Good modern seafood spot with unique and creative dishes.

Once hyped as one of the most creative seafood spots in the city, Ivory Pearl offers a modern seafood dining experience that blends luxury ingredients with Asian culinary twists. The pricing leans towards the higher end, even when compared to upscale seafood spots in Back Bay, but the creativity of some of the dishes presented a unique draw.

We started off with their rotating East Coast oysters. At $18 for four, these were perhaps the city's most expensive oysters. While the accompanying hot sauce lent a spicy and tangy edge, the oysters themselves didn't quite live up to their extravagant pricing. In contrast, the Katsu & Caviar dish was more memorable. It brought together the richness of Wagyu sandwiches, with the added umami of caviar and the depth of katsu sauce.

For our main courses, we got the snow crab noodles, Ponzu mushrooms, and the K-BBQ Salmon Collar & Belly. Both the noodles and mushrooms were heavily buttered. The mushrooms, in particular, benefited from a spicy chili paste that added a much-needed zing. The noodles, while flavorful with their buttered ramen broth and acidic pickled bamboo, somewhat missed the mark on highlighting the crab. The Korean bbq-style salmon, served with various accompaniments for wrapping, was a novel concept. However, the robust flavor of kimchi tended to dominate the dish, overshadowing the other elements.

Overall, Ivory Pearl excelled in presenting luxury seafood with a rich, buttery emphasis. While the value for price may be a matter of personal opinion, the restaurant's impressive cocktail selections alone make it worth another visit. I'm keen on returning, not just for the food, but to enjoy some lighter fare accompanied by their creatively crafted drinks.

This is IMO the best brunch in Brookline. The dinner options are also great too and they are open late on weekends. Enjoy~

Really good brunch! Havent been for dinner but will definitely return to try. The french toast was the best i’ve ever had and I’m more of a savory person for breakfast

If you are sleeping on Ivory peal, then you are making a mistake. The food was phenomenal and the drinks were top tier! The service was great, especially Jeff who shucked our oysters and explained our entire meal!

Seriously delicious and inventive seafood you really won’t find elsewhere in Boston/Brookline. This hidden gem is worth the trek! The reviews of people saying “too little food for the price” must be used to eating at cheese cake factory because we left completely full and satisfied as we shared dishes between 3 people. However, this wasn’t our first time at a non-chain restaurant, and we knew to ask our server how many dishes she recommended we order under small/large for the amount of people and our hunger level.

The standout item was the taiyaki and the steak tartare seriously order double 🤤

The tentacle hot dog was terrifying but weirdly delicious all the flavors worked well together and the octopus was tender.

My only wish was that the tots and caviar were a little more savory - the potato mix needed something (seasoning/cheese ?)

Our server was also super friendly and helpful with all our menu questions.

Came here with a couple friends a little later in the night, it looks like they were about to close early but they happily served us. The drinks here are insanely good, I can’t stop thinking about how good it was. The service was also amazing, one of the staff overheard me talking about an amaro I hadn’t tried and immediately poured me a taste of it, would definitely visit if you’re in the area!!

What a great addition to this Brookline neighborhood! Ivory Pearl is a cute spot located right on Beacon and has great seafood, delicious drinks and some of the nicest hospitality.

I was very excited to hear about this place while inhaling food at one of their sister restaurants—I couldn’t wait to give it a try.

All the food on the menu is meant to be shared, so that’s always fun if you want to try a few dishes amongst your group. The oysters and shrimp cocktail were very tasty. My friend’s salad had the best bread crumbs of my life. I know this is going to sound slightly silly (seeing as how this is a seafood restaurant), but their bigger is awesome! It hit all the right places.

All of the drinks sound amazing. I fell in love with the Lo-Fi and could drink a gallon of that if I wasn’t such a lightweight.

As far as keeping everything socially distant, they do a good job! All of the tables are very far apart. All of the servers have their masks on. We opted for outdoor seating because of the obvious reason, but it was also a really nice day! There’s a good number of tables with umbrellas set up for maximum shade.

I would definitely make a reservation if you are on the lookout to go here. It’s popping for dinner time.

I am not an avid seafood eater but I think this might be one of the most unique meals I’ve ever had - in a good way. I think if they had their menu on display for passersby, it might encourage more foot traffic during peak dining hours, cause this place was empty at 6pm on a Saturday night and it doesn’t deserve to be.

Came here with friends, the atmosphere was very lively and service was great- waitress was super friendly, fun and professional, she very attentive as we never had empty glasses. The owner even came out to check on tables and make sure everything running smonthly. The drinks were strong and tasted amazing, very tropical and looked great

For food we ordered ceviche, tier 1 seafood tower, tentacle dog, half duck, and added on an unagi grilled cheese. Everything was nothing short of amazing and I would rate this as one of the top restaurants I've ever been to. Every dish was presented so well and had a mouth watering flavor profile - even the items that sound like a strange combo went together perfectly. So if you're adventurous and looking for a fancy restaurant for a date night I would HIGHLY recommend Ivory Pearl

You NEED to go to ivory Peal if you haven’t yet. Every bite we had was delicious. Forgot to take a photo butthe half duck was UNREAL. We also got the tentacle dog which tastes as good as it looks Honestly you won’t go wrong with any cocktail or food item your order. Counting down the days until the next time I come back

The meatballs were $30, the pasta was $35. The drinks were $36.... 2 people $200. Fabulous food. Be prepared to spend like you are a rich person. Classic small plate dumb price more money than brains spot. Delish and pretentious. Bring your wallet and al numb mind and you will love it. Asked for not spicy, got spicy anyways. Loved it and I'll never go back. Highly recommend if you have more money than brains or just want to burn money on really good food and then still be hungry. 5 stars for rich folk only!

This is by far one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at in the Boston area. We got the fries with caviar mayo (amazing) and then the Squid Ink Pappardelle with Octopus (more amazing). The cocktails didn’t disappoint either. I had a Pimm’s Cup and my girlfriend had this delicious drink with bell pepper in it. We’ll definitely be going back to try the Octopus Hotdog.

One if the best seafood evenings we've had in a long time. Oysters are awesome, but the real sleeper was the chicken drumsticks. We ordered a number of the smaller plates and tried the menu. 5/5 would go again.

I can’t stop thinking about the tentacle hot dog, it was so good! Seafood restaurants can be hit or miss but this one did not disappoint, unique flavors and fresh ingredients all around. Cocktails were perfect, Highly recommend the Pearl Colada😻I wish I still lived in Boston I’d be here every week!

Amazing place, amazing people working here and more than anything the food is fabulous.
I sat at the bar for the first time and Who knows how long. The bar manager was fantastic and as most people know, the Old fashioned was in front of me to start and fantastic experience. I love the fact that everyone at the restaurants was so busy but even like that their attitude was fantastic, and it was such a treat for us to just catch up and try to find a solution to every issue in this mad world. Thank you for the oysters, the ceviche, the salad with the fish on "top", for all those cocktails and for doing such a fantastic job with a beautiful smile and great attitude.
Cozy place
Beautiful cocktails
Amazing food
Best oysters in town
Thank you.

Really great experience here! We stayed for four hours and clapped at every dog that walked by from their wooden patio out front. We got three Beacon St Cobblers and it was an experience of a drink, from look to taste. We all got the tentacle hot dog and could NOT stop talking about it while we ate, I will think about that buttery bun for years. We got the tier one tower and loved all of it except the crab claw. The ceviche was incredible, could have eaten more of that!

My biggest issue was the bathroom. It was single room, gender neutral, but offered no lock on the handle. The supplemental lock was shocking and allowed the door to open a little every time someone tried it. It was always shocking and violent. There was NO paper towels to dry the hands and only a meager hand dryer of unsatisfactory power. Bathrooms could use some TLC for the experience. Was told by others in my party that the far bathroom (secret third bathroom) was the way to go.

Derek was an incredible server, anticipating our needs and clearing things so efficiently I sometimes didn’t even notice. I struggle to think of a better service experience in such busy conditions. Amazing!! Go here!!

Everything was great, beautiful music, not too loud, friendly staff. Loved the details. Really apprecIate lack of plastic straws, and disposable cocktail decor

Always delish and relaxed! The salmon collar was perfect. We go regularly in the food weather to eat outside. This was my first time indoors, and it was quiet with well spaced tables.

Best meal I've had all year. Took my girlfriend here for a birthday dinner. Staff was so attentive, the ordering process was smooth. Cocktails were creative and delicious. THE FOOD, THOUGH. Everything was so tasty- the oysters were super fresh. The ahi tuna flash fried was absolutely perfect with a crispy panko outside. The mushrooms with the egg yolk, wow. We really enjoyed ourselves, and we will definitely be back.
