Sal's Barbershop

I've only had good experiences at Sal's since I moved to JP about a year ago. My hair is really hard to cut well and I've only had a few barbers before who could deal with it. I barely had to explain anything in depth here and still walk out every time with the right cut. Prices are extremely good, but you won't regret leaving that extra tip and coming back again and again.

Best haircut in the city. True professionals. Skip the salon, these people know what they're doing and have made me look great since 2018.

I have been coming for years and had my hair cut by every barber there. Never once have I felt rushed, and I am always asked what I would like, how short, what if any product I use, etc. I have liked some cuts better than others, but I have always felt welcome to ask for a re-do; either then or a few days later. Finally, every barber there has greeted me warmly, acted with respect and genuine appreciation for my business, and made sure I was pleased before I left. I consider them among the best neighbors and most valuable local business.

These guys are great! Cash only, but super reasonable pricing for an excellent haircut every time. They even finish it with a straight razor shave in the back!

I love Sal's Barbershop. I've been going Izzy for little over 20 years and he is the best Barber I've ever had. He's very professional and always glad to see me. The shop is always clean and the other Barbers are also very nice. I was happy to see that they are back opened up. My hair was out of control during the quarantine. He did a fantastic job as always. Very nice traditional barber shop which many men go to for decades. Good haircuts at outstanding rates for Boston. You are taken in arrival order, or you can wait for your favorite barber (no appointments, ordinarily)

Excellent quality, efficiency, atmosphere, and value. I wasn’t sure if I’d feel comfortable in a barber shop as a lady, but the barber was extremely welcoming and did a great job with short my hair style. Highly recommended!

I used to get my haircut at one of the pricier barber shops in the south end of Boston. After tip I would usually pay upwards of $45. Although they gave a great haircut, I will never go back after discovering Sal's in Jamaica Plain. I usually go on Fridays and have seen the same 3 barbers there each time. I have had my haircut by all 3 and have never been disappointed. Not only do you get a great cut, but you get amazing customer service all for under $20.

As a 24-year-old young guy, it can be hard to find a nice, stylish haircut at a place that's not too busy or $40 in the city. Izzy gave a fresh nice, short crew cut that instantly got me compliments. It only took 10 minutes too and he had a nice friendly personality. I will be back many more times!!

I have been going here since I was a kid. Friendly, professional, efficient, and they care about the community.

On multiple occasions I have seen someone that didn't know they were cash only and tried to leave a card/ID/etc as collateral while they hit the ATM. The guys at Sal's told them they didn't need collateral just come back and pay once they get the cash. Because they trust their community and see the good in people.

Great old school neighborhood barber atmosphere. The guys that work here are such a pleasure. They're quick, precise, and pay great attention to detail. They're also really good with kids!

Best local place to get a haircut! I'm always nervous before going to a new place for the first time, but after comparing all the different barbershops in the area, I decided to listen to the reviews and go to Sal's - and I wasn't disappointed. Friendly people, I didn't have to wait, he got it done quickly, and the price was better than I had hoped for. Definitely recommend it!

I came in looking like a long lost metal loving band member! Izzi transformed me into a respectable, fun loving resident of JP!! All this is in under an hour at a great price!! My go-to from now on!

My new, exclusive spot to get my hair cut. I have had seldom good hair days in my life, and these guys make it happen every time I get a cut. I don't give them much to work with in terms of hair genes, but I always end up with an outstanding cut. Priced very well for the cut you get, at a no-frills service with traditional barbershop practices.
TLDR; Sal's in JP is wicked quality - 10/10

After a few months of depression. I came here for a haircut. Still depressed but now I look good Really good actually. A lot of care went into my haircut. I recommend. You’ll feel better. Welcoming and kind staff !
