A powerful yet somber experience and tribute to the Great Abe Lincoln. The ground are beautiful, the monument is wonderful, the caretaker was extremely friendly and welcomed us and thanked us for coming and encouraged us to take pictures. Please remember that this is the final resting place of a great President and to respect the grounds, the monument, and his resting place.

Finally made it, life long dream to visit! The closest you'll ever be to meeting this once great mind and man.
The architecture is amazing. The statues are beautiful and be sure to take the free tour, they explain every detail.
It was beautiful and peaceful. Not much of a crowd on this day.
Cemetery is very old. Be sure to visit the Accordion King at the entrance and pay your respects.
Also there are restrooms which is super convenient.

Such a beautiful place! The overall vibe is so peaceful—you must visit! I visited alone and took a walk, viewed the inside of the tomb, and sat in the grass for a while. I was lucky enough to have sat down close enough to overhear a woman by the name of Valerie begin her guided tour. She’s so knowledgeable about the location and its history! It was a fun session for all ages. I look forward to revisiting again soon, as the fall colors and beautiful scenery make it the perfect place to appreciate nature, and to unwind while appreciating the cool history.

We were the only family there, so we didn't have to wait in the queue! This was simply a beautiful and humbling experience. The monument is well built. The first thing you feel is peaceful. Before you enter the tomb, there's a bronze bust of Lincoln. Make sure to rub the nose of the statute for good luck! Once you enter inside the building, you are greeted by the friendly volunteer. The interior design is quite posh- art deco style , and very very clean. There are few statutes, plaques and quotes, and a final resting place of President Lincoln and his wife and 3 children are also buried there.
It's free to enter, free parking and there's also a washroom area near the car park. Oh, drop a penny behind the building near the window for another luck!

Worth the 1 hour drive from Peoria (history nerd). Staff inside were helpful and supplied lots of info about the monument. Although I wish people were able to climb to the higher level for close-ups of the statues the remainder was great.

Very interesting, well maintained grounds. The architecture was amazing. A wonderful tribute to Abe Lincoln for his final resting place. I didn't realize all he had accomplished in his lifetime.

This is wonderful, free spot to pay respect to a powerful president. We arrived at 4:45 right before they closed, so it was a quick, quiet, peaceful visit.

Worth a visit. Our country is in a tough place right now, I’m definitely feeling pretty down about it. But seeing this beautiful site was a good, albeit small reminder of what Abraham Lincoln believed in and fought for.

Another item on our bucket list. This monument is taken care of extremely well. The association does a wonderful job. Take your time when you are here and look around, take it all in. Make sure you down below behind the monument and see the receiving vault as well. We have a full review on our blog site and YouTube channel for this location.

Very beautiful site and yet very somber. Everyone should visit at least once. I carried my grandsons so they can get a glimpse of history.

Please remember when visiting the monument, that this is the final resting place for President Lincoln and his family. Treat the site with the respect and reverence that it deserves. Take a walk around the outside of the monument to look at the statues on each corner representing the 4 branches of military at the time of Lincolns Presidency. Also there is a statue of President Lincoln front and center, as wall as a bust of him that you can stand next too. His nose is shiney from years of people rubbing it. Enter the monument and walk the halls too see several more statues of Lincoln at different times in his life. While inside you can stop and pay respects at the tombs of his wife and sons, as well as the tomb of the President himself. As most people know, he is actually buried ten feet below the floor.

A very simple, yet elegant monument and memorial for one of the greatest presidents in American History. The entire Oak Cemetary itself is very beautiful, but the Lincoln Monument on the hill seals the deal. The inside is a very succinct testament to a very reserved man with his tomb in the middle and collection of small statues from around the country.

The cemetery and Lincoln tomb are very well maintained and respectful. Easy to get to and a great space to visit to reflect on the impact of President Abraham Lincoln.

Its a somber and moving experience as you enter the tomb and view the final resting place of Abraham Lincoln the16th President and his family. There is an attentant inside to answer questions. Its definitely worth the short drive if you're in the area. Be sure to go around back and head down the hill to see Lincoln’s temporary tomb and a few other monuments.

I had the opportunity to visit this site last year because I always wanted to pay my respect to this amazing human being whom I admire since I was a kid and I am still amazed by all the great things he accomplished as a president. He was gone too soon, but will never be forgotten.
