Update:

After hearing about my poor experience, the salon reached out and went above and beyond to make things right. They’ve earned a customer for life. My chunky striped have been blended in, my cut has been evened out, and I’m absolutely amazed at how kind, understanding, and thorough they were in turning my experience around! The whole salon rallied together to correct my hair. Thank you!!

I went in with a full foil request and left details about my color history. My natural color is 8N and I went to a 4R a year ago, and have since lifted to a 6R, on my way to get back to my natural color. I brought photos of the color I wanted. It was a simple two-level lift from a 6R to an 8RC. This should have been an easy and gentle lift. I was asked if I wanted any dimension and said sure.
The stylist took two full hours to place the foils. While sitting in the chair, I watched the stylist pull out my hair that had over processed in chunks along with the foils. I asked if I should panic and she said “no, it’s just a little pink” as if I was worried about the tone and not about the hair she had melted off.
I was very clear that I needed a professional, natural, blended and sleek color look as I have a new client-facing role at work in high-pressure luxury sales. What I walked out with was chunky stripes two levels lighter than I asked, yellowed and not toned, circa 2005, with tons of hair that burned off. She also cut my ends a few inches shorter than I had requested.
I was so horrified, I bought a deep conditioning mask, tipped, and left. When I got home I instantly regretted not asking for a manager. This will likely cost me more hours and hundreds of dollars more in corrective color.

I have just recently became a customer over this past summer. Every time I leave with the BEST experience. The stylist herself, Maguy, is hands down one of the most interpersonal, understanding and beyond talented. I came in from a salon I have went to for years and I will not be returning due to the serves I have received from her here! She walks me through every step of the way and explains things so I have clear expectations. Just an overall great experience!

My stylist Molly was amazing! I had a bad experience at another salon that needed to be fixed, Molly gave me the best haircut I’ve had in years. Great atmosphere, friendly and skilled stylists. Will definitely be coming back regularly.

I’ve always felt insecure about my fine thin hair and have struggled to find a stylist who could make it look good on me. Amy has been the best person to style and color my hair. She always makes me feel good after a cut or cut and color and I feel great each morning when I style my hair. The salon is a welcoming and calming space. I love it here.

I’m loving my new haircut from Molly at Rue48! As someone who loves a good deal but can’t bear the thought of another bad ‘do from Great Clips, I’m so happy I went to Rue48 to get my hair cut! It turned out really nice and fresh, and I appreciated the level of personal service combined with the professionalism of the salon. I’m so glad I found a local spot that does an amazing job, and will definitely be back!

I finally found a salon and stylist I love. My hair is naturally curly and it's always hard to find someone who understands how to cut curly hair. Dawn is an amazing stylist who gets how my hair works and always makes me feel beautiful when I leave. The salon is calming and comfortable. Highly recommend!

First time customer & I couldn't be happier! Amazing atmosphere and customer service. Casey did fantastic on my color correction & really made me feel comfortable in her chair. Very personable and took into consideration as to what I was looking for, to the fullest. The salon got me in last minute and everyone there clearly made customer service a priority. I recently had my hair colored & haircut done at a other salon and it turned out to be a disaster. After that whole experience I was really nervous about trusting another person with my hair , but luckily one of my friends recommended Maggie and she did amazing work !! She turned my head of disaster into what I had pictured all along and how I wanted it done before I had the previous salon mess it up. Thank you again !!! Definitely recommend !! Especially when you have had a bad experience at a different salon.

Caitlin made my hair look beautiful! I really needed gray coverage and she took her time to match the root coverage color to my current color, making sure there weren’t any missed spots! She also recommended a balayage and it turned out gorgeous. She is very detailed with her work to make sure it turns out just right!

I was looking for a new salon for a while and decided to try Rue 48 (and Rika) just based on the great Google reviews I saw. They live up to their praise! Rika was so sweet, made great conversation, and made my haircut a smooth process, and the rest of the staff I interacted with was super polite. The salon was also cozy and cute!

At the end of the day, I love this place because I have a great haircut.

The stylist, Margaret, took time to talk to me and discuss exactly what I wanted before moving forward. It turned out fantastic. Typically my boyfriend can hardly notice a haircut, but he agrees that my hair looks great.

The massage was good but short, and the atmosphere was nice.

My hairstylist was Dawn and she did and AMAZING job. I went in to get my hair chopped a bit but wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I gave her the reigns and she did not disappoint! I left feeling so renewed and so so happy with the result

I came to U.S. just three months ago. Rika was a Japanese whom I speak with for the first time in the U.S. and a stylist whom I met for the first time in the U.S. after I came here. I had a wonderful time at Rue 48 in Minneapolis. I was extremely satisfied with the way how she cut my hair. Although I need a six hours drive from my living place to Minneapolis, I will definitely stop by Rue 48 again soon. There are plenty of parking spaces along the street near by. The atmosphere in Rue 48 is fantastic. I felt that I was surrounded by nature. I could calm down and relax myself. I love it.

I have gotten my hair done at many different salons but Rue 48 has definitely been the best! I had my hair colored by Maguy and she gave me exactly what I asked for. I'm so pleased with her work and plan on continuing to see Maguy! I'd recommend seeing her to anyone, she's really sweet and does amazing work!!!

I was able to book a very last minute opening by calling the salon and lucky it was the owner! Her service, skill, and expertise were amazing! The salon is beautiful, everyone is friendly, the atmosphere felt great, and it felt very clean and safe! All around great experience and LOVE my hair!

I enjoy every haircut experience with Molly! She’s a pro at short styles (shoulder level). And she provides an easy, positive conversation while I’m there. I’ll be a repeat customer as long as she’s with Rue48!

I have tried well over five different salons since I moved to the cities two years ago. I finally tried Rue 48 and I'm so glad I did. It is in a cute little part of south Minneapolis that isn't to busy (parking space) - it has a modern-rustic charm decor with all the amazing smells Aveda has to offer! It was definitely a relaxing environment. My stylist is Maguy Rosen. (pronounced like Maggie) ;) I absolutely loved what she did with my hair- before I went to Maguy it was heavy flat and the color was dull, I was so sick of it I wore a bun all the time. She colored my hair and added some pcs of lighter color for some added dimension. She had a natural knack for placing the highlights randomly, yet perfect! The cut was great too; sexy bouncy layers that framed my face perfectly! I told her I wear my hair up a lot bc of work. She had me put it up and did some face framing. She made sure I liked it both up and down. I literally left the salon with my hair in the cutest pony tail EVER! I can honestly say I've never left a hair appt with my hair in a pony tail and loving it! She's also super personable and down to earth. She understands new styles and trends. She has a passion for what she does along with natural ability! I get very nervous about anyone cutting even an inch off my hair and she was understanding and did some and then would stop to let me take a look at the length. I am going back 3 days before my wedding for a cut and color and I am just dreaming about the oil head massage that starts of every Rue 48 salon beauty experience! I also know of others that have gone to her who are much more daring then I am and she has done some of the cutest pixie cuts and hair colors I have seen! I would recommend her to my family, friends, and strangers! Men or women..Check her out!

Kelly O is the BEST. First of all, she’s HILARIOUS. She’s so easy to talk to! She listens, and provides her honest and knowledgeable feedback, and has great ideas that are on trend and suited to your hair. She is a master at cutting, color, and Aveda products. I promise you, Kelly will not disappoint, and you will be a client for life! Cannot recommend enough.

This is my first time at Rue 48 Salon. I like that communication is very clear. I am cutting a lot of length out and so Rika kept confirming to make sure that she understood correctly, which I appreciated. Along the way she also checked with me to make sure the style is correct and the layer and thickness are appropriate. I went in without a photo here so she did an awesome job. Definitely going back :)

This is by far one of the best hair experiences you can have, Rue48 exemplifies the AVEDA experience. Casey is my stylist and I cannot say enough amazing things about her, she is totally willing to stay inside the box with you or help you explore new styles. She is fun and up beat but makes sure your experience is relaxing. I highly recommend Rue48 and Casey!
