Contemporary spin on traditional Sichuan fare in an intimate vibe.

My friends and I came here on a late Sunday evening and were surprised to find the place still buzzing with energy. Since we didn’t have a reservation, we weren't lucky enough to grab an indoor table, but the patio was just as charming an alternative.

Blossom Bar’s take on elevated Chinese food is slightly different from places like Jiangnan. While I do prefer the latter, Blossom’s interpretation was also appreciable. They cleverly retained the core elements of Sichuan flavors - the aromatic spices, the fiery heat, and the rich umami notes. However, they present them in a more polished manner, making it a great companion for a wine or cocktail evening.

With enticing photos of their specials featured on top of their menu, we found ourselves ordering three out of the four special dishes, accompanied by a side of Dan Dan noodles. The crispy fish fillet was our favorite, with its delicate crunch complemented by a subtle burst of chili and scallion aromatics. The slow-braised duck breast was another highlight; its savory richness was beautifully offset by the tartness of the pickled veggies. The only slight miss for us was the Dong Po ribs – a tad too fiery even for our palates, but the noodle’s mellow flavors balanced things out.

While it's evident that Blossom Bar's offerings are crafted with a drink-pairing evening in mind, their dishes stand strong on their own merit. If you're in the mood for a sophisticated take on Chinese cuisine, set against a cozy, intimate backdrop, then this place is a must-visit.

It's hard to decide whether the true star of Blossom Bar is the food, the drinks, or the friendly staff. The drinks were some of the best I've had in a long time, and I've never been more excited to eat leftovers. The bartender was friendly and attentive, and seemed to have a wonderful rapport with the regulars. The Duan's Whip was one of the best cocktails I've ever had, and the eggplant with spicy garlic sauce was phenomenal.

Come for the city-famous cocktails, stay for the amazing food that’s gonna surprise you!
First heard of it when my partner got invited here by his Sichuan friend to try “real sichuan” food. Finally got to go with a bunch of friends and we loved it!
Amazing Dan-Dan noodles, super tasty popcorn chicken, and fantastic creamy eggplant, but the fish with pickled mustard leaves was the standout - never have I tried a dish with that flavor and it blew our entire crew away.
The cocktails are also super worthy of trying - and include some surprising flavors like sesame oil. I recommend to be adventurous when ordering - you shouldn’t be surprised!
Only two gripes I have - it’s super loud inside and simple decor lacks a bit of atmosphere. It’s elegant, but very simple. And our host was not the greatest as she seemed really busy. Otherwise - one of fave spots in Boston area!

Found myself in a nearby hotel for business and discovered this great place down the road. 5 star all the way. Jen the bartender is awesome and very cool. She is also the manager and one of the people working for her, Greg, said she is the best to work for. The food is Asian and I found it as good as NY China town restaurants. I came two days in a row and had Salt and Pepper meals both times. First day Scallops and Shrimp, the second day the Fish. Both times delicious with a bit if chili sauce I asked for. I had gin martini’s stirred and they were spot on! Gotta head back back one day with my wife to show her this cool spot!

Awesome experience. The food was great. We had the dan dan noodles, braised duck, fish with pickled mustard greens and house fried rice. They were all solid. The portions were generous and the spice level was pefect. The drinks were fantastic too, some of the best we’ve had in Boston. I had the Tito Puente and it was the perfect blend of rye and smokiness from toasted coconut and a bit of spice. My wife had the Duan’s Whip. Presentation was great and taste was very good, nice blend of tartness and sweetness.

This place was absolutely packed on a Tuesday night! We loved our server and our food — the dry hot chicken has a numbing heat to it, so I didn’t love it, but it was nice and crispy. The large white rice was HUGE. The scallion pancakes were a highlight, too. The main entrees cost about $20 and are good for sharing and each appetizer was about $9. The chili oil dumplings were also awesome. Overall, loved the cozy vibe. There’s no parking lot but there is metered street parking nearby. We would totally come back!

Shoutout to Cameron for fantastic service! As always delicious food and cocktails. 10/10 spot for dinner or drinks.

Definitely start your meal w the dumplings, the dough is fantastic. And sesame oil in the cocktails is just such a great move 👌

The drinks, the food, the vibes are so good. I asked for their take on a gin martini and was not disappointed. The scallop and shrimp dish didn't stand out on a menu full of incredible food, but the green beans, Sichuan chicken, and pork dumplings with chili were huge crowd pleasers.

Just the best!! My favorite place in the area by far I go here all the time. Food and drinks are amazing if you can handle szechuan spice i suggest the chicken prosperity noodles, fish filets (or shrimp and scallops), dan dan noodles, chili dumplings, house eggplant, spicy cucumber. It’s truly the best and the staff are fun and ambiance is great.

This is a great place for authentic Sichuan food in Boston, although there can be more food options on the menu. Some people may complain about their price. However, with such a good environment and service, I don't think they are that expensive. Considering the effect of inflation, I have seen restaurants in Chinatown serving a plate of vegetables that you might have to pay more than 21 USD. Plus, some of these restaurants do not have the good environment and service like the Blossom Bar at Sichuan Garden (And remember, eating out in Boston is never cheap). Make sure to tell your server about the spicy level you can handle. Also, if you go there (and you are 21 years old or above), be sure to try their signature drink "Father's advice," which is not on the drink menu.

I don't know how I stumbled upon this place before visiting Boston, but I'm so glad I did. The cocktails exceeded my expectations and I would compare it to some of the top cocktail bars in NY. I kept going for the Mote and it was incredibly refreshing but loved almost everything on the drinks menu. Food was top notch Sichuan cuisine, probably some of the best I've ever had. Much of the menu has a decent amount of spice. Pork dumplings were spectacular. I tried the Sesame chicken as well and after chewing the crispy outer skin, I was pleasantly surprised by the tender chicken inside. Well worth the trip outside Boston to drink/eat here! Would definitely return!

Sat on the patio of Blossom Bar. I ordered the special for August drink (pictured below.) It was a sweet drink with passion fruit mix. We ordered the pork dumplings, orange chicken and house fried rice. Make sure to make a reservation after 6pm on Saturday. It gets busy and has limited seating inside.

Blossom bar is such a great dining and drinking experience - strongly recommend to anyone who lives in the Boston area if you are looking for good Chinese food and creative cocktails.

I’ve been twice , and each time I was impressed!

For food, I’ve eaten there once and tried a variety of things - all of which didn’t disappoint. We started with Dan Dan noodles and the dumplings, and shared the garlic eggplant and the dry chengdu chicken with a side of rice. The only thing I would change is maybe the chicken , wouldn’t mind trying the Sichuan but still really good and a good heat level also. The Dan Dan and eggplant were divine as were the dumplings.

For cocktails - I’ve tried so many and they’re all so good. The Duan Whip with dole whip was reaaally good, excellent drink to end with as it’s a bit sweeter but not overwhelmingly so. I have also gotten the bocadillo sour, the broken Spanish (which has crushed grasshopper on the rim 😶), the vivir soñando (which isn’t on the menu but if you request it they will make it for you - it’s aperol creamsicle drink basically), and of course the Gloria (placed 16th best Bacardi drink in the world in 2019 and best in US east!). None of these drinks disappoint, trust the descriptions you will love them all.

Nice servers and decent atmosphere but the food and drink take it away! Follow me on ig @sophiaeaaats for more recs!

Amazing Szechuan food in Brookline!

The ambiance is incredible, the food is great, the drinks are EVEN better.

Ma po tofu was just delicious. The eggplant in garlic sauce is always one of my favorite dishes. The Dan Dan noodles were actually just okay.

The drinks, the Duan Whip is such a fun dessert drink! Also just fyi on the Broken Spanish, beware the rim of the glass is crushed insects - if you're vegetarian, obviously not great. That being said a fantastic drink

I have nothing but amazing things to say. We were greeted by a kind, no nonsense host (my kind of host). After a short wait we had seats at the bar. Our bartender was the real deal. They made my friend a specialty drink (she has very particular taste specifications) that was so nuanced and beautiful it took my breath away and had the most perfect sparkling feel with a soft hint of coconut finish. Despite the busy night, and our at times intense conversation, our bartender kept up with us and gave us perfect, polished, patient service. Seriously I would hire this person at my bar any day. Thank you for your service, amazing bartender whose name I didn't get. The food came quickly and was exactly as delicious as Baldwin Bar's Sichuan Garden menu, just with a little less flair and a little more casual, which was fine by me. The bar got very lively towards the end of our stay and that was really good to see on a Wednesday night in Brookline. After some really disappointing dining experiences lately, this was a wonderful one that I don't have a single bad thing to say about.

If you ever get a chance to go to any of Ran's places, don't pass it up. He and his staff are the ideal that we should all strive for in this industry.

Sat at the bar and the barkeep was incredible. Had the Broken Spanish cocktail - fabulous. Had the house Lo Mein. Very yummy, but I wish it had more veggies - green onions, tiny slivers of carrot and a few bamboo shoots don’t count as far as I am concerned.
