Markey's Bar

I love living just down the street from this cute little bar, the people are always so nice and the drinks are a great price! Not to mention the most stellar days ever when you see someone cooking outside and get to stop in for a bite!

Fun dive bar, serves great drinks and the best crawfish boil in New Orleans! Fast, great service and a laid back atmophere. Loved it, will be a regular spot.

Came into visit the Bywater area. Went to Markey’s as it was close to the house we rented.
Jordan, what a perfect bartender and great person to convers with. We ended up drinking them outta Jack Daniels that Wednesday night. Came back Thursday, no Jack due to supply line issue. I gave Roy, the owner, a little grief about not having Jack. Little while later, as we sat outside, the bartender on duty walked out with a Jack for me. Told me Roy was able to talk his distributor into a bottle. THAT is customer service.

We got in on a late flight to New Orleans, and this place was our introduction to the city. It was perfect. Stiff drinks, fresh po boys, and friendly staff. We’ll come back when we come back someday!

Chill sports bar. Multiple tv screens. Local folks. No frills. Reminds you of a simpler time. Just the way it should be.

Bustling neighborhood bar on NFL Sundays.
Otherwise, good neighborhood watering hole. A mix of regulars and visitors.

One of our favorite local watering holes. Good food and great drinks. Plenty of tvs for watching the big game and they even have a few bar games for customer use.

Great old neighborhood bar that's been in the area for over 70 years. Friendly, attentive bartenders who'll remember you, and great music on the sound system. I couldn't put together a better Pandora mix. Food, shuffleboard, any game you want to watch...this place caters to a surprisingly wide variety of patrons. Highly recommended.

I visit this place every time I’m in New Orleans. This is, to me, the epitome of a dive bar. I enjoy the beer selection and the food as well (reading the other reviews it seems they don’t serve food anymore though). I’m headed to NoLa next week and I can’t wait to go to Markeys and have a Pimms cup.

Our go to place for sports watching as they play the games with the volume on. No food so you get to bring in whatever you want to eat which is fine by me. People are friendly, lots of TVs darts, etc. Perfect.

Great neighborhood bar! Watch sports on the many TV sets, eat good pizza and have a drink in a relaxed atmosphere. Numerous beers on tap and more in a bottle. All at a fair price.

Markey’s Bar is the second oldest family run bar in New Orleans! A landmark in the Bywater Roy Markey has continued the tradition of three generations making this a must do in New Orleans! Raise a pint of Guinness and enjoy the local crowds

One of the all-time great neighborhood bars. Inexpensive drinks. No rotgut liquors here. Friendly staff, good food. Great crawfish when available. Owner is a terrific person.

My new favorite place to watch the Saints game. The owner was very accommodating and super nice guy. Bartenders were a bit slow especially during high demand times

Very robust beer selection on tap. The bar tender was awesome. They have a juke box with a very eclectic list of music. Great ambiance the best rosemary and garlic aioli sauce ever (must try this). Definitely worth five stars for providing the New Orleans vibe. Plus everything is super affordable.

An old gem that my dad used to frequent, so I gave it a shot while waiting for a wrestling tourney to end. What a nice surprise and the service was not lacking either. Well maintained and good bar food. Wished I could have taken the high schoolers in
