Barber Walter's

So I booked an appointment with Walter last week and went in this morning, he greeted me by name and when i walked in the barber shop had a really nice classy atmosphere. Walter was super nice and personable. His wife came in and asked if I wanted a coffee which was super nice and unexpected. During the cut he was extremely attentive to what type of cut I had asked for. Between all the different cutting instruments and the care he took to make sure my cut was exactly what I asked this was without a doubt the best barber experience I've had in my life this far. Would absolutely recommend this shop to anyone who wants a professional who cares about their work. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could. I will be going here for my cuts from now on.

I found Barber Walter's by a Google search when I wanted to send my husband somewhere that may give a better cut some very quick options and have actual appointments available unlike another local barber shop. Thank Goodness I called and made him an appointment, because he came home with the best haircut he's ever had. I am pretty sure I told him he looked "so handsome" like 10 times that day. He just came home from another appointment and Walter again did a great job. His lines are impeccable and my husband really enjoys going there and getting to chat with Walter. While it's convenient to have online appointment scheduling as an option, I would say call if you need a specific time or day because Walter has been accomodating for us in that way.

I found Barber Walters 2 months ago and have seen them twice. Already, their Master Barber Jeff recognizes my masked face and knows my hair's tendencies. The personal touches make their mastercraft all the better. The atmosphere and ambience are beyond compare, a modern man's lounge, sleek and classic. Definitely the best haircut I've had in years.

Barber Walter's is top notch all around. I first started going to Walter when I lived in San Francisco and he had a barbershop there. Fast forward 9 years and by luck I discovered he'd moved to Wellesley and opened a new shop in town. First off -- I live in Boston and now gladly make the trek out to Wellesley every month for a haircut. There are many good barbers, but Walter is a true professional who lives and breathes the trade and takes great pride in what he does, and he does it very well! He's recreated (and improved upon) the classic barbershop atmosphere of his San Francisco location. Antique photos and memorabilia from his family adorn the walls and classic jazz pipes through the speakers. It's a great way to spend a Saturday morning -- getting a haircut and catching up on all the latest movies, TV shows and current events. Walter is a great conversationalist who takes genuine interest in his clients and gets to know them over time. I can't recommend him or his shop highly enough!

I’ve never really seen or been in a “real barber shop”. When I walked in I was blown away. Walter cut my sons hair and did an amazing job. He and I were very happy and the hair cut was nothing short of amazing.

Highly recommend. The Atmosphere is one of a kind, just like the Experience.

I miss Walter! He was the heart and soul of this place. I'm so glad they have kept the business going! The decor and atmosphere are great and welcoming. Great haircuts and conversation. I don't live in the area anymore but if I need a haircut when I'm visiting Boston this is where you will find me!

This is the best barber shop I have ever visited! Jeff was really nice, professional and communicated well to give me the perfect cut. The store itself was immaculate. You can tell they put a ton of thought into the design and details to provide the perfect atmosphere for their customers. I can’t wait to go back for my next cut!

This place is awesome!! Walter is amazing and so personable. The hair cut was something I never experienced before. I got the deluxe and it was worth it. He is a perfectionist in his craft. Will go back and can't wait till next time.

tldr: I got home from my 8am appointment and my fiancee spent the rest of the day saying that she couldn't believe how good I looked (verbatim!). And I mean ALL DAY. You wanna feel as good as you look? SEE THIS MAN.

Prior to COVID, I was getting a haircut at a salon every 2 weeks. I spent $30 in March on a pair of clippers and have been shaving my head out of fear to go out. Walter was the first cut I've had in 7 months.

The shop is easy to find, and Wellesley is offering free street parking. Tons of it around and there are 3 spots directly in front of the shop. Curbs are high if you are being mindful of handicap access. Cards can be tapped to pay for touchless access, hand sanitizer is available. Keep your mask on, this is haircuts only for now. Honestly? Wasn't even a thought in my mind. He wore gloves and a mask throughout the entire process.

I was the only customer there at 8am. I waited outside where there are marks on the ground to separate customers if a line forms, but currently the business is by appointment only to alleviate long lines and minimize contact. Any concerns I had about contact were gone before I even set foot in the door. I don't think I've ever set foot in a cleaner or more beautiful establishment. The fact that someone thought to paint the ventilation system in the open ceiling instead of leaving it bare metal, and to make it match the rest of place? CLASS. There's an exhaustive wall of products for hair/beard styling and care and the man is simply a scientist when it comes to getting you looking good.

Walter was born for this. Easy going and easier to converse with. Definitely recommend his Blondie playlist as a music option. I don't think we shut up for a second the entire time I was there. It was just like seeing an old friend and talking about *everything*. I completely understand why people hang out at barber shops now. If there wasn't COVID I would go there after work to have a beer.

It has only taken me 45 years of haircuts to find the best Barber, my journey has ended!

So I’m greeted with a smile and a hand shake, and feel instantly comfortable, the setup is perfect, light, airy and relaxing. The music eclectic and worldly. I notice all the little things said and done that come with someone clearly passionate about their work.

So after 45 min of great thoughtful conversation, cold ones and what felt like hanging out, I’ve paid up and leave, only to realise that for the first time I never bothered to check out the haircut, nor was I asked to look in the mirror etc (and look awkward in a response), just walked out. Got home, and got the ultimate stamp of approval, the kids loved it!

Much welcomed addition to Wellesley and surrounding towns, Highly recommended!
