The Dublin Pub

The reuben was amazing. Usually one or more of the ingredients is overpowering or underwhelming. Not here. Literally in every bite you could taste the entire sandwich. The onion rings were very good, but the dipping sauces they gave (ranch and honey mustard) were to die for. I never would have paired onion rings with honey mustard, and that would have been a mistake. It worked so well. The service was top notch, as well. I'm so glad we decided to finally try The Dublin Pub.

Dublin Pub customer service was great! I especially loved the pretzel with cheese, sweet potato fries and bourbon burger. Yum!

We had my daughters 21'st bday party here. It didn't cost extra to have the semi private area. The wait staff were very helpful and nice. Drinks were very good! Food was definitely different then where we lice so that was a nice treat. My daughter really liked the beer she had. It was very flavorful.

We stop here occasionally when we are in town on Business. My husband and I own the SIR Security & Investigations Company. We like to go back to restaurants that have become our favorites. Dublin Pub is most definitely one of them. We ate there tonight and had a great experience. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. The drinks were great. Our waitress Heather was EXCELLENT! She was very, sweet, friendly and kind as well as attentive and helpful. She took care of all of our requests with a smile and very prompt. We will be asking for her on our next visit there. THANK YOU HEATHER!

I have lived out of state for over two decades, so until the time when someone has a non-dairy cheese sauce, I have been weak and make an exception to have a horseshoe when I'm visiting again.

I picked Dublin Pub because they have veggie burgers (Beyond), sweet potato fries (great for people who can't eat potatoes), and a pepper jack cheese sauce.

I had been getting it without bread to avoid wheat, forgetting to ask about the cheese sauce ingredients, and it turns out that the cheese sauces all contain wheat.

Their sweet-potato fries are great! I definitely recommend trying the sweet potato fries and with their pepper cheese sauce if you can eat it (dairy/wheat), even if you don't get a pony shoe.

I'm updating my review to say double check your order before you leave if Jason hasn't personally guaranteed it. You might feel stupid and/or rude, but it will be less annoying than not finding out your part of the order is wrong until you're at your destination two towns away and the meat eaters both got everything they wanted. 🤣

First time this visit was in the restaurant. The food was good, but you may only want to eat here if you are crunched for time like to see a movie, etc., or give yourself extra time. It was in the neighborhood of an hour before we got our entrees.

Second visit was takeout. The cheese curds were great and had the right sauces. The person who got a cauliflower-crust sausage pizza said it didn't seem spiced (was bland).

Had a ponyshoe with veggie burger, sweet-potato fries, and pepper-jack sauce. Definitely recommend this combo (if you can eat the dairy and wheat in the cheese sauce)

I forgot how much I loved this place. It has a neighborhood homey feel. The host was very kind and helpful. The server was awesome and gave great suggestions. And the food, oh the food was wonderful!!! I give it all the stars!!!!

I grew up on horseshoes in Springfield, IL and this is my GO TO spot! The service is always great, waittime is very minimal and organized, and then ... THE FOOD is always hot, great portions and delicious. Our entire family loves going there. Great cheese sauce, beers and kids menu!

We had a lovely time. All 5 of us got something different and everything was great. We had a young man as server. He did a great job.

Fried pickles were mouth watering with a some perfect seasoning on them, I couldn't quite figure it out but sooo good. I a ordered my usual French dip was flavorful but not as good as I would prefer. Au jus was cold but our server was amazing and had it warmed up. Hubby ordered a Rueben and fries said it was perfect. I might try that next time we our out here.

Comfortable pub style atmosphere. Menu is large enough to accomodate any taste. Open face roast beef and shepards pie were bot very good. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive.

I love this place. Great food and service. They just recently raised their prices and I get it. I understand supply and demand but $19 for a freaking horseshoe is absolutely absurd. No reason they need charge that much for a horseshoe to make ends meet. I'm very disappointed

Pony shoes for excellent. Appetizers were fried pickles cheese curds and they were delicious oh and the fried mushrooms.

We frequent Dublin Pub often, especially later in the evening. They have a wide selection of dishes. The Spinach salad is especially good, as is the flat iron steak. My wife loves the French fries and the impossible burger with all the toppings. I like the mushroom & swiss burger, and they'll cook it medium rare which is my choice. Great service.

2/26/2024: We again went to Dublin Pub for dinner, and to put it mildly, it was awful. The service was good; that's where good ended. My wife ordered chicken noodle soup and a salad. The soup was more like chicken and dumplings, was flavorless, and barely warm. She didn't finish it. I had corned beef and cabbage. Again, not much flavor, the corned beef was tough, and the dish was watery: the cabbage had not been drained before serving. What made the evening worse was the loudest bartender we've ever experienced; people downtown could have heard her. She was accompanied by an equally loud man at the bar who clearly had too much to drink, and a couple who who constantly cackled with their loud voices. We were seated across from the bar and had difficulty carrying on a conversation. We won't be back soon.
Last night's rating: 4* for service, 1* for food and atmosphere.

Great food and atmosphere. Service was not top notch last time we were in tho. Management seemed distracted and the service seemed understaffed. Waited 10 mins just for hostess to come to the front to seat us. Hopefully this was just a fluke bc this is a go to eatery for us in the area.

It was our first time eating here. We had a group of 15 people, children and adults. The service, food, and atmosphere were great. Our waitress was great

We stopped in for a quick horseshoe at the bar. Latoya was an amazing bartender and food server. Thanks. We will be back. The buffalo chicken pony shoe without bread and white cheese sauce is amazing.

My first time having a horseshoe! Delicious but dense, very filling.
Good food and drink, bangin’ music, and good service even though short staffed. Would go again if I come back to Springfield!

busy but everyone separated but also have plastic dividers between tables. first the person that seated us gave us ideas of her favorites which always helps right! the ‘ambiance’ and i dislike fancy words but how else do you try and describe the pictures, wall decor, music!! ( they are playing 70-80 music!!😀 not sure if that’s always going to be true.. “the seventh son by willie dixon.. they do have room to dance but would embarrass my better half😇. horseshoe combos seem to have everything covered. i got the philly steak one, wife ordered the patty melt. it was all great! cooked perfect. tossed up over getting the walleye sandwich or the mac and cheese with barbecue chicken or with avocado.

Excellent choice! Guinness on tap. The Breaded Mushrooms are to die for! The Potatoe Skin were the best with the Pub's own special cheese sauce. Hubby had the Shepherd's Pie and it was delicious! Good prices. All in all a very good experience. Gotta try! Okay, so we brought a piece of the Red Velvet Pie back to the hotel and had it for breakfast, YUM!!! 👍👍👍

So many horseshoes, so little time!

This was a recommendation to try to fully experience Illinois cuisine, and my little ham and white cheese ponyshoe did not disappoint.

Add a Dublin Mule, and it's a party!
