I was treated with dignity & respect by the IPRB back in 2009& was referred for clemency on a bogus felony in Macon County...however the governor was on his way to prison & denied everyone & now I can't even use my degree after all the hardwork I put in...it's 27yrs old & I hope someone sees this so I can move forward!

My son was granted a hearing and went before the board this past week for a marijuana felony he was arrested for 8 years ago when he was 21 years old. He is seeking clemency/pardon from the governor for the charge. We were all quite nervous and perhaps feeling somewhat intimidated about the process. The board members could not have been kinder or more compassionate towards all that went before them that morning. They treated everyone with respect and dignity. Everyone that went before the board had made a mistake and committed a crime at some point in their life. Thanks to all board members for their time and forgiveness towards all. Whatever the outcome the experience was positive!

The clemency process was a positive experience. Everyone is treated with respect, and the process through the PRB is unique.

I don't really know of the PRB members actions. I am hoping though that they know that MSR for my most class X felonies is now 18 months per Pub Act 101-0652 and that they are making others aware of the same e.g. the IDOC.

I, thankfully, have never had to go before a parole board before and at my age, hopefully never will, BUT, I watch the true crime shows and personally, I would like to be able to go to the Illinois parole site, like I can the Kentucky parole site and see if and when someone is coming up for parole. It’s public information as far as I know, and it should be made available on the website.
