Avenue M

The service was the reason for the 5 stars. Our waitress went above and beyond to take care of us. We had a nut allergy, dairy allergy, vegan and 2 vegetarians in the group (so complicated I know) and our waitress went to double check items and offered work around for items. We really appreciated that she didn’t seem annoyed and was incredibly helpful. One friend got the trout dish and I got the harvest grain salad with the lentil patty (vegan)

We started off with the tuna tartar, then ordered the NC Catfish and Seared Duck breast. All the dishes were delicious. The creamed corn with the catfish was amazing. If I was local I'd come back for the the catfish for sure. We're only used to eating duck roasted Chinese style so the blueberry was a pleasant surprise. The vibe of the restaurant was calm, liked the Edison bulbs and photography on the walls. The server was very attentive without being intrusive.

Always impressed! Phenomenal, attentive service with delicious food and cocktails. I prefer to sit at the bar, but the tables and booths are so spacious! So happy they have vegan options :)

Oh my goodness… this was the BEST food we have ever had. We are having our wedding rehearsal dinner here in October and came to taste a few things. We had the idea we were only going to have apps and we fell in love with food so much we basically ordered two dinners for each of us. I can not express how amazing this place is. Super friendly staff and great atmosphere! 100% recommend for a date night!!!!!!!!!!

The Beet Salad featured goat cheese and spicy pecans, with the titular tubers prepared three ways: roasted, pickled and raw.

The Parisian Gnocchi was of lovely texture; this is a characteristic much appreciated in A-ville, where white rubber balls too often inhabit plates on which actual gnocchi should abide. The dish ate fresh, and managed to be both bright and rich simultaneously.

The manager knew of my recent birthday from my OpenTable profile, and insisted on comping my dessert, a panna cotta highly worthy of consumption. You should converse with him if given the opportunity; he’s a great guy.

I loved the welcoming and relaxing interior, and the restroom emblems were a hoot. Service was perfection.

Tony and Ralph were so very kind and responsive to make our wedding rehearsal dinner a success. From communication and working with the menu to making us feel at ease with last minute details, they were professional and prompt and so very helpful. Jesse and Rachel were our servers for the night and provided exceptional service with a friendly demeanor. Any request we made for adjustments in timing or specific menu alterations were granted with a smile from everyone associated with the business. The food wad wonderful and served family style which worked well.for us. Jesse and Rachel helped with a projector and created attractive stands which matched our decor for the private party. Truly delightful to work with from our initial email to the end of the night cleanup. I highly recommend.

From Dining in to Take Out the food is always delicious and creative. The pasta is so delectable and fresh, and the charcuterie is made in-house and is some of the best you will have in the area. One of my favorite places to visit.

I love Curate. I love Ukiah. Now, there's Avenue M. This place has joined my pantheon of the best places to eat in Asheville.

Our waiter was so incredibly patient and everything he recommended was stellar. The guy working the door was great and kept coming over to check on the dog we had with us and was just a delight. The sommelier even came out to walk us through the wine by the glass options.

For three people this was plenty of food, we practically rolled out of the building.

Protip: If you're worried about hanging on the patio during inclement weather, don't be. The "patio" is fully enclosed, warm, and cozy.

My daughter and I visited Avenue M for the first time last night. The service was amazing! Tony and Jesse made the experience wonderful. We started with the Brussel Sprouts which had just enough spice kick to wake up my taste buds. I had the tortellini and my daughter had a double cheeseburger; both were amazing, the beef on her burger was tender, lean and perfectly cooked. It was a messy burger- "the best kind" she stated.
I think my favorite part was the dessert. the paw-paw dessert- forgive me I don't remember the actual name of it- was an explosion of flavor. Who would ever think of adding black sesame seeds to a dessert? They did and it is to die for! We will be back for sure. Locally owned and well done! thank you for a fun and delicious night!

We were blown away by our experience at Avenue M. The staff were incredibly friendly and made a huge fuss of our dog. The menu was unusual and our choices turned out to be delicious. The wine they recommended was one we hadn’t tasted before and it didn’t disappoint. All the deserts are home made so it was a difficult choice. We finally settled on the Nutella mousse with morello cherries. It was literally scrumptious! We will be dining there again for sure. It was the best meal we had in Asheville this trip. It

The food is delicious and the service is great. Very nice takes on classic Italian dishes. Deserts were very different, well done, presented beautifully, and GOOD!

Hosted a group of 30 for a dinner with a presentation. Tony was beyond accommodating for our group and we had an amazing dinner together. Food, service and price were very good. Recommend using their private event space for your group!

Avenue M is a gem. My husband and I were looking for somewhere to take my parents (who were visiting for the holiday weekend) that we’d never been, that offered farm to table fare. My father raved about the Chai Old Fashioned, my mother enjoyed some white wine, and my husband was excited about the variety of local beers on tap and got one of his favorites, Pernicious. My parents shared the spaghetti squash appetizer, while my husband and I shared the mushroom salad. We also ordered the warm marinated olives for the table. The appetizers knocked it out of the park! Everything was fresh, creative, and absolutely bursting with flavor. For dinner, my parents both ordered the linguini with clams, my husband ordered the cassoulet, and I ordered the mushroom ragu. My parents happily reported that the clams were impeccable and the linguini was cooked perfectly. My husband shared that the pork belly and chicken were juicy and the chicharrones were a fantastic touch. The sauce and beans highlighted these proteins and created a perfect balance in the dish. My mushroom ragu was incredibly savory and created a warm, hearty, winter meal. The only thing that could have made this amazing meal better would have been some crusty bread for the table so we could soak up all of the delicious sauces and enjoy them some more once our plates were devoured! For dessert, my husband and mother both ordered the bread pudding, my father had the cappuccino ice cream, and I enjoyed the citrus sorbet. Desserts were tasty and the perfect way to cap off a wonderful meal. Of note as well was our sweet and engaging server, Mary, who was truly a delight. We will absolutely be back to Avenue M again in the future and plan to recommend it highly to our Airbnb guests.

After booking randomly on OpenTable for a family trip to Asheville, we had such a personal and unforgettable experience. I cannot speak highly enough of our server, Mike, and Ralph, one of the owners. I was worried about being on the patio on a cold night but it is basically inside and there’s a massive “rotisserie” heater. We all have vastly different food preferences but we’re all super satisfied and I had the best scallops of my life. I literally just got back to the hotel from the restaurant but we’re all so excited about and thankful for our experience, how beautiful the restaurant was, how much time they spent with us that I have to write this now. Book a table at Avenue M!

What a fantastic meal! The cocktails were great (corpse reviver #2, yay!), and the Brussels sprouts are the best in town. Ralph L. chose the wine for us, and we were so impressed. The charcuterie, pasta and entrees were impeccable. Avenue M is certainly worth the drive from S. Asheville. Cheers!

I booked the private room for my mother’s birthday party and the entire experience was amazing from start to finish! Tony made sure the details were right before I arrived and offered 2 different dinner options for the event. Rachel and Beth went above and beyond taking care of all the guests and helping me decorate the space before everyone arrived. They wanted to make the event special as much as I did! The chef came out to greet the guests and told us about a new drink they made. All of the guests had a great time and I would recommend Avenue M for any special event or even just for dinner and drinks. The food was delicious! Thank you to everyone who took care of us!!

From start to finish, this was an incredible meal with superb service (thanks Miranda!). We tried a bit of everything (appetizers, pastas, entrees, desserts), and there weren’t any misses from Chef Andrew. Thoughtful wine recommendations from the sommelier/owner, Ralph, that paired perfectly with the beef tartare and duck liver tart. Don’t sleep on the pastas—get a few and share them before the pork chop or chicken Cordon Bleu.

This was our first time at Avenue M and it completely exceeded our expectations.

We were warmly greeted by the host and were immediately seated on the patio. Our server Mike introduced himself and made us feel like he'd been looking forward to our arrival all day You could tell he LOVED his job and couldn't wait to surprise us with his all of his favorites.

We ordered a mix of cocktails & wine (Ralph, one of the owners is a level 2 sommelier) and then, per Mike's request, we got the deviled egg filled leek side dish as an appetizer and the relish tray. Both, delicious.

For dinner, Mike convinced us to go for the house made pastas. We got a mix of agnolotti, cappelletti & rigatoni. WOW. I've had a lot of homemade pasta, but I think this may have been the best pasta I've ever had. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the mix of textures were like nothing I've ever had. SO good!

We had very little room for dessert, but rallied and were so glad we did. The goat cheese panna cotta with carrot cake ice cream was absolutely incredible. Do yourself a favor and just try it.

Highly recommend Avenue M and will definitely return next time I'm in Asheville.

We didn't realize this was a nicer restaurant when we made reservations until we got there and we brought our 3 year old son with us. The co-owner was so accommodating and it was truly appreciated. What a great meal. Everyone should try this place.

My husband and I just celebrated our 22nd Anniversary at Avenue M. We love this place for it's food, ambience and friendly service. Ralph, Tony and staff always make us feel so welcome.

My husband had the charcuterie board with housemade charcuterie, served with warm bread. Pickled veggies, too. All were so delicious. He had the buttermilk fried chicken breast with dirty rice and collard greens. I had the sunburst trout with leeks and romesco. Absolutely delicious. Make sure to order a bottle of wine from their excellent wine list (Ralph is former sommelier at Grove Park Inn and knows his stuff).

Wonderful service and wish we had room for dessert. We will be back!
