would be through. When it said Dollar and after seeing all the negative reviews, I was nervous. We were picking up the rental on New years day at the airport, as nothing else was open. It honestly couldn't have gone more smoothly than it did. There was no wait at all, I got in my rental without any issues. Return was just as smooth and they were even understanding of me being a few minutes late thanks to the horrible traffic. I had the rental for 2 days and would absolutely use Dollar again in the future. The only complaint is when I dropped it off I was told my receipt would be emailed to me and it never was. I was able to look it up online, so it all worked out ok.

I booked through Priceline and was EXTREMELY apprehensive about the potential experience with Dollar given the flurry of 1 star reviews. It could be that other customers did not pre-book, they arrived at exceptionally busy times and/or were all waiting for compact cars. There was no one else in line when I arrived. I walked up to the counter, provided my confirmation number, ID, credit card and waltzed out to the parking garage to retrieve my rental. It was brand new, low miles clean, and full tank of gas.

Rented my vehicle online. On pick- up, the guy asked about surance but I had purchased theirs online as well. I hadn't rented a car in over twenty years, and it was dark out when I went to get it. After speaking with the attendant downstairs, I went to look for the rental car to pick up, not sure which one was my rental, I went back to the guy when another attendant pulled up in front of us. He was about to park a return vehicle that had just been washed, and asked if I wanted that one. I said sure, I'll take that one. No problems, except, I did not do a vehicle check, highly recommended.

Honestly, a really good experience! I certainly do understand that how people could be frustrated with the few agents that were there, but I didn’t have any issues. The agent (Z) who helped me was wonderful and even gave me some tips on the car I had rented. 10/10 experience all around. I would say that some of the reviewers should really exercise a little patience. DCA is a super busy airport and each agent was really working as quickly as possible.

I don't understand the bad reviews about long waits. We were in and out when were there last week. Their process for pick up is quite simple. Once you do your paperwork, you just go to the parking garage and the attendant will direct you to the area where you can pick a car from, based on what you paid for. My husband was over the moon to find a red car, something he has always wanted. The car itself was practically new and ran great. Drop off was even easier than pick up. You just leave it in the garage with one of the attendants and you are done.

Staff exceeded my expectations. The process did not take long nor did it take long to get the car. The DCA rental service does a wonderful job during the final check out of the vehicle. Returning the vehicle is even a quicker process than checking out. If you are seeking great service with people that are truly compassionate and dedicated to assisting you, then Dollar is the place to go. I was able to select my vehicle, which was clean and did not smell of smoke. The only thing they can work on, is cleaning the windows better, but that is minor to the overall wonderful experience.

Pretty decent experience. The staff was very friendly and understanding. The car I rented had a dent that I didn't notice until the next day. I called and explained and they said not to worry about it. Car return was pretty easy, and I only had to wait a few minutes for the shuttle.

I was worried by the reviews, but the line went quickly. I had no problems and Dollar is very affordable. I did pickup on a Thursday night, so maybe the line is worse other days.

I believe the toughest part was waiting at the airport in the cold for the shuttle bus. After that everything went fairly smooth. The rep at the counter was friendly and got me into a car quickly. The guys who met me at the car when I was retuning it, were patient, helpful and friendly and the guy who drove my returning shuttle was very informative and helpful.

The car was nice and clean inside and out and it drove well for me during my trip.

Recently rented a compact SUV from Dollar. I must say everything went off without a hitch. I've read other reviews, giving Dollar rental poor reviews. Fortunately for me, the online process was smooth. The line at the counter was less than 5 minutes, it being a friday night. The reps at the counter had my information, everything matched. No problems at all.
The vehicle was a 2016 model, clean, and barely driven. My deposit was held, and issued right back to me when I dropped off the vehicle. I received an email with my reciept. I can't say a negative thing about these guys. Will definitely rent again from here.

I gave them a shot due to very low price despite the bad reviews here, no issues what so ever. I was prepared for the worst.

Given a brand new car, fully loaded and satellite radio service, with full tank of gas and was charged the exact amount quoted online.
Returned the car clean (inside) with full tank plus 1300 miles in two days. No questions asked, no extra charges.

Would do business again without hesitation.

I live in S Arlington - so taking the bus to this rental lot Saturday morning for an 8 am pick-up was a snap! I needed a rental to drive to my high school reunion in the Blacksburg area since my car was in the shop. I reserved an economy car a week in advance for 26 hours. I was astounded and 100% pleased by the courteous counter staff, the courteous lot staff, and the courteous check-out staff. I was given a Nissan Versa that was immaculately clean inside and out and ready-to-rumble with a filled tank! When I returned the car an hour earlier than planned on Sunday morning - I was charged less that the 26-hour charge! The check-in process was as smooth was the check-out process! My trip ended up costing me about $1.05 an hour! I cannot speak high enough for the absolute red carpet treatment that I received from this company!

I got off my flight and they have a shuttle running every 7 mins for the 3 min ride to the store. Very helpful people. Gave me a better car than booked at no charge, No extra fees. My card has insurance on the car and they did not argue with me. Very smooth. I was on the road in 15 mins after I landed, Dropped it off and was thanked for the business. No extra charges. Done. Shuttle drivers handled my luggage. Was a class A experience for me and I will use them again.

The cat was nice clean and ran well. The customer service was great. I wad pleasantly surprised when they said they were driving me to the airport. Not having to wait for the shuttle was great. There was only one thing that I wish they had told me and that was that the car only had a 10 gallon gas tank.

My experience was great! I have to admit that I was very hesitant to rent from this location/company because of the bad reviews I saw here. This is why I made it a point to write this review! I was traveling alone from Orlando with my toddler son who has Autism, so waiting for long periods of time and crowds are not good for us. I have to say that I had a good experience, the staff was friendly, I arrived at the airport and only waited like 5-7 min at the bus terminal for he shuttle to pick us up, the driver was friendly and helped me load my luggage in the bus. When I got to the location I saw a lot of people but I was in and out in less that 30 min. No one pushed me to get any "additional stuff" on my rental and at check out I was charged exactly what was quoted when I made my reservation online. HAPPY CUSTOMER!!! =)

Having booked our rental through a third party we hadn't specifically checked reviews for Dollar so when the scathing reviews appeared when searching for the address I was pretty concerned. For us the entire process was faultless (I've rented vehicles for both business and pleasure and this was probably the best experience I've had). There were no pushy sales tactics, the specific car we had requested (Mustang Convertible) was ready waiting when we arrived and we were on our way within 15 mins (it was quiet at the time which probably helped). It was extremely busy when we retuned the car but we were booked back in and ready to go within 2 mins and even before we'd unloaded! We'd filled up locally to avoid the refuelling charge (there is a petrol station around 100 metres up the street) and there was no issues at all when returning. The site is a little way from the airport which may be a problem/delay for some (we were already in DC and got a lift from a friend and struggled a little to find the right location).

A lot of people complain about car rental agencies, but my experience with Dollar was just fine. Did a one way rental from Charlotte to DC and had no issues at all. I'd rent from them again.
