Such a great diner style vibe. Larry was working the kitchen and also ended up ringing me up, was such a treat to chat with him.

Omelette especially hit the spot. Visiting from Texas and I had a packed schedule and was able to get in, enjoy a meal, and finish the rest of my day fueled up.

I went with my friends for brunch and we were impressed. Food was quickly prepared and perfectly done. Prices were astoundingly affordable, about $11 per plate. My scramble had a very generous serving of meat alongside the perfect hash browns and some buttery toast. Meanwhile, the fruit waffles looked and tasted amazing! I recommend going when you want a good simple diner meal.

Great, classic, affordable diner food in the Mission. Came here on a weekday and it was pretty dark and dingy inside but the owner and staff were super friendly and kind. Enjoyed the food and service. Not too greasy and tasty.

This is a great "no frill" neighborhood staples that cranks out all of the breakfast and lunch staples you can expect. Good food, affordable prices, and an old school atmosphere. This is a mom and pop kind of place and the staff if great.

Al's Place is a step back in time with lots of movie memorabilia, dolls and other assorted ketch to greet you. As for the food, American Traditional is what you'll get. Our group all ordered the Pancake Delight. Delightful it was with a couple of eggs (anyway you like), ham, bacon or sausage and the lightest, fluffiest pancakes ever. The kicker here was the value, twelve bucks for all that food. The quality was excellent, the service extremely friendly and the price was beyond right. Treat yourself right, have a Pancake Delight. I have been coming here since I was a teenager and I'm in my 30s now. Food is delicious and the prices are fair.i love the homage to all the old Hollywood stars. Must try when your in the neighborhood. I love the fish n chips and the French toast is so yummy.

Had the pancake delight - dang it was good. The food was perfectly prepared - nothing fancy but top of the class for classic old school diner food. They don’t make them like these anymore.

One bad note is that the soap is actually Fabuloso and feels quite drying and toxic to the hands; I felt bad giving a bad review just because of that, hoping they'll read this and get real soap (if the issue hasn't been fixed by the time I go there again, unfortunately I'll have to change my rating to 4/5 or lower).

Breakfast is served all day! Yes yes yes please. Bloody Mary’s! Mimosas! Wine! Delicious homemade meals. Yes to it all!! A gem 💎 in the Mission. Gentrification sadly has been killing out neighborhood businesses 💔Please support the OGs and locals.

I went with some family to check out Four Chairs and the wait was so long we decided to skip the line and check out the cafe next door. It was honestly the best choice and I will be returning as often as possible.

The food was well priced and delicious, some of the best hashbrowns of my life! Perfectly crispy without being over the top. Eggs cooked to perfection, including the eggs Benedict. I do think the English muffin could be toasted a little extra but that's my only critique. They also have an in house salsa for their hot sauce, it has the perfect amount of heat, great build.

Final thanks was to the amazing orange juice, very delicious and the entire experience felt nostalgic. Don't wait in line for overpriced food, just come to Al's.

Rare remnant of a bygone age. Flawless classic diner food that won't blow your budget. Favorite spot on a lazy Sunday morning. Try the house-made hot sauce (more of a salsa) goes great with everything. The sausages are also a standout.

A great lunch and breakfast place in Bernal Heights! Soooo much history in this cafe and it’s the coziest place for a Saturday breakfast in the area. And most importantly, you can’t beat the reasonable prices! Highly recommend to check out.

Great breakfasts, had Mexican potatoes and two eggs on top, my wife had pancakes and bacon, Al really freshly prepared and cooked, could not have been better.
