Hef's Restaurant

Hef's is quickly becoming one of my favorite local restaurants. The food is served hot and it has always been delicious on every visit. They don't skimp on the meat in the burgers, but it's also not overboard with portions. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault!

Pictures I uploaded show I ordered a hamburger, all the way (slaw, chili, mustard, onion) and fries. My brother-in-law got the Chipotle burger, tater tots, wings and dill pickle chips.

Hef's is a wonderful spot with a cool history. The food is always good and they are open when many others in the area are not. Wings, wraps and pizza are among my favorites. Prices are very affordable and food quantities are plentiful. Highly recommend!

Great food and amazing staff. Handmade burgers. I ordered 2 patties with chilli with a side salad. Both were fantastic and they didn't mind the extra request (and added left is if I wanted to wrap it). We will be back soon to try the wings.

Great little sports bar with some really great sandwiches. Adult beverages were fairly priced. Lots of locals with a few out of towners thrown in made for a great crowd watching 3 different football games at once.

Hands down the best restaurant we went to in the mountains. One night after adventuring we had got back in town kind of late and not many restaurants were still open but Hefs was there to save the night! You've got to try there chili cheese fries, but everything there was amazing the environment, food, and service!

Stopped in for a late lunch, and we were happy with the server (Jennifer),who helped with describing all the specialties, and off the menu items.
We had the deep fried mushrooms, a Ruben, and onion rings. All were prepared and served by the chef, who's name I regret that I didn't catch, but he was very friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed. Now that's what I call service.

We had an excellent meal and enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant / sports bar although we sat at a booth in the dining area. The staff were friendly, efficient and attentive. This place definitely has the feel of the hidden jewel and we'll look forward to stopping in during our next visit to Spruce Pine!

Great burger, beer, and jalapeños poppers. I’ve been several times when visiting the area and never had a bad experience.

Delicious! I had spinach salad loaded with toppings and hot wings, fresh and perfect. My husband had a chipotle Bleu cheese burger with a huge patty and perfect medium. He thought it could be more chipotle flavor but was otherwise very good. Our waitress Amy was super nice and told us about how freshly made all the foods are. It is a bar and restaurant with modern decor.

My family loves the wings and burgers. The salads are great. One of the best places to eat in this area. If something isn't right, just speak up and they are quick to fix it. Good service and friendly wait staff. If you are in a hurry, slow down and take it easy. Good place for date night.

We came to Hef’s while visiting the area and I’m so glad we did. Service and food were great, awesome little bar.

The place has improved significantly. Love their wings and the prices are good. Good beer selection.

Everything was sooooo good! We got jalapeño poppers (10/10 recommend), loaded fries, buffalo chicken pizza, sweet chili wings, and fried Oreos . Everything was super hot and fresh and tasted homemade. The ranch dressing was plentiful and also tasted homemade. The house margarita was perfection. And the server was super sweet and never let our drinks run dry. If you’re in town do yourself a favor and go here! You won’t be disappointed.

Service was great! Salad was big enough to share with my husband and the ranch dressing was delicious! We are taking 1/2 of the pizza home because it was so stuffed with cheesy goodness, that is all we could eat. I don’t live in spruce pine but the next time I’m in the area we will be back.

Delicious chili burger with fries! Awesome margaritas!! Great service!

Just had a wonderful dining experience. My mom got the shrimp po-boy with sweet potato fries and she said it was delicious! The shrimp was perfectly cooked and flavors on point. She’s not one much for bread but, she was sad that she just didn’t have room for it. This is very high praise indeed.

I had the Chipotle and bleu cheese burger with beer battered onion fries. Burger toppings are not automatically added so you can get it exactly the way you want it. The sauce was mildly spicy and Smokey and there are real bleu cheese crumbles on it. I was even able to order my burger medium rare which I really like. The barmaid mentioned the chef has his culinary degree. All I can say is it shows. Wonderful food. A must if you’re in Spruce Pine, down by the rail depot.

Great, quality food, better than we expected! Boneless chicken wings appear to be homemade, and very tender. Fun, comfortable atmosphere. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Great value for the money! We will return when we visit this area again!
