Great lunch place with reasonable price. Recommend for weekday lunch options if you are nearby. Tasty steak and pork katsu lunchbox. The most fancy pick up experience in Newtown.

The food was very good. The sushi tasted so fresh. The ambiance is decent. We made a reservation but it was not needed. There was no line. We went on a Monday. We read about servers being very kind and courteous. Although we didn’t get that kind of treatment until half the time we were there. There were not many servers present too. We might not be dining there again but will get some food for takeout.

Thank you New Ginza for preparing the best birthday sushi boat ever! It was beautiful and delicious, and I was happy to share this with my friends!

New Ginza is a true polished diamond, I have experienced few favorite-worthy restaurants like it.

Menu items are delicious, from Chinese American and Japanese (gyoza, shumai) to the real gem dishes: the sushi. All of it. Everything is super clean and fresh, always, and beautifully done, with smoothly delivered service from every server.

Go. Here.

I usually post my first impression.

It seems fair. One chance to impress me. Will I come back? Or will I feel robbed?

I waited until the fifth time I returned here to write this. Just to see if they would break the streak of pure excellence!

Which they did not.

I ordered sushi to go here first. The largest boat they had. We were hungry. And I was impressed with the quality, and value for money I walked away with.

Then I came back to just eat and drink at the bar. I was pleased with the drink selection and the teriyaki.

Took out sushi again. Just as pleased.

Came and ate the dragon Maki. It was superb. Shocking in its flavor and texture. Just... the fish mixed with the mushrooms. Pure umami explosion.

Then the next time I ordered the sukiyaki. The thing in the picture.

I don't know if I'm genetically predisposed to love this or something, but the first time I ordered this, two different servers came to check on me because I was crying. It was that good. I was literally in tears.

I can't think of a better compliment. I've brought back friends, and have visited 3 more times just to eat it alone.

Also, the place is decorated by someone with genuine taste. Dark stone and leather, bright wood, and zen paper craft motifs.

This place is a gem, and if you haven't eaten here, you are robbing yourself of life changing satisfaction.

It really was the best spicy tuna I’ve ever had! It’s a little far from where I live but I will definitely drive for this sushi.

Best experience, best food!
The Sunset Roll at New Ginza in Watertown is a delightful culinary experience. Its vibrant colors, expertly rolled ingredients, and harmonious flavors make it a must-try sushi roll. The combination of fresh seafood, creamy avocado, and a hint of tangy sauce creates a truly irresistible taste. Don't miss the chance to indulge in this remarkable creation at New Ginza.

I took my dear friend Alla to dinner. She promised me the New Ginza would have great food. Honestly, it was the best Japanese food I ever had! We ordered Avocado salad, volcano Maki, with a fabulous shitaKe mushroom topping and scorpion maki. Fresh food with a wonderful mix of spices. Can't wait to return next time I am in Boston.

I went here for my birthday with friends, and made a reservation however it wasn't really needed as the place at the time wasn't so busy. The place is beautiful and its relatively quiet! As the food, oh my goodness, the food is so great! I just didn't know the portions would be so huge for me and my friends, and regrettably had some leftovers behind. I really recommend the chirashi bowl if you love to eat some raw fish with rice along with other assortments. My friends also loved the food here. The service was also good, as the waiter was patient with us. Would come again.

New Ginza holds a strong place in our hearts. Many years ago, my (now) wife and I were dating and came across New Ginza as a fun date option. We sat in a booth and it took me 45 minutes! to order because it was my first sushi experience. I had lots of questions. My wife patiently answered my questions and the staff backed her up admirably. The GM at the time came and made us feel like we were already family and kept us happy and laughing through the meal.

When the food came... it was beautiful. Each dish or roll was artfully constructed both in balanced flavor and even color. We shared an Alligator Roll and I think my brain chemistry changed. It's the only way that I can describe it. After this experience that night, we came back 4 more times that same week. 5 visits in one week!

People over the age of 40, like us, remember that Cheers in Boston was the place where people were supposed to feel at home. For us, our Cheers was New Ginza. We ate there regularly for YEARS, and look forward to our visits when we're in town again. The GM remembered our names and would never make us wait.

Keep it up team! You set the bar for high quality food and service.

A friend recommended this place, assuring me I wouldn't regret it, so I decided to check it out on New Year's. The fish is really fresh and the servers are very attentive and added to the positive experience. After our meal, they surprised us with free desserts, and when we expressed our appreciation, they even brought us an extra free plate! Definitely considering a return visit!

This is by far our family's favorite restaurant in Boston. We've eaten here regularly for several years and the sushi is always impeccable, everything on the menu is delicious, and the wait staff is so nice (Gina is the best!). My son even includes the gyoza from New Ginza in his school drawings about his favorite things. We love this place!

I really like this place! Very nice food! I live in the apartments right next to it and this is becoming my go to place for takeout or dine in. Love the sushi and the fried ice cream! Miso soup is on point! Katsu comes with a very nice assorted veggie stir fry... Check out the pictures. Well cooked... Full of subtle but good flavor!
